Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not too bad, but definitely not great either.... The property is a much older property that has had a cosmetic lift. It was ok for a single night stay but nothing more. My stay was a reward night stay and I'm glad I didn't spend any money to stay at this property. The lobby and restaurant area were decent. At arrival, there was a line so the check in process took over 30 minutes. There was only one person at the front desk checking in almost 9 people. I was little perturbed when my turned arrived to check in. Petty as it may seem, I was not greeted and recognized as a Gold Elite member, nor was I offered a drink and breakfast voucher for having to wait to check in. This may not have been a big deal if I had not witnessed the other guests checking in before me receiving multiple complimentary vouchers for their inconvenience. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly and seemed to be accomodating as best as possible. I ate both dinner and breakfast in the restaurant. The food was no more than adequate. On both occasions, the food was at best luke warm. For dinner, I ordered grilled tilapia. It took almost an hour for my food to arrive and again at best, it was luke warm. For breakfast, everything was buffet but it seemed as if the food wasnt at the right temperature. The fruit served (cut pineapples and melons) was not chilled and the hot foods were luke warm. The pricing was a little expensive, especially for the quality of the food. My room for the most part was clean. The carpet was extremely dusty around the edges. The bedskirt on the bed was filthy as if it had never been washed since being placed on the bed. There were all types of stains on the bedskirt that you could tell had trickled down to the floor, so there were stains on the carpet around the bed. The bed squeeked every time you moved and the pillows were definitely not up to the typical IHG standards. The property is located very close to the interstate and the airport so there was a lot of outside noise that was disturbing and made it hard to sleep. Again, I'm glad I did not spend money for this stay. I definitely would not stay again unless it is the only available hotel in the area. I chose this location because it was close to Birmingham Southern and I absolutely love the IHG brand. I travel quite frequently for work and IHG properties are my first choice when looking for somewhere to stay. However, I definitely in the future will either have to stay at another brand or stay further out at another IHG property. March 3, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Old and Dirty The staff was always courteous. However, the actual hotel is horrible. The refrigerator was so loud it woke me up several times during the night; I had to unplug it for my last night there. The television picture clarity was awful, so bad that I could not read the ticker symbols scrolling across the screen. Overall the carpets throughout the hotel were very dirty and the walls and windows must be made of paper. I could hear every sound outside the hotel, I even checked to see if my window was open. Overall the bathroom was not very nice either; the shower area was obviously very old and needed to be refurbished. The mattress had a big dip in it, making it uncomfortable to sleep in. Not an enjoyable stay at all March 3, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable surroundings; very good service I was very pleased with the Holiday Inn Birmingham Airport Hotel. It was very convenient to drop off my car. This hotel had a very nice bar. There were many others also at the bar - I would say that the patrons enjoyed their experience at the bar. The hotel staff at the front desk was outstanding. They suggested several different restaurant options. This hotel met my expectations! February 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service....Great Location My only regret with staying here is I wish i could have stayed longer to enjoy the experience. My daughter and I travel alot for Track meets. This has been one of the best stays we ever had. The customer service was excellent from everyone we encountered. The staff seems to really enjoy what they do. I loved the convenience of the restaurant and the food was very good and not over priced. To top it off ... the price for the room was surprisingly reasonable considering how nice this location is.
