Great hotel with a restaurant and bar. Right off the Harper road exit.

Enjoyed my stay. Rooms could use additional plus/charging stations for cell phones and another chair (there was a large empty space next to the television), but otherwise had a very comfortable and easy visit.

After traveling 560 miles with our two young grandchildren, ages 6 and 8, we checked into the Beckley HI Express at midnight, Room 200. After unloading the luggage and preparing the exhausted children for bed, we found that both the hot and cold faucets on the tub and sink provided hot water, no cold water. This was the case even after letting the cold and hot run for 4 to 5 minutes. Thus, no shower, no bath and brushing teeth with bottled water we purchased. I called Emily at the Front Desk and she said this happened every so often in this room. First, anyone that knows anything about water systems knows that this is a plumbing error that has not been corrected. Management has chosen to keep the room open for guests even though they know about the problem. I tried to locate a contact at the Customer Service Corporate level but could not locate any such contact on their website which is again questionable but possibly I simply did not see it on the website. I will find a means to report this experience to Corporate for this reflects extremely poor judgement by management. Emily said she would try to locate another room and with the children already asleep we chose to simply stay in the room until we checked out in the morning. I hope the HI Group investigates to learn why this room was not closed until the problem was corrected. I would have great concerns about anyone in management that decided to keep this room open for guests. As a Gold Member of the HI Club, I know this is not the norm for the HI Group of hotels. I must say, I was extremely displeased about our accommodation and on our future trips back and forth to Toronto to visit our son, we will not be staying at the HI Express in Beckley.

Stopped in Beckley on our way to Charlotte, NC area and found this hotel to be worth the stop! It's updated, clean and the room we had was large. Would definitely stay here again.

Great service especially at the front desk. Ample convenient parking available. wifi service was worthless as I was able to view one page in 20 minutes. Customer service stated that there were too many users. Hotel room needs more outlets and USB ports would be very beneficial.
