Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 An excellent base for a visit to Bangkok
I had only been to Bangkok once before and that was some 20 or more years ago. My wife had had a bad fall involving much injury, trauma & unpleasant experiences. So I was rather apprehensive in returning.
I was advised to use the Holiday Inn by a friend who lives in Bangkok & it proved good advice.
It was comfortable, convenient & good value for money. The vestibule & toilets were most useful fro meeting visitors. I enjoyed using the swimming pool, but was surprised that there were not changing facilities by the pool. ( you had to go don stairs to the gym)
The food in the restaurant was very good, esp at breakfast. However I do wish that the Hotel provided a jug of coffee on the table when I arrived - it was quite a "hastle" to get my cup refilled. Also, it would be good if the food in the evening was more "western". I caught a bad chill & what I wanted was food suitable for my condition - some hot soup ( such as we have in UK) with bread & sandwiches - when you are not well, oriental food is not very appertising. In the end, I could not find anything that was suitable to eat & so went empty & hungry to bed.
I do realise that you are not catering mainly fro a western diet, but some greater flexibility would have been appreciated.
However, I hope to use Holiday Inns again - the one in Solihull is excellent

I do recommend this Hotel warmly for its very friendly and helpful stuff, the awesome breakfast buffet, the beautiful rooms and the good location in Bangkok! If I come to this city again, I surely stay at your place! Thank you very much for everything!

first of all, it's very close to Skylane ( 3 minutes from Chit rom station) and it's surrounded by lots of shopping center, restaurants, coffee shops, McDonalds,etc. Staff services were also good. especially i appreciate Ms.Satitha.
She was kind and it's impressed for me to see her attitude to aid guests with wholeheart.
Thank you Holiday Inn.
i would like to stay next time again

Overall experience at Holiday Inn Ploenchit was great. It's great value for money.
The only disappointment was I am a IHG member and points were never awarded to my stay at the hotel twice over the last 2 months.

A good Holiday Inn in the heart of Bangkok. Apart from a half eaten candy bar left in the mini bar and empty sugar sachets in 2 drawers I really like this hotel mainly due to the Duty Manager we had the pleasure to work with on when the hotel car missed collecting us at the airport on arrival. She was fantastic - could not do enough or apologize more.
The Executive Lounge is pleasant but they need to go more upscale with their evening canapes. Chopped up chicken sausages don't do it as far as I'm concerned.
The pool area abeit simple, was a pleasant respite from business and the city. The foyer and cafes were great too.

Upon check-in i was not given the room that i was given confirmation on instead of 1 king and 1 twin i was given 2 king.
Counter girl did not offer help to do a room change the next day till i need to go down and try my luck then got the room & connected room that i request.
Was given room 802 & 804, as we got into our room find that the room was not really tidy up with missing bathroom towel & toothbrush etc. air con stop working at around 3 in the morning, if you guy gt record as we did call front desk for help.
Quite disappointed as this is the first time i was given such service in holiday inn. after all its still a very good hotel to stay in due to it location.

I had a fab stay recently at Holiday Inn Bangkok. I booked an exec room which was well worth it. Staff on exec floors were excellent. Breakfast plus happy hour in exec lounge were perfect for me.
Really nice room, housekeeping was good, comfortable bed and liked the choice of pillows too.
The Thai Charm restaurant was excellent, staff were friendly and helpful, food was excellent. I found the price very reasonable for a hotel restaurant and would certainly recommend it.
Concierge were excellent, really friendly and helped me out when a trip I had arranged was running late.
Overall fantastic stay and if I visit Bangkok again this would be my hotel of choice.

I stayed here for the 2nd time this year. My first visit was in May 2013 for a week and had the kids suite 454. Once again due to the absolutely fab location and amazing service , stayed here again with 7 friends and their families in 7 rooms. I got the kids suite again 454 and its absolutely amazing. The kids get their own space with a kids bunk bed and PS3 etc. The hotel is located within 5 minutes of the all major shopping malls such as Paragon, Central World, Platinum etc. It is also very close approx 15-20 minutes from all the night life spots. I would stay here again and again and recommend it to all with families and kids cos it is one of the most central and safest locations in Bankok. Cheers to the absolutely supportive and helpful staff whether at reception or at concierge or at bell desk or at the restaurants. Love love love this place. I would say it is one of the best properties of Holiday Inn worldwide!

The only point which should be back to how it was before : the peanuts are not coming (free of charge) with the drinks and this is not nice...

Been staying here at the Holiday Inn Chitlom for several years. The staff remembers me and always makes me feel welcome. It is nice to travel so far and feel so comfortable. Even the shops remember me. The staff goes out of their way to accommodate any business needs I have, translating to mailings. The location is excellent, skytrain station right outside, and plenty of shops and street shopping within walking distance. Close to several highways when I need to visit customers. I recommend this hotel to both business and tourists.

At first I was irritated about my room (connecting room, twin beds, bath tub, facing the BTS and hotel entrance but when I requested a room change this was very courteously accommodated.
Staff and upkeep in this property are outstanding and I am looking forward to a return stay.
One small gripe: club lounge offering in terms of happy hour and breakfast is very small when compared to the neighboring intercontinental, yet still decent enough :)

This hotel I have stayed in on previous a cations , it's good all round hotel with a great Thai restaurant "Thai charm" and excellent staff,how many places can you say that in Thailand..
I think as an ihg hotel the lounge needs to be re vamped to make it more comfortable and friendly because at the moment it feels a bit like a canteen...

I've been staying at this establishment for the last 3 months but I don't feel very recognized as a repeat customer. Apart from a room rate that was 30% higher than my previous rate, I also had to pay THB1,500 for Club access. I hope the establishment will review this policy as I take my monthly trips to Bangkok.
I'm also looking for a reasonable Holiday Inn establishment in KL as well given the frequency of my visits there. I do hope that IHG will take this feedback into consideration.

I have stayed here for years when I come to Bangkok for business. The location is fantastic, right across from the SkyTrain and easy access to the toll roads. The staff is what makes this hotel special. And Charm Thai is one of the best Thai restaurants in the area.

The location is really great, right in the centre with easy access to BTS Chidlom, literally on the doorstep. The hotel is connected with the Intercontinental Hotel which is also a plus. Lots of shopping opportunity in the neighborhood. Likewise many restaurants for all budgets in walking distance. Lumpini Park is just a one kilometer stroll away and very recommendable early in the morning or before sunset. Don't miss it and enjoy some sportive activities or just wander around and relax.

To depend the price and the room you have, it's can be a good choice. Rooms are better in the executive lounge building compare the other building. The Thai restaurant is very good with an excellent service.

Perfect location with very easy access within walking distance to BTS Station, Central World Department Store, Big C Supermarket, Erawan Shrine; etc.
Wi-fi service in limousine is a nice touch and drivers are very friendly in both ways.
Room is clean and comfortable, size is good enough for one or two persons.
Buffet Breakfast was nice with a wide variety of choices as well as an American Breakfast which I ordered in the first morning. Besides, I also ordered for room service twice during midnight and the food quality of room service really need some improvement. The first night I ordered a Beef Burger and the beef seems like grilled for a few times which was quite dry and not juicy at all. The second night I ordered a Triple Decker Sandwich, and all ingredients were dry and cold including fried egg. The bread were toasted but seems long time ago. Ate 2 pieces with no choices at 3am due to starving.
Most of the staff are friendly and wiling to help especially Reception and Concierge. The only downside of service in the hotel was received from the bell counter upon my departure. The Bell Captain himself is polite and helpful. However, one of his team members was having a very bad attitude. When we asked for a roll of tape to pack our stuffs at their counter, he told us that we had to pay for it or give him tips. How ridiculous it was! It was fine if you sell a new roll to me and I paid for it but it wasn't and I don't think it is related to tipping before providing any service!

I had a great stay in HI Ploenchit recently. I stayed in a different room on the 12th Floor. I had wanted to stay in the same room on the 14th Floor but it was occupied. I prefer the standing shower in the previous room compared to the bath tub I had during the last stay. The two girls Chuanpit and Siriluck in the Executive Lounge were excellent hostesses.

the worst part of this hotel is the service of concierge team-they are not at all helpful and not friendly...it is a big concern for your hotel..they did not help us to discuss with the taxi driver and the taxi driver after going some time started telling we will only go by fix rent but i told the bell boy to tell that i know the location and i will go by meter but the driver was stick upon his fare and i had pay it.
so my suggestions is you develop the safety of your guest.
