Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jonaeroblue23 Location and comfort very good
This hotel is the best in Yorkshire.
Yes it isnt boutique, Yes it isnt super luxury however.,
I think this hotel is good because:
Location is great - no hassle finding it and if you are up and off on business or leisure you can be back on the motorway in seconds..
Food - good value for money and arrives at the room promptly
Comfort - yes clean and tidy room
Internet - bit expensive - considering you can pop to the local Costa Coffee and get free access for the price of a £ 1.99 coffee. Perhaps the lobby or lounge should be free - especially if you are a IHG member.
Come back - Yes I will come back next time I am on business in Yorkshire which will be most months this year and will recommend Brighouse Holiday Inn to clients and colleagues.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MK99 Clean & quiet, with excellent service
First time we had used this hotel. It was only for an overnight stay as we were meeting friends, but will definately be using again.
Check in staff were excellent, polite, friendly and gave us all the information about dinner and breakfast while completing our check in.
Room was light and airy and the bed was really comfortable.
A highly recommended hotel.

The hotel is superbly situated not far from the motorway. One of the best Holiday Inn's I have stayed in. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The pool facilities are excellent. I would definitely stay here again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by likesunshine Aviod this hotel at all costs
We had a terrible stay at this hotel, and would never wish to return here. My wife is due to give birth in a month's time and we have a 2 year old, so I specifically requested a quiet room. Instead, despite the hotel being only half full, we were put in a corridor with a large group of young men from the RAF/rugby league on a boozy night out. As a result, we were kept awake until 5 in the morning, and although we complained to reception on numerous occassions, they refused to help us.
The room itself was a dirty, tired excuse which was in need of a good clean (there was rubbish everywhere, including an empty vodka bottle, and it had not been vac'd) and a substantial make over.
The car park was covered in litter and none of the staff seemed to care at all when I mentioned this to them.
When I complained again the following morning, I did not even get an apology. The breakfast was equally bad, despite the £11 per person charge.
The only redeeming feature was the pool, but apart from this, I cannot think of any reason to stay here again, unless I was absolutely desperate.
This hotel does not deserve to be part of the Holiday Inn brand.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Barrieb Good 1 night stay overall
Room was good and clean, room service and food was good and breakfast was good.
Didn't realise that the car park is a few flights of steps away from the hotel entrance which carrying luggage up could become a pain. However the hotel is on a hill so there is nothing that can be done about that.
Reception and entrance was nice and I used the gym facilities too, which were functional. However it would be useful to have spare cups available near the sink.
The shower and towels were great too.

Having stayed at this hotel 4/5 times over the last couple of years, due to visiting family in the North, I can honestly say that I would not want to stay anywhere else. Friendly and welcoming staff, plus a warm and comfortable room make for a good deal, especially after an afternoon walking on the moors. All in all, an excellent hotel for which the staff and the owners should be proud of

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by SteveG9 Modern Well Kept Hotel in Lovely Location
We went on an organised coach trip. I had already read the reviews on Trip Advisor and was impressed that the Manager Louise had replied fully to any criticisms so I sought her out and told her I was impressed by the professionalism.
Overall the hotel was great, There is a good Gym and Pool and the rooms were large, comfortable and well kept. The lounge and bar were immaculate with lovely views and a relaxing atmosphere.
The staff were all without exception very friendly and helpful accommodating our request to eat a bit later than the time allocated to the trip.
Despite two night we were there having large Xmas parties they did not interfere with us at all. Bedrooms are well away from the function rooms.
The only criticism (and I understand that with large coach parties you have a limited budget to work with) is that the evening "carvery" was very average. Very standard fare that was not freshly presented and which franky we ended up eating for the sake of it. The wine is also quite expensive.
Nevertheless for the price paid a very enjoyable stay.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Monkey1 Consistently friendly service
A very welcoming hotel, located closely to the M62, but within its own quiet grounds. My family have stayed here on numerous occasions and every time have been made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble.
The rooms are always clean and comfortable, the service is of a high standard.
Since moving away from the area, the hotel has felt like a second home,
I would recommend this hotel to all friends and family.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Chops Ideal location for a half term break
Enjoyable stay in an excellent facility. My six year old son & I stayed here as a base for days out at such places as Eureka and Xscape after doing similar in Windsor/Maidenhead in the summer. The main reason being that the pool is an excellent diversion for an energetic child.
I found the food to be of good quality and the free child meal was a welcome bonus.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly families undertaking the same type of break as us.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ricoh4 Quiet and peaceful stay
Good travel directions to this quiet hotel just off the M62. Has the bonus of leisure facilities which includes a small gym and pleasant pool, sauna & steam room.
Rooms are large and although some distance from reception are on the first floor. Ours had access to a balcony which gave onto a reasonable view.
Was not informed if their was a lift; so may assume their is one or disabled guests who can not manage stairs are accommodated on the ground floor.
Hotel seems to be a popular conference venue and has a membership to the the leisure facilities. Changing rooms not too big if you hit the rush.
Staff were slow to clear breakfast things and provide refills for coffee; the hot buffet was let down by the "chef" not greeting the guest and asking if wanting different types of eggs etc.
Had computers in the lobby but no-one explained their use or guest access. Again the approach from the car park wouldn't suit every guest as a few steps or approach by road - no clear safe walkway for pedestrians.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HI100NT Not impressed
Good Internet
High speeds available.
Smelly Bathroom Good Bed
Comfortable bedroom and bed, however this was let down by a smelly bathroom shower screen and grout missing between tiles some black mould.
Disapointed by Food
£14+ for tiny steak pie with mush filling. Where is the beef?
Strawberrys and cream, six berrys? cut into small pieces.
Service charge automatically added to bill (there is a warning printed somewhere) pet hate.
Having complained on Thursday am it took until Friday late afternoon to get a call back. Offered another chance to try the food on next visit if I go back.
As I am a business customer and not paying the bill this is not recompence for the dirty bathroom and poor food. Minimum expected at this price point is cleanliness and a reasonable meal.
