Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Time for a major over-haul While I truly enjoy the staff at the Grand-Montana Billings it is becoming increasingly difficult to make a choice to stay there due to the uncomfortable nature of the room. It is time to remodel and update each room to a standard that reflects the quality of a Holiday Inn. I have found better hotels within the chain that would be considered budget hotels. It's time to make this place shine once again. January 13, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Back to the Future First and foremost I will commend the staff and say that the service and attitudes of the core reception team are fantastic. Travis at the Front Desk went above and beyond the level of service expected as Did the shuttle Driver Micheal. Everyone from the housekeeping staff up to management were courteous and took the time to say hello and inquire about my stay. That said, the property is a bit on the dive side and needs a serious updating. From the over the top loud waterfall in the lobby to the worn out décor and loose carpets throughout. The rooms were equipped with older heat / AC units that were so loud and blew so much heat you want to open a window, and then would power down to freezing point. Combining that with the hard beds and uncomfortable pillows leaves for a less than restful sleep. I hope this feedback motivates the property owner to inject some cash into the updating as I was staying to attend an annual trade show and heard from many other guests similar thoughts and opinions of the hotel. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel below acceptable standards This property obviously lacks sufficient management attention to maintenance and housekeeping. The bathroom was a wreck and the housekeeping staff failed to clean my room after the first night. (I stayed two nights). Bathroom had a scum buildup in the shower, the curtain rod was busted (pulled out from the wall), and the tempering valve in the shower didn't work. The thermostate in the room's heater wasn't working so it was either running full hot or cold. They did come and reattach the shower curtain rod. It was not really fixed, but I could live with it. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Uncomfortable stay and poor accomadations Stayed two nights. Upon check in, the room was extremely hot - only a high and low fan adjustment on the heater, no adjustment. The shower head was either clogged or deteriorated - could not shower. At 6 am of the first morning, hear loud noises and knocking on door next to our room 1134, Hotel Security and Police - very audible words to the affect of "we know your in there, come out" several times. We're now wide awake. The second morning we had no hot water, only cold water. Called the front desk several times until finally getting an answer and told whomever answered about the problem. They stated someone will be down right away - never happened. Took cold showers and now have colds. This was the poorest stay and service experienced at a IHG hotel. Will not return to this facility! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by New Year's Eve 2014/2015 The room was well furnished and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The bar prices were reasonable; I just wish there had been a bigger selection of beers and spirits. Overall I had a good experience. January 3, 2015
