As a frequent traveller you notice when hotels start to feel tired and staff become jaded.
The Holiday Inn Basingstoke seems to have bucked the trend. It has always been a good hotel, but after returning after nearly a year the hotel seems revitalised. As a business traveller I want accommodation I can trust to be consistent which enables me to relax after a long day.
All the staff were enthusiastic and helpful - the rooms are spotless and more importantly comfortable. The bar menu offered a good selection and it was served with a smile and tasted great. The redecoration of the restaurant area is a big improvement and makes the space feel airy.
Well done to the management team staff - I am looking forward to my next stay.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by FAZ1972 GOOD HOTEL BUT STAFF NEED TO BE MORE FRIENDLY/COURTEOUS
Hotel is overall good for stay. However, there is no lift available for first floor, you can use only stairs which with small kids is quite difficult. Staff is not much friendly. I have requested for extra duvet and pillow, but staff said there is no extra pillow and duvet as Hotel is fully book. Tissue paper in bathroom were not replenished by HK. Aircon was not cooling the room properly.
On the other side, furniture quality was good and room was nicely made. There was no noise and you can sleep properly. Good value for money.

Great hotel with friendly staff. The hotel itself is an old building, which should not prevent you from staying. Once you get inside the bedrooms are clean and spacious compared to some, showers are powerful and refreshing after a long day at work. The food really depends on the chef on the day, you either get good food or exceptional food, but that said I have enjoyed every meal.
