Comfortable beds, and nice location. I just think it was a bit pricier than I would have expected May 20, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The friendliest staff member Upon check in we just met a man who made our stay more unforgettable as giving us a free upgrade for one night as I celebrated my birthday with my boyfriend. He was also very helpful/welcoming/friendly and not too pushy with the information. He told us as much information as we needed at that time and also offered his help in the future. We appreciated his help and did his job very well! Congrats! Also we met on the 7th floor corridor with one of the staff -I would say a manager or a guest relation staff- and he was also very friendly and made sure that we put the dnd sign on the right position and asked if we do not need maybe the housekeeping service. It is good that there is someone who cares about the guests needs. May 16, 2015

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A disappointing experience We were in Belfast for a reunion and chose the Holiday Inn as IHG club members and for its location. We stayed for 3 nights but 2 of these were marred by functions at the hotel. Our first night was fine, then on the second there was a large rave which we encountered on our return to the hotel for a drink with friends at 11pm. We found the bar closed, stressed staff and angry guests both old and young who had been disturbed by the constant fire alarms being set off. Some of those attending the rave were staggering drunk in the public areas trying to get the bar to open. One guest (a police woman) had already called the police to deal with the situation which clearly had got out of hand. The following morning when I spoke to reception to check that there was not another event planned for the Sunday evening. The guy there joked 'oh yes we have another rave and have arranged for the alarms to go off again'. This was totally inappropriate. When we returned to the hotel on Sunday evening we were met by a loud crowd from another event on the steps that we had to walk through in order to enter the hotel, again the bar was closed. On checking out Monday morning we spoke to the Manager about our experience. He was apologetic and credited us with extra rewards points. This was the only recognition of our membership. The hotel clearly needs to either vet its external functions or provide alternative access and bar arrangements for guests. Staff training would also help. Although our room on level 5 was fine and once inside we were not disturbed by the noise from these events, this was not a cheap stay and of our most recent Holiday Inn experiences this was the most disappointing. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by avoid if you can from 3am till 6am impossible to sleep do drunk people returning to the rooms. in the morning I want to speak with the duty manager he told me will come to talk to me after breakfast, but I found him outside smoking with other member of staff April 30, 2015
