Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New Year getaway As usual another good stay in the excellent hotel in Silom area of town. Although not on the doorstep of Sukhumvit (and this for many could be seen as a plus) there are many things around that make this particular location more than satisfactory. It's a simply 5 min stroll to the closest Sky Train station and within close proximity to the Pier for the River Taxis (and restaurant transfers). Close to Patpong Night Market and closer still to Silom Village. This time I had booked an Exec Club Room - and so therefore had access to the Lounge for drinks and lite bites in the evening and breakfast had I wished to. Recommend heading down to Lobby Restaurant for a far far wider selection of foods and drinks for breakfast. The room (as always) was clean and comfortable with fresh fruit and little chocs, however was rather disappointed in the "upgrade" as on this occasion it was a corner room, however having stayed here before in an exec room there was zero difference to a non corner room. Compared to previous upgrade at Holiday Inn (Ploenchit) this was indeed a bit of a let down as the other location in town had a noticeable upgrade difference. Hoping it was a one off..... Overall, still an excellent hotel with wonderful staff members and good value for money in Bangkok. January 8, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Value for money and excellent location I stayed at this hotel for 9 nights in November 2013 and enjoyed it. I am a Platinum member but as I checked in pretty late I cannot comment on the PC preferred check-in process. I was disappointed that I was not placed on the Executive floor and did not get an upgrade which I normally get all over resulting my Platinum status. The breakfast even though almost same everyday was good and the hosts were very good. There is enough variety that one can enjoy the breakfast for a week to ten days without getting bored. The servers need additional training though as they were not able to determine whether the guest had finished the food or not and in 9 days it happened 3 times that I brought the food and went to get something else and my plate was gone. In general, good experience would recommend because of location and cleanliness but would want to encourage the facility to take better care of the PC members. January 7, 2014

Unfortunately, those employees didn't know how to refill the coffee maker or make coffee. But what can you expect when employees from housekeeping are sent to assist the restauarant staff I have stayed on this property many times over the years and found everything to be memorable, bu definitely NOT THIS HOLIDAY SEASON. My wife and I have been coming here for many years, in fact it was the Crowne Plaza in the earlier days and the now Hi owners have made terrific upgrade changes throughout. When we return it always seems like our second home. Our very recent visit was for two weeks on the Club level where as always we were spoilt by the genuine out going by all the staff who could not do enough to make our stay welcome. This I have not experienced anywhere else. Room perfect and very comfortable, clean and quiet, plenty of clean towels and toiletries. Food is good and correctly priced. The only criticism I have is the water temperature of the outside pool is too cold, particularly for elder persons. Geographically well sited hotel on Silom Road giving access to Sky Train, shops, restaurants and all forms of local transport. Enjoy your stay! December 31, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good for the price but not perfect This hotel is OK, you get what you pay for. The room seemed clean enough, but not perfectly clean.. The staff at the front desk were very nice and quick but were pushy about upgrading the room upon arrival. The people outside were not efficient getting me a taxi, I waited at least 15 minutes before giving up and going on the street to get one myself.. The food was so so and they were 15 minutes late giving me my wake up call!! Luckily I had used an alarm or I would have been very stressed.. Good location and room comfortable but not as nice as other Holiday Inn's.. December 27, 2013

Having 3 lunch at Kowloon restaurant but the restaurant refuse to charge to my room and said restaurant is not belong to Holiday Inn Hotel! Hard to get taxi at the hotel front main door, always has to get taxi outside hotel road side. Suggested to bell boys to get the hotel to fix a turning light with Taxi pointing to the hotel so taxi drivers can see and come in. December 27, 2013

Since I hv been sick and I contacted the hotel for changing my reservation, the request accepted. When I arrived the hotel and checked in, they got special desk for IHG customers whcih I didnt find usual in other IHG hotels. The lady was polite, kind and always wear a smile. I got my room upgraded too, another bonus! My impression of Holiday Inn hotel is that it used to be smaller(eg. Shanghai Downtown holiday Inn). Howevver, the room in Holiday Inn Silom is spacious, with warm clour tone, very comfortable. When checked out my internet fee was waived as it's the hotel policy starting nxt year all clients will hv free internet. This early bonus to me seems to be a ncie Christmas present. thaks again! Another thing I like best is the complimentary drink offered. I was in a rush after checkout, so I had a quick drink at the Harli Bar, the free cappuccino is very nice , with 3 homemade cookies, which made the tea time an enjoyable moment for me before heading towards the airport. Definitely I will come back to this hotel again for my nxt visit to Bangkok!! December 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by just before xmas This hotel has some of the best staff in any of the hotels I have stayed in over the last year they are always helpful and know a great deal of knowledge and information about the area. The club lounge has a new menu and the food is very good both in the evening at happy hour and at breakfast time a wide selection to choose from and the cook on duty will make almost anything to order in a couple of minutes at breakfast time. The location of the hotel means that it is both central to some night life while being sheltered fro other things ongoing in Bkk . A few minutes walk from two skytrain stations and good connections to the expressway network as well. The bar in the lobby is well stocked and has entertainment at times while nearby there are good eateries and themed bars. all told this is a good place to stay. December 25, 2013

The value for the food and services provided are excellent and any extra needs are dealt with quickly and efficiently. What make particular hotels stand out are the staff. The staff at silom where fantastic and should be commended. Front desk were professional and knowledgable. Bar staff were friendly and engaging. Cleaning staff were excellent but unobtrusive. The loyalty scheme is also great. Use it to get free stays, don't expect the points to be of great value outside the brand. What is obvous is the preferential treatment you receive if you do participate. December 15, 2013

However, bathroom in the old tower (standard room) would need renovation, especially water temperature and pressure (taps are old). Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Not worth staying Greeting us at the main entrance was a very friendly and helpful bellman who delivered a quick and proper luggage service right at we arrived. We're impressed by the elegant lobby with spacious and comfortable waiting area where guest can take a short rest after a long way to your hotel and wait for the check in procedure. We were assigned in room 1202 in the old tower where the interior furnitures and equipments were not quite new and modern. In return for this, our room had a stunning view to the pool and surrounding buildings. We entered the bathroom to take a quick shower before continuing our schedule and found our room was the handicapped room. We're fine with this but there was yellow water running out when we opened the tap at bathtub. We had to wait for a while for water to get clear. Moreover the bathtub stopper chain was rusty and couldn't block water so that we called someone to fix it. After a while, a Housekeeper came to our room, she did something in the bathroom and left without saying anything. Then we checked and found she sticked the stopper into bathtub so tight that the water couldn't drain. We waited for a while but no one came back. In order not to get our schedule postponed, I called the operator to cancel this request and said we would call back later. Finally we decided to take the stopper out of the bathtub and took the shower. However, there was no bathroom curtain so when we opened the hand shower, water flashed over the floor and it's totally wet. I think the room should have been inspected carefully to fix all of these defects before assigning for guest so that guest could really enjoy the services of 4 star hotel. The morning after that, we went down to have breakfast at your restaurant. The foods were not quite good and diversity as our expectations. After finishing half of our meals, no staff came to invite us tea or coffee which is certainly offered at a 4-5 star hotel but not here. I had to call the waitress for this. They set up dressing on the food counters but there was no dressing dish and I had to call the waiter for this again. We don't know whether your hotel noticed and put an alert on our room about our complaint before but no receptionist asked us about this when we did the check out procedure. We had such an amazing time in Thailand but if the stay in your hotel were more convenient and comfortable, this trip would definitely exceed our expectation and satisfaction. Though it's only 1 night stay but it effected a lot to our experience this time.Hope that with our constructive comments above, the infrastructure and service quality in your hotel will be concerned and improved soon so that Holiday Inn Silom can be the best choice of tourists when they come to Thailand. The hotel is conveniently located near Silom and Patpong Market, a stone's throw away via Taxi to MBK or other shoping district. The hotel service gets better and made sure they rectify previpus mistakes. From the time we stepped in to the the last moment we left the hotel, the experienced was wonderful. There is nothing to fault. The breakfast is wonderful and have improved since I was last there. Would be good if they can include Egg Benedict. Great Hotel with 5 * Service. December 3, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and room We stayed here for 3 days earlier this month, everything was great, especially as we had landed at 7 am after flying from the UK and we got into our room by 10:30 which was a great bonus. Room and all the amenities were fine. Only 2 very small niggles is the lack of free WiFi and the pool is not very inspiring - just a rectangle surrounded by tower blocks, however this is not really what you come to Bangkok for. Staff are very helpful and the location is a good base for seeing the city. Would definitely go back if ever in Bangkok again. December 1, 2013
