I think as an ihg hotel the lounge needs to be re vamped to make it more comfortable and friendly because at the moment it feels a bit like a canteen... October 25, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good service but not recognized as a frequent guest I've been staying at this establishment for the last 3 months but I don't feel very recognized as a repeat customer. Apart from a room rate that was 30% higher than my previous rate, I also had to pay THB1,500 for Club access. I hope the establishment will review this policy as I take my monthly trips to Bangkok. I'm also looking for a reasonable Holiday Inn establishment in KL as well given the frequency of my visits there. I do hope that IHG will take this feedback into consideration. Thank you. The location is fantastic, right across from the SkyTrain and easy access to the toll roads. The staff is what makes this hotel special. The hotel is connected with the Intercontinental Hotel which is also a plus. Lots of shopping opportunity in the neighborhood. Likewise many restaurants for all budgets in walking distance. Lumpini Park is just a one kilometer stroll away and very recommendable early in the morning or before sunset. Don't miss it and enjoy some sportive activities or just wander around and relax. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall a wonderful stay Perfect location with very easy access within walking distance to BTS Station, Central World Department Store, Big C Supermarket, Erawan Shrine; etc. Wi-fi service in limousine is a nice touch and drivers are very friendly in both ways. Room is clean and comfortable, size is good enough for one or two persons. Buffet Breakfast was nice with a wide variety of choices as well as an American Breakfast which I ordered in the first morning. Besides, I also ordered for room service twice during midnight and the food quality of room service really need some improvement. The first night I ordered a Beef Burger and the beef seems like grilled for a few times which was quite dry and not juicy at all. The second night I ordered a Triple Decker Sandwich, and all ingredients were dry and cold including fried egg. The bread were toasted but seems long time ago. Ate 2 pieces with no choices at 3am due to starving. Most of the staff are friendly and wiling to help especially Reception and Concierge. The only downside of service in the hotel was received from the bell counter upon my departure. The Bell Captain himself is polite and helpful. However, one of his team members was having a very bad attitude. When we asked for a roll of tape to pack our stuffs at their counter, he told us that we had to pay for it or give him tips. How ridiculous it was! It was fine if you sell a new roll to me and I paid for it but it wasn't and I don't think it is related to tipping before providing any service! October 6, 2013

I had wanted to stay in the same room on the 14th Floor but it was occupied. I prefer the standing shower in the previous room compared to the bath tub I had during the last stay. The two girls Chuanpit and Siriluck in the Executive Lounge were excellent hostesses. October 2, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent in room dinning the worst part of this hotel is the service of concierge team-they are not at all helpful and not friendly...it is a big concern for your hotel..they did not help us to discuss with the taxi driver and the taxi driver after going some time started telling we will only go by fix rent but i told the bell boy to tell that i know the location and i will go by meter but the driver was stick upon his fare and i had pay it. so my suggestions is you develop the safety of your guest. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of my favourite Holiday Inn's I travel to BKK very regularly with my wife and always stay here. Remembering its a city hotel and not one on the beach in Thailand, you may expect it to be a bit more 'sterile' however this is not the case at all. Staff are friendly and personable, location is great for eating and shopping nearby. Skytrain is right outside the door. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable beds. I love the little personal touches such as the 'welcome back' greetings by name. Great recognition for Priority Club members. Located in the same complex as the Intercontinental so you can use the bar there too however the lobby bar in the HI itself is nice enough. Plus the Intercontinental is expensive. Car park is next door and you can walk through the complex undercover directly into the hotel. If there is any downsides at all it is the route from the car park. I can never understand why hotels build 2 or 3 steps without a ramp from car parks as its clear people are going to be pulling luggage behind them. There are lifts however there are still a few steps up and down to navigate. Nice simple pool, club lounge is good and comfortable with a happy hour and breakfast each day. Fully recommended!! When you stay at executive floors you need to know that you have to check in at the lounge in annex building, but staff at reception is very friendly to escort you. Welcome at the lounge was friendly and personal as always. Really felt welcomed. Staff really made the difference and goes the extra mile when needed. Major technical issues in my room was resolved on the spot with great level of concern to my personal well-being. Manager recognized me from previous visit, etc. Hotel is also at great location with BTS and Shopping malls around the corner. Only small downside is the bar area which isn`t really cosy but service is as good as anywhere else in the hotel For me this hotel is a home away from home! August 14, 2013

All the staff from Housekeeping to cafe G and the bell/lift men were outstanding and always carrying a nice smile. The bell boys were always so helpful. Though I wish the check in/ out staff would be less sterile and friendlier as their colleagues. Breakfast is nice with a good variety and great scrambled eggs! August 1, 2013

Very central hotel with simple walking access to many stores and facilities nearby. Not least of which was the huge Pratunaam market with bargains of all shapes and sizes. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. They installed an extra box in my room for internet because the signal strength was low. They also welcomed my wife and made sure she was comfortable when she arrived separately from me. Downstairs restaurant excellent value for money with a comprehensive buffet. Returned after main vacation to finish the holiday with two more nights at this hotel as it had been such a good experience to start with. July 30, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location and comfortable bed While choosing hotels when I travel, my first priority is with the IHG Group as all the basic amenities are available. I do not have to ask for it unlike other hotels where I have to ask for ironing board and so on. I am a Gold Elite member so I always get good recognition. However, I have one suggestion to make to Holiday Inn Phloenchit in particular. On my recent stays with Holiday Inn Phloenchit in July 2013, I noticed that one of the bell boys was irritating. His intent may be his eagerness to help but he was overdoing it. I was even overcharged for a taxi which I booked to Pattaya and later I found that the taxi had to pay a commission to him. It is OK that he wants to make a little bit of extra money, which is fine, but I found that he is over anxious to get people to get taxis. He does it to the extent that it really gets irritating. Coming to the point, my main suggestion is this. After returning from Pattaya, on a particular day, I was going out and he was standing at the entrance. In his exact words he said "Hello Boss, where are you going?". My suggestion is first of all, staff should be trained to greet the customers as SIR and not BOSS. BOSS is a word common with Indians, but none of the IHG staff use that word even in India. Secondly, it is none of his business to ask me where I am going unless I ask him to get me a taxi. He should not be asking customers where they are going when they are walking in and out of the entrance each time. It is irritating and makes you feel as if you are standing in the middle of Soi 11 or Khaosan Road and not in the premises of an international chain group of hotels. I would not have bothered to write this but this time it really made me irritated. July 26, 2013
