I never really do these but I had to for this experience. Our weekend was great at the holiday inn right from when we checked in. They made sure our experience was wonderful. After hearing everyone complain about the Internet, I had no problem with it at all. Worked wonderful. If your ever in Bakersfield I beyond recommend this hotel!

I checked into this location on Saturday early evening & was politely served by a nice & respectful young lady that was working at front desk at the time. I took the elevator to the 2nd floor and into the room I was assigned. My immediate reaction was that it definitely smelled like someone had been relaxing in the room. I walked into the room with a strong scent of men's cologne, the television on, the pillows on the mattress were not done up & the most disgusting appearance of a toilet that was not flushed properly. At first I thought I had been in the wrong room but no, I was in the right room however there had been someone in there. I immediately called front desk from the room and explained the situation. She came up quickly & escorted me to another room. It was by far the most unprofessional. I have stayed at this location previously & was content with my stay however with that kind of disruption it was very uncomfortable. I appreciate the front desk concierge for giving me another room but if anything housekeeping &all others working for the company should be able to keep it "professional."

We were there for 2 nights for visiting family for Thanksgiving and we were looking for a nice clean hotel that would accommodate my wife and two kids and this did the job. Very please with the service and all. The bar and restaurant are were nice and clean also.

I usually stay at the Holiday In Express but due to the Big Win promotion I booked a room at the Holiday Inn. Beautiful new facility but the wifi in the room was slower than my aol dial up that I abandoned 10 years ago. It took awhile but I managed to run speedtest.net and it was 10 % of my download rate on dialup. Websites kept timing out due to no response. When I went down to front desk and complained I was told “yea we know our internet is slow but there is nothing we can do …it’s a corporate thing”.
Also, the room has plenty of empty space but the work table is small. Not a place to stay if you need the internet. or want to work in your room.

Customer service great, pleasant smile & welcome outside appearance nice, but once past elevator not so great reminds me of a cheaper motel, room ac noisy and did not cool well, was placed next to a group that was doing work in area and they kept meeting next door and slamming the doors, yelling at each other loud in hallways up till after midnight. Easy to get in and out of hotel no real perks for IHG Platinum Members a very small bottle of water and a small kids size garonola bar, internet was Extremely slow so I just thetered with my cellphone it worked much faster.
