A very restful experience with friendly, courteous staff.. Close enough to Basingstoke for shopping in the town centre. Take the bus if you don't want the hassle of parking.
There are several National Trust places of interest and the Milestones Museum in the vicinity

1 Room was OK but very dark and a bit depressing
2 Bathroom was good but the hand basin had a nasty brown stain in it due to a damaged area which was a bit of putting.
3 Restaurant service gave priority to coach parties at the expense of other guests and the alternative arrangements were in one case not very comfortable and in another the room was very cold.
I quite like the hotel and have been staying there for many years and have seen many changes some not always for the best

The hotel was the venue for a recent training course, the provider of which uses IHG's Academy services. All staff delivered the experience I expected and encourage my return if my family needed to visit the area although, unfortunately, there are no leisure facilities here. The room was well presented & comfortable with a modern bathroom. I found all food to be excellent. Biggest negative: the bar prices.

As regular Holiday Inn guests we were disappointed by the small room area. Insufficient parking in the car park nearest to reception but plenty if continue round. Only two disabled bays in front area near reception, more at the back.
Bed not as comfortable as the usual ones for HI.
Staff excellent and breakfast good.

Room very badly isolated could here the neighbour Breathe then the room next to you and the one living on top everytime he moved was like ther was an elephant Walking around in the room. Restaurant service was also unfortunatly quite bad. I ordered food and got my chicken and fries after 3 other guests that arrived 10 mins after me had both their starter and main served... i requested water to my wine and it took around 6 minutes to get it even though there was a max of 10 guestes in the restaurant and 3 people serving. Only positive is that the staff in the reception did their work really smooth on checkin and check out and all staff was really friendly when meeting them in the corridors.

I have been a Platinum member of the Holiday Inn IHG club for 10 years and in all my Stays Basingstoke do have to most tasteless Breakfast I have ever had. Slow Cooked Brioled (New Word for Slow boiled in Oil) eggs are a Joke, why are the not fried/Griddled correctly? Half cooked sausages and dried out Bacon. The Scrambled eggs are like porridge and the Poached Eggs take about 20 Minutes so get to the table and are like Gob stoppers. You are normally safe with the Holiday Inn Breakfast selection but not in Basingstoke.
I would suggest you go to the Garage and get a breakfast sandwich, better VFM and has taste.

Easy check in and out, room clean with an excellent size TV. Quiet location, bathroom and shower just as I like it and as good as at home.
Staff very welcoming and polite.
Breakfast was served in two different rooms due to the main restaurant being refurbished on arrival. Both rooms were pleasant, clean cutlery, very good choice of food.
The overall value for two nights stay with breakfast in a quality hotel was excellent.
When visiting family in that area again I would choose the Holiday Inn without hesitation and would also recommend it to family and friends.
I have decided to choose the Holiday Inn for my stay while travelling back from an overseas holiday in October, as I was very impressed with the whole experience which is far superior than other hotel chains, which may be cheaper, but I feel you get what you pay for.

We stayed as a spontaneous one night stop over on our way back to Essex from a few days on the South Coast, not fancying three trips round the M25 in two days with plans to visit friends in West London on the Saturday. The location was perfect, but I had meant to book a Holiday Inn Express and in my rush to tick boxes online, didn't notice it was a Holiday Inn ... full stop ! However on our arrival the staff bent over backwards to smooth my error over and ensure that me and my nine year old got the internet access and big breakfast we both needed - and what a breakfast ! The duty manager couldn't do enough for us and pointed out all the restaurant's delights which we duly sampled - my son LOVED the pancake machine - resulting in an eating contest between the two of us (it turned out this guy was brought up in my hometown too!) Ahead of that we made full use of the large TV screen in the room, the spotless bathroom and two wonderfully comfy beds. A really good experience from start to finish, albeit a brief one and recommended for anyone in the same situation looking for a stress free stay to break a long journey on the way back from a good holiday...

Stayed in the Basingstoke Holiday Inn last week and had a very comfortable nights stay !
Room was upgraded to executive room which had plenty of space and a comfortable bed !
Shower and bath combined worked very well and both were used !
I ate in the hotels restaurant and had the Indian Buffet which was really good value and had great variety !
I did have a great deal on the room through my points but felt I would have paid more to stay had I not had the offer !

I have stayed here a number of times before and have always been impressed by the friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
This occasion has been even better!
From the General Manager, to the housekeeping staff (in no particular order), all members of the team are welcoming, friendly and have a seemingly endless ability to want to please.
I am not able to recommend this hotel highly enough.
Having stayed at alternatives in Basingstoke, I can honestly say that you will not find a friendlier staff, and a more peaceful/restful and relaxing environment.

Overall a good stay. The room was not massively spacious but very pleasant and appeared to be recently decorated. We were pleasantly surprised as the outside of the hotel didn't look that promising! The food at the bar was pretty good too.
The only downside we experienced was a lot of noise from banging doors in the corridor outside the room, especially early morning, which we think was coming from the fire doors and a staff/housekeeping room nearby. Reception staff said that nothing could be done as the only way to close the doors was to let them slam shut...
This didn't spoil our stay too much though, so overall would recommend.

I visit fairly regularly and I admit the menu can become a little repetitive, however you can never beat a good steak ! Cooked to perfection and the restaurant staff were as always perfect. Quick to answer requests and the first thing they ask after they have seated you is do you want a drink. Amazing how many restaurants leave you waiting 10 minutes to read the menu before offering a drink.
A good Indian buffet on Wednesday helped to break up the menu boredom and while it's not as good as an Indian restaurant its not far off.
A great stay and friendly staff help make this a home from home.

We have to paid for Wifi services however the restriction below is unreasonable: only allow up to 2 devices to connect at the same time which these 2 devices are first 2 logon the Wifi.
For example, my ipad and phone are logon the Wifi system, which is alright can use the internet services, however, I can logout my phone from Wifi then let my Netbook to logon the Wifi. In fact I have only 2 devices connected at the same time.

I stay at this hotel fairly regularly and I have to say that the staff really do make this hotel a home from home. They are always willing to help and any time you have an issue they go that extra mile to help or resolve your problem. The rooms are always clean and tidy. If you get bored of the menu then they will order you in a pizza or takeaway or change any item around on the menu with no argument or complaint and always with a smile. I stay in a lot of hotels and it’s the staff that comes first and the environment second. In my option they have both. However no hotel is 100% and if I have any complaint it’s the poor mobile phone signal which is a bit hard to blame on the hotel, but it has the advantage when you need a quiet night; works fine in the lobby. Also there is no gym on site which would be nice, but you can use the local facilities in the town centre, which are very good and at least they have not tried to squeeze a couple of machines into a cupboard like so many other hotels who claim to have a gym.

You can honestly say that there are few things worse than being away from home with a very bad cold.
So, why do I write a review?
Well, simply put, the team at this hotel are fantastic. I was feeling terrible, and the whole team rallied round and were very attentive and helpful in my 'hour of need'!
I was staying for two nights, both of which were looking to be most unmemorable - however, the attentive staff and comfort of the room meant that I could recuperate and recover, and managed to 'endure' the office life after the rest I was not expecting.
Great service and great comfort in my 'hour of need'.
Thank you to the GM and his whole team.
p.s. I note 'amenities' as a con, mainly due to being a 15 minute walk from the centre of Basingstoke, however for this trip - it wasn't a factor in my overall rating!

A hotel that appears quite plain from the outside but certainly not on the inside. The Staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly. No request has been too much trouble. Rooms are quiet, relaxing and great for working in if you have to work after hours like I do. Plenty of free off road parking. The internet connection is fast and reliable. The restaurant caters for early breakfast (6.30am) if that’s what you need. Breakfasts have taken a new turn with pancakes and Maple syrup now on tap plus all the traditional goodies. Evening meals are of good quality and I am looking forward to the new menu due out soon. Theme nights have coming back for a spell which will be great for regular guests like myself and new ones alike. Chef specials most evening reduces the monotony for regular clients struggling to find something different on the menu. Book in advance and rates are very reasonable. If you’re staying for a leisure break kids eat free so you will have a little extra left in your pocket for a visit to Lego land just 40 mins away. Pool or Gym for all guests is available to use in facilities just 2 mins drive away for free. Management pride themselves on working with guests to get the most out of their stay. Guest appreciation evenings allow the General Manager and staff to get to know guests and discuss potential improvements and changes. In my opinion this is a jewel of hotel, hidden in Basingstoke but well worth searching out.

Very friendly and helpful staff.
Provide service to allow you to relax.
Good rooms and quality food in both bar and restaurant.
Rooms are quite and comfortable, more so than most city hotels. I have not stayed in the standard rooms for some time, so it would be unfair for me to comment on those - my review is based on the Executive rooms.
Facilities in the room are comparable with higher priced stays elsewhere.
Although no sports facilities on site.....
Don't miss out on using the very high quality facilities at the Basingstoke Leisure Centre in Festival Place, courtesy of the Holiday Inn.
Recommend you give this hotel a chance to impress.
Only draw-back for outgoing people is that this is a 15 minute walk from the centre of Basingstoke, although, only a 3-5 minute taxi journey costing around £5.

As this is a conference centre hotel I was AMAZED to find that there is no mobile coverage anywhere in the hotel, or close by.
Also in this day and age to expect guests to pay £16.00 for WiFi, especially when you have no phone service is ludicrous.
There is one thing that is exemplary about this hotel - the staff are excellent - helpful, welcoming and I think let down by the property
they have to administer.
I also thought the food was quite expensive. £31.00 for two bowls of chilli, a coke and one beer seemed a lot for lunch.

I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions recently and always found the staff to be happy, courteous and extremely helpful.
I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel (and their staff) to any traveller, no matter what the reason is for your stay.
