I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions including when it was previously owned. over the years it has got tattier and tattier which is clearly seen just front the front entrance and reception area. The rooms are now undergoing a refurbishment which is well needed. They are nice with far better bathrooms and great showers. I will say one thing. It doesn't matter how old a building is, as long as it is clean. when you look around the restaurant like near the sea view windows, simple things like cleaning the peeling paint and ensuring all bulbs are working make a simple difference with little cost. my newly refurbished room was lovely but I don't think the carpet had been cleaned since being put down so covered in hairs and the bed vase wasn't nice to view ( I only looked as carpet so dirty). so please holiday inn, now you are being refurbished look after the building and show some basic care and attention to detail and the customers will keep flocking in. You have a great location for beach shops and entertainment. also I booked the day before, yet wasn't even listed on the arrivals list even though I am a platinum member.

We had a one night stay in Brighton at the Holiday Inn. From the minute I made the booking to when we arrived, the staff were absolutely charming. We were two adults and three children and when we found our room to be a little too cramped, they happily moved us to a slightly bigger room which was perfect. Similarly, the breakfast staff were charming and breakfast was plentiful, tasty and filling - we will definitely book to stay again.

Very poor service in the restaurant. I was shocked at how bad it was. We had to wait for the order to be taken, we received no menus, the drinks order wasn't taken and the food service was slow.
The restaurant had two staff the whole time and only 4 tables of people!
I understand slow service when the place is busy, but this was ridiculous.
We were staying for the Brighton Marathon, so had no opportunity to leave the restaurant to find other food!
The others we were sitting next to had the same view of the service.
Front dest staff were good, the rest of the hotel was good and the location was excellent.
