Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Water leak problem Unfortunately the air conditioning system in the ceiling seemed to be leaking (our surmise). We discovered this leak the next morning when my wife noticed that clothes in her suitcase were wet. On closer examination we identified the water leak originating from the ceiling. We reported the problem to the front desk before departing but it was an unhappy circumstance. October 1, 2013

I had tried to reach the appropriate office when I wanted to book my room at the Boxborough Holiday Inn, but was unsuccessful. I spoke to the registration office, but she was unable to reach to appropriate office to get me the special room rate. When I arrived at the hotel on Friday evening, I again tried to get the special rate, but the clerk informed me that the office was closed until Monday. I am a Priority Club member and have been staying at Holiday Inns for over 25 years, and am very disappointed about this treatment. October 1, 2013

Overall they did a really nice job and we were very happy...I would recommend it, but the bridal suite had air conditioning issues and was too contrast, my room was like an iceberg when we arrived. We adjusted the temperature, but the cleaning staff obviously does not pay attention to how people leave the rooms. The bridal suites should be a priority...lots of people in and out and wedding gowns are big and need a cool room. There were many staff members that went above and beyond...and we had a "wonderful" time. I would recommend booking a wedding at this facility...just tell them to check the rooms for comfort. We again spent our anniversary there as we have been for the past few years, and it was excellent. We would again like to say a personal thank you to your wonderful restaurant staff, Kerianne, Dawn, Lauren, and of course Andrew. They were all fantastic and very helpful. Please share this with them as they do an excellent job running your bar and restaurant and should be commended for outstanding work! We got home and already made our next reservations for November. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Do not disturb On the morning we were checking out (before 11, check out time) the housekeeper banged on our door at 8:30 am and again just before 10 am. We had not put the "Do Not Disturb" sign on our door as we were up and getting ready to leave. I don't think housekeeping should be looking to clean a room before checkout time. It seems intrusive. We ran into the manager and told him about it and he was appropriately apologetic. August 29, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by hotel was not accommodating at all !!!!!! I booked this room back in Jan. 2013 and asked to have a cot if available. I was told no problem....Weeks before our check in date I called and asked for a refrig -- again no problem-- I called 2 days before check in and asked for a microwave--no problem.. Well when we arrived -- Guess what------ no cot, no refrig, no microwave... they could not help us..... poor service and the people at the desk Mark-and Julie should never be the ones guest meet when they first walk in ... very , very, lousy personalities for the first people you meet... maybe they missed their class on HOW TO TREAT YOUR VISITORS !!!!!!! This really was not the hotels fault but my son left a package on the table by the pool where my family and I were sitting all weekend and low and behold when we came back it was gone. My friend found the bag and tags outside by her car. I guess it was not the hotels fault there are awful people in this world. August 28, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Wasn't A Pleasant Experience I called to make my reservation and specially ordered a king bed because I was traveling with my 2 year old daughter and needed the bigger bed so she wouldn't fall off. After lugging all my stuff to my room it had two fulls I had to call down and sit in the hall way till the switched my room and brought me the new keys took 20 min. after getting into my new room I needed to order room service but the phone in the room would not work I had to call the hotel with my cell phone and they got maintence to my room after another 20 min he couldn't fix it and so I had to use my cell phone to call the hotel and be forwarded to the restaurant to order dinner. I then paid 6.95 for a pizza for my daughter and it was nothing more then elios frozen pizza which cost 2.99 for a box of thirty, a little over priced id say. I have always had great experience at holiday inns but this one was not a good one : ( August 28, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by horrible start to wedding weekend I made reservations at this hotel for the proximity of the site of my son's wedding. My husband is a platinum elite member of the hotel, and is entitled to early check in, but not at this hotel. The very unfriendly man at the front desk informed me that check in was at 3:00pm. My husband had already talked to someone earlier in the week, to confirm early check in, but the gentleman didn't seem to care. We had also asked for a 2 room suite, but wasn't available because the person staying in the room wanted an extended checkout! When I asked why they were granted to extended checkout, I was informed it is against the law to say no. How about changing them to another room so the room would be ready for the other confirmed guest. The manager finally let us have a deck room, which did turn out for the best. The one good thing that happened at this hotel. I think the hotel itself had a stuffy smell to the rooms and courtyard area and the room I finally got was awful. The lighting was horrible, and the bathroom had no fan. Overall, my experience there was not very relaxing. I would never stay there again. Most of the staff there seemed as if they did not like their jobs. My husband is giving up his loyalty to Holiday Inn, and switching to another hotel that will treat him better. August 27, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Generally ok but, watch out. Overall not bad. Prepaid for rooms ahead of time(2 nights). Upon check-in had hotel complete final charge for a third night. However, the hotel then went and put pending charge for that one night which was additional to the actual charge. Then put another pending hold for all three nights and then some. In total the hotel not only charged my card the three nights then put additional pending hold for three more nights plus. This created a problem with my card that I could not pay for breakfast the morning I was checking out for the hotel had used up all available credit. Then to add insult to injury, was told there was no one there that Sunday to clear up the mess and I just had to wait for Monday. All available emergency credit was gone. After Sunday the account manager offered no compensation for the staff screw up that put me in a financial bind for the excessive pending charges. TG no only problem came up that would have needed additional funds. August 21, 2013

It is not too far from Concord, which was the real destination of our travels, but where it is hard to find inexpensive accomodations. August 21, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy check-in and quiet room Stayed one night at this Holiday Inn. There were teens from 1 or more athletic teams staying as well. I expected noise into the night, but my room was remarkably quiet. Bed and bath were clean. The only thing that I wondered about was that I was in a room on the second floor that did not have elevator service. I had to make a couple of trips to get all my bags in the room. August 10, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Much needed get-a-way for relaxing and pool enjoyment The hotel staff "outstanding." From the time we checked in till the time we checked out. Every front desk person was, helpful and made us feel so welcome. The pool was most enjoyable. Just a few steps from our beautiful room. Loved the chairs and table just outside our room. So nice to sit there evenings by the pool and sip some wine and look at the beautiful lights and listen to the water spouts. Our bed, the best! Every Holiday Inn we have stayed in has had the most comfortable beds to sleep on. We just love Holiday Inn's. The menu in the dining room was not one of our favorites for dinner. But the breakfast OUTSTANDING! The only thing missing for us was a Hot Tub by the pool. We so enjoy Hot Tubs and wish that you had one. Will we come back. Yes, we hope to be there in February of 2014 to attend a concert. See you then. August 10, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Good price - Fair rating I have stayed at this Holiday Inn a couple of times over the past 4-5 years and usually are very happy. Not this time, although received a pretty good group rate, when we got to the room it had a musty smell and the toilet paper had not been changed or replaced so we were completely out by the next morning. The ice maker near our room was out of service the entire time we were there and the back door that was suppose to be locked at all times, was not anyone could walk right in. Also that first morning when I went to make coffee, the coffee pot was dirty, so I had to clean it. We left the room by 10am and didn't return until after 3pm, the room had been picked up and toilet paper and towels replaced, however when I went to make coffee the next morning, we didn't have any to make and the coffee pot was dirty again. It looked like they did a quick clean but there was still coffee stains in the pot, so I cleaned it again but since they didn't replace the coffee I couldn't make any. Very disappointing and makes you wonder what else didn't they clean completely. We went to the restaurant the first night, the service was very slow and the food was average at best. Since the hotel is fairly close to the soccer tournament my daughter participants in every year we will probably go back next year, maybe? August 9, 2013

This appears to be an older hotel that was updated, but it is well maintained from what I could tell. I will return to this hotel when I am in the area on business again. July 21, 2013

Only con was the layout is entirely rectangular with no rear/side parking/elevator access. This made the walk to the room a bit laborious. No free breakfast and the Grille downstairs was so so. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by In need of some TLC The highlights of this hotel were the lobby and atrium. As a club reward member, we expected a room with a little extra. Instead, we were given a room across from the laundry room. The door to the laundry room remained open with dryers running... The room itself was tired looking. We had to call to ask for a refrigerator, which I would expect to be standard for club members. We called the desk several times before they finally answered. At 8:30AM the cleaning staff knocked on the door and when we didn't answer quick enough, they started to enter the room. The whole experience was quite disappointing. We will not stay there again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Secluded and cozy Great room. The rooms faced inside towards the courtyard. Very warm and appealing. The front desk gave me some out-to-date info on train schedules. The T doesn't go to the Littleton station during the summertime weekends. So long story short I had to pay $45.00 cab fare (one way) to the South Action train station. I wanted to get to Boston early and the shuttle wasn't available until 8:30 am. The restaurant food was excellent and reasonably priced. Great clam chowder. The WIFI worked great in the lobby and restaurant and so-so in the room. Overall a good stay. July 1, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and clean room, multiple bad dining experiences, some staff absolutely indifferent I came for a two night stay for a conference. I've stayed here in the past with no unpleasant experience. The first night I arrived late after a long and tiring drive. I went to the restaurant and had a truly unpleasant and bizarre experience. I was dining alone and was seated at a dirty table. The waitress came over to take my order and when I asked her if she would please wash the table first she seemed to be genuinely surprised at all of the crumbs and stains left on the table. She went away and returned 5 minutes later and wiped down the table. She left a menu and a wine list. I ordered an appetizer and a salad. She left the menu and wine list on the table. 20 minutes later she returned with the appetizer and salad together. The appetizer at that point was barely warm. She never once returned to my table for any reason. She left the menus and dirty dishes on the table for the entire meal and never even came back to see if I needed more beverage. There were two people seated at a table immediately adjacent to mine and she returned 5 times to see if they needed ketchup, beverages, dessert, etc. I had to flag her down just to ask her to bring my check and when she did she still left all the dirty dishes and menus on the table. Now, here's where it goes from unpleasant to bizarre. My check total was $16.47. I brought it to the bartender and handed it to her with a $20.00 bill. She asked me if I needed change and I said yes. After struggling mightily and opening multiple rolls of change, she came back and with both hands cupped together, plunked a pile of bills and coins in my hand. At this point I kept everything in my hand (I was rather annoyed# and returned to my room. When I counted my change #which should have totaled $3.53#, imagine my surprise to discover she had given me the following: a $10, a $5, 4 $1's, 3 quarters, two dimes, two nickels and 5 pennies. Yes,, $20.10 for change from a $20. I went to breakfast the next morning and asked for the dining room manager. She came out and I explained everything that happened the night before. I returned all of the extra change and only kept the $3.53 that I was owed. She offered a casual apology and never even offered to comp a cup of coffee. That night I ordered room service - just two appetizers and a pitcher of ice water with lemon. A tray arrived with the two appetizers, no plate on which to place them, no condiments #salt, pepper, etc.) and no ice water. I called to request the water - it was delivered, but with no glass from which to drink it. Also, the lunch served the first day of the conference was excellent but the second day's fare was really not as good as some things I've been served in cafeterias. When I checked out and shared my experience with the front desk clerk he was sincerely apologetic and offered points as compensation, but as I'm not a member of this chain, I declined. In summary, the room was clean and comfortable but the dining was well below average and the staff were not consistently gracious and courteous and committed to the guests' positive experience. If our conference is held here again, I will stay at a different facility. June 23, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful hotel! My husband and I stayed at this hotel twice in the past week or so, both on our way to Haiti and on our way home. We found it to be outstanding in every way. The staff was incredibly responsive to our needs as travelers, and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. We were very tired upon our return to the States and my husband was ill. The staff did everything they could to help us, including sending me upstairs with a pot of fresh coffee and a tray with his breakfast so he didn't have to come down to eat. We relaxed and enjoyed both nights completely. We would go out of our way to stay there again! The Lanes June 20, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable hotel We stay here every year for an event, and have always enjoyed the hotel. Rooms are comfortable, the pool is very nice, and the restaurant is solid, nothing fancy but good soups, salads, etc. with nice service. They do need to update the rooms a bit, they are showing their age. The bathtubs/surrounds need to be updated. The AC in some of the rooms doesn't function well, others are fine, staff were accomodating in moving us. Only issue was a faulty fire alarm that went off three times while we were there, including twice in the middle of the night/early morning. They really should have offered a comp day to everyone who had to stand out in the rain for 45 mintues while they figured out what was wrong. June 19, 2013

This year I did find the rooms dirty, old objects under our bed, bathroom floor not swept for 3 days, even though requested. Not enough cleaning staff June 7, 2013
