Room in great condition with excellent facilities, bed very comfortable, and the breakfast quality and range of choices was outstanding. I would certainly stay here again. November 19, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Port in a storm, Central Brum Totally central to the city yet in a quiet street; not ostentatious, but provides everything you want. Lovely, relaxing, spacious executive room with fascinating views (into Hippodrome rehearsal studio!) I felt relaxed, comfortable, with somewhere to put my head down and chill. Staff are friendly and know what they're doing. Highly professional set up. No real local flavour, but if you're after good service and anonymity then this is the place for you. The wondrous 'Electric Cinema' is 20 seconds walk away (I timed it). New Street station 3 minutes walk. I'd recommend this to Birmingham commuters who need to stay overnight. November 16, 2014

Another great evening spent at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre - Speedy check-in, friendly staff, room spotless although the air con/ heating wasn't working but they had a temporary heater in the room which was sufficient. Light on the desk wasn't working so worked at the bed side table - free wifi was well received. Breakfast facility was faultless and nice to seat yourself and serve yourself not having to wait to order. Amazing choice and great quality. Staff on departure - very efficient and professional as lots of day delegates were arriving as I departed - no confusion - seamless check-out. Well located to mix business with leisure - perhaps next time I may get chance to do that! November 16, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Impressive service We found the hotel on Late Rooms website and decided that it would suit our purposes for a long weekend visit to our son. Upon arrival we were pleasantly surprised by the attentiveness of the reception staff and had no difficulty in settling into the room, which exceeded expectations, finding the size ideal for comfort. If anything, we thought the dinner menu could have been more extensive, with a greater variety of vegetarian options. November 16, 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy, drafty room, sloppy service I had the worst nights sleep in a hotel room ever in this hotel. The room was chilly and a column heater provided as a substitute for a broken Central Heating facility. The noise from outside came right into the room until 3am when all the noisy students and taxis honking their horns cleared off. The fact that earplugs are provided to cancel out the known noise problems from a lack of sound insulation and/or triple glazing speaks volumes. I was able to move rooms but no refund or rate reduction was provided. Apparently a gift was left in my room on the table but no note to say the chocolate bars were a gift so I assumed they were charged for. 3 of the other people travelling and staying at this hotel also complained of the noise and the inflexibility of the management to make amends for the poor condition of the hotel considering the rate charged was significant.
