Nice Hotel with excellent staff

I stay quite regularly at this hotel as it offers good value for money and has, quite simply, the most friendly and welcoming staff you could imagine, I have always been made to feel welcome and valued as a customer. The food is of a good quality and is served until quite late in both the restaurant and bar areas with a room service menu available until 11pm which fits well with my late working hours pattern. Sadly I've not yet had time to use the gym or pool but the rooms are recently refurbished to a nice standard although some may find the bathrooms a little on the small side - not a problem for me personally. Breakfast is quick and efficient buffet of good quality and wide choice & again very friendly staff. I will look forward to many more visits.

Excellent room and friendly staff

My stay at the Holiday Inn Birmingham M6 J7 was very good. The staff were very friendly and were able to help with all of the queries that I had. The restaurant had good food that was at a good price. Couldn't recommend this hotel more.

In need of refurbishment

Rooms are old and tired and the gym is the worst gym I have ever used. The equipment must be 20 years old, poor selection of free weights.

The only saving grace for this hotel is the friendly staff.

Great service and very clean

The staff are very attentive, explain everything at reception and booked me a table for dinner, all before i had even got to the room. The room was well presented, clean and comfortable. The bathroom especially was clean and the towels and accessories were well laid out. Decent selection of TV channels and the food was very good. The bar has a decent selection of drinks and has the tv for sports. The hotel is set in a large area with plenty of trees and green grass. Plenty of car parking available.

. . . eggs is eggs!

... what is it with hotels and fried eggs at breakfast? My companion and I arrived for breakfast we were confronted by a tray of eggs that had been under the hot lamp until they had the consistency of ice hockey pucks; fortunately I commented on this to a passing waitress by the name of Roxana, offered to have some fried freshly for me.
. . . when we arrived the dining room looked like a war zone . . . the tables were either full of uncleared dishes and breakfast debris or they were unlaid . . . and the other waitress seemed totally bemused by the request for a pot of brewd tea for two people . . . not everyone likes tea made with a teabag in a cup. . . all this is set against the almost doubling of the price of breakfast
. . . on the bright side, Roxana, the waitress previously mentioned was on duty when we arrived mid-afternoon and couldn't have been more helpful . . . also the receptionist (Neyna) who checked us out would be a credit to any hotel

Amazing customer service!

Honestly, from the minute I walked in to the minute I was checking out, the staff here were some of the best I have come across at a hotel- ever. I've stayed at some really nice big name and big price hotels but, honestly speaking, the customer service here was just exceptional. They made you feel welcomed and relaxed and stress free. I had an 18 month old and a 7 month old with me and the staff helped me out as much as they could and we had no problems staying- in fact the kids were really happy there! The room was also good- no issues with anything and everything that we would need was already set set up and laid out ready for us to use. I would definitely go back again!

. . . further disappointment

. . . what I also forgot to mention which was probably worst of all, when one of the staff was clearing down one of the tables she poured the left over milk from the milk jug into the jug on the table she had just prepared . . .
. . . who knows what might have been in that jug? the table had been occupied by a family with young kids.

I'm sure that it cannot be hotel policy. Please reassure me that its not!
