Check in was very fast and friendly. The room was beautiful and had a ceiling fan that was great. The pool was awesome and the water was warm. The fitness club was extensive and very clean. The breakfast was great and had a lot of options. Would highly recommend this property.

This is a very clean facility. I went for a weekend concert and what they do not advertise is they have a shuttle that costs $20 for a two way trip which I paid $20 to park at Tiger Stadium and had to drive there so I wish they would advertise this because I certainly would have took advantage of that. I had a king bed and I have seen the remarks about the pillows somewhere but I forgot to bring my pillow and had two decorator postage stamp pillows and two postage stamp usable pillows. They may be saving money this way but it's not practical at all. When I got there there was a luggage carrier available but when I went to check out two days later an elderly couple was using it and taking their time and the staff not sure what his name was Anwar or something like that but he didn't really seem concerned that I needed help. Had to make three trips to get all my stuff out and he just smiled as I walked by I even dropped some stuff in the exit and he never even came over to try and help me out the door so I wasn't really impressed with him. The shower door had a slight opening at the bottom and got the bath mat soaked but I didn't even bother telling him because he was not really interested. When I came back in to drop my card off I noticed the elderly couple was gone so I said something about the luggage carrier and he told me it was being used again. I realize a lot of people have rolling luggage but I don't. The buffet breakfast was okay but you had to pay $1 for orange juice and there was not a big selection. Eggs, grits, biscuits and regular white gravy. A small bowl of fruit. But the food was good.

It started with the check in for me, the staff put me in a double bed room and I requested a king bed.....They offered me a smoking room and said that I booked a less expensive room. I was not greeted as priority club member and was not treated as such............Our organization spends a lot of money with IHG every week and a lot of us are road hogs.........The food service was just as awful.......I ordered one thing on the menu and got something totally different.......The morning of check out was even worse, I had to go down to the front desk to receive my bill......When you have an early flight, this does not work.......I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS LOCATION AGAIN AND I WILL NOT RECOMEND THIS PROPERTY TO NO ONE........

Staff was great. Didn't use, but the workout room looks very well equiped. Outdoor pool looked nice, but again, didn't use. The room was fine. The Sporting News Grill has zero pizzaz and the chairs are completely worn out. Wait staff poorly dressed. Drags the rest of the experience down. The restaurant is where you lost a star across the board. The last item is not your fault, but you along with the other hotels on the block need to get the city to post some directions to get to Bennnigton Ave. There is NO sign heading west at all. There is one small sign heading east. This is a very large diservice to all all of your guests. It is not fun getting stuck going North on College when you want to go South, especially considering how congested College always is.

A relatively new facility that is very nice. Everything you could expect of a hotel in this category. Having a bar and restaurant is an added bonus.

This is definitely one of the best Holiday Inns I've stayed at so far. Traveling the country is part of my job, so I have stayed at countless number of Hotels, and I hope this is a useful review. The gym is amazing, with the new equipments, you can do a full workout and not get bored. Location is perfect, there are multiple restaurants and shops within walking distance. The building looks clean and new, both inside and outside, the lobby has a very welcoming atmosphere. Staff is absolutely professional, in fact they provided the friendliest customer service I've seen while I was there on my two-week stay. I enjoy interacting with such a diverse group of front desk attendants, it certainly assures you that the hotel is at an international level. After only the second day, she already remembers my name, though they sometimes lack the absolute fluency in English, I was totally impressed and comfortable, and I did not have any communication problem at all. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is traveling to Baton Rouge.

I'd give this location an A overall. Staff was pleasant and competent. Location is great for LSU, Barnes and Noble, shopping, food, etc. I was highly impressed with the bar and food. Great breakfast and the free drinks at the bar each night were a nice touch. Room was clean. This may seem strange, but this hotel has the best elevator I have seen. It is extremely fast. Rooms are clean and well maintained. One small point was a room service tray in the hallway that remained for 2+ days.
The only negative, and I am reaching, was the awful traffic around the location. This shouldn't impact your stay and it is overall a great hotel.

as I waited to check in, the front desk staffer continued on her computer task; she did not look up as i greeted her. She never made eye contact and finally asked for my info. After she finished she left the key on the desk and walked away....I finally got the attention of another staffer and was given the key. I remained pleasant even though a bit bewildered by such unprofessionalism.
At no time did any front desk staff (in my comings and goings on a two day stay) make eye contact or utter a word. Very bad attitude.
The breakfast was terrible and the dining room unkept and staff disinterested, also. Not even any coffee in the canisters! Room was not as clean as in my past stays; the non-smoking room smelled of smoke. This hotel going downhill fast, and it is mostly because of the unprofessionalism of the staff.

Check-in is always speedy. The rooms are totally comfortable and functional and the exercise room is first class. This is an excellent hotel in the Holiday Inn chain and very well managed. I stay there everytime I am in Baton Rouge.

What impressed me was the hotel's pet friendly policy. This is my second stay with my dog, and I found the experience to be a very good one. The staff was friendly and helpful. Any time I am in Baton Rouge, I will stay at the Holiday Inn Express.

I requested a hotel shuttle a day in advance for an early flight and was confirmed, yet the next morning it showed up for half an hour late and almost made me late for my flight. I know the shuttle works for several hotels, so it is very busy, and I would not have minded taking a taxi, but I did not appreciate it being so late when I specifically scheduled it and then paid for it.
Other than that, this hotel was one of the more beautiful ones I've stayed at, and the front desk service was extremely courteous.

My "Fair" Rating is based on this one observation. The overall stay was good to excellent.
We stay here frequently and have noticed that each time a $4.95 surcharge has been added to our bill for each day. We frequently stay at Holiday Inn's and Holiday Inn Expresses and incur no similar surcharge. I asked this morning when I checked out what the surcharge might be.
The representative didn't know but then read from a note behind the counter that it was for things such as the wireless network, the gym, the telephone and other staff services.
These services are all listed as part of the benefits of the basic room fee! All or most of the other Holiday Inn hotels also offer these services but do not charge beyond the advertised rate for their use.
This seems to be a rather unelegant and somewhat dishonest way to advertise a competitive rate and then pad the bill on checkout. I seriously hope that this hotel with either advertise their room rates five dollars higher than they do or eliminate the surcharge. It's quite annoying to be charged extra for costs that are advertised as part of the benefits of staying there.

Have stayed here several times while traveling and have always had a good to excellent experience. The staff is friendly and the facility is clean and convenient. I will return if circumstances allow.
During our last two stays - hot water in the shower was a problem. The first night, I thought there was no hot water and called maintenance. After a while the maintenance man came and showed me that the selector valve had slipped and the hottest water was mid-range on the knob with the hottest setting producing much cooler water. When my wife took a shower later, the hot setting had expanded to nearly the whole mid-range and she had difficulty finding cool.
When we returned a couple of weeks later, and in a different room, hot water was once again not where it is expected on the selector knob. Hot should be at the Hot setting and Cold should be at Cold ... period.
This hotel is otherwise clean and comfortable although I'm unsure that so many pillows are a positive.
My main complaint is with the Sports Bar where "free" breakfast is also served. We ate evening meals there and were underwhelmed. The first night I ordered an 8 ounce steak and was informed that they were out of 8 ounce steaks but had 12 ounce steaks (at a higher price#. It seemed plausable to me that they could have cut 4 ounces off of a 12 ounce steak and filled my order ... or served me a 12 instead and took the loss. Yet I ordered the more expensive steak and paid more and had more food than I preferred.
My wife ordered hot tea with her meal; A generic teabag and a hot cup of water cost $2.95 when free tea bags are supplied in the room! Seems ridiculously high to me.
Breakfasts are free with the stay - except for drinks #other than coffee or water# and tips. Orange juice costs extra #for example) which seems to be petty. This requires a waiter and an expected tip when we could serve ourselves as we do at Holiday Inn Express hotels and not have to wait on service.

I stayed at this location about 4 years ago for a couple of weeks while on business. Was passing through Baton Rouge on my way west and it was a perfect stopping point. Locations was excellent in all ways on my first stay and has not changed one bit. Excellent staff and love that Sporting News Grill!

I was so pleased during my short stay at the Holiday Inn Baton Rouge I-10. Very clean and neat; the lobby, fitness facility, and my room. The staff at the front desk is very professional and with excellent customer service skills. If in the future I am assigned to work in Baton Rouge, I know the place that will make feel home; The Holiday Inn at 4848 Constitution Ave.

The hotel is wonderful... from the convenient location, to the accomodations to the professional and prompt hotel staff. With the exception of the sports bar I'm assuming its run by different management. The service was slow and rushed. I understand that the place closes at 11 on the weekends. With the LSU game at 6:30... by the time you get thru traffic and get checked in you are left with about 20 minutes before it closes. I think someone should re-organize the work schedule and on late game nights stay open later or not rush us to order then take forever to get the food and drinks ( and we only ordered appetizers and water#. we were treated like we were a burden. I will stay at the hotel again #already the 3rd time) but pretty much done with the sports bar.... had a complaint everytime we have been there

I have stayed at this location on several occassions and found that it has always been a pleasant experience. Clean facility, freindly employees and central acess of the location make this one of my favorites. It is the only place I stay when in the Baton Rouge Market.

I have not stayed at this property in a long time. This was the only IHC hotel I could get for the LSU game and almost did not book because of a bad experience 3+ years ago, I am so happy I did book. This Holiday Inn is totally excellent in every way. I recommend this property to anyone!!
