a frequent stay-over for us !
Travel from Geneva, Switzerland to St Malo.
Nice lay-over before taking the Ferry across to Jersey to see our daughter/son-in , gd son & another 1 on the way "in the oven"
Some restauration & renovation would be appreciated

This hotel is to be recommended both for its comfort and for its location. The staff are friendly and helpful. the only negative is the price of Breakfast, €16.50 is excessive and €9 for a simple continental breakfast is as bad. I know that these prices are not untypical in French hotels but that does not make them right. It is cheaper to visit the nearby Brasserie.
However that did not detract from the recommendation to stay here.

An easrlier review criticising the reception of a Rewards club member created a question mark in my mind whether to stay at this hotel. It was not a problem. My satnav directed me to the door. Sign posting to the parking area was good although the available parking space was small considering the size of the hotel. The outside appearance left something to be desired as it looked dilapidated Perhaps a coat of paint would not come amiss. The reception desk was not what I expected . Having stayed at IHG hotels worldwide the small reception desk took me aback. It is not what I expected. It was different to say the least. Staff were excellent.Room was fine. I had dinner in house. I was not impressed with the choice. The staff again were excellent and the Chef provided the Gazpacho soup I requested even though it was not on the restaurant menu(room service only). Breakfast was okay but!. Will I use this hotel again. The answer is simply Yes.Room was good,staff were great All that is required is a boost to the appearance and a closer look at the restaurnt menus.

THE ONLY NEGATIVE I CAN MAKE ABOUT THIS HOTEL AND COULD BE THE SAME OF MANY OTHER HOTEL CHAINS, IS THE LACK OF LIGHTING IN THE BEDROOM. AS AN OLDER CLIENT LIGHT IS VERY IMPORTANT AND CENTRAL LIGHTING OR UPLIGHTING IS MOST IMPORTANT FOR READING, APPLYING MAKEUP ETC.
