Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cayo Good local knowledge
Planned to go out for a run in the evening, unfortunately wifi wasn't working, so couldn't log on to look up maps. Reception had good local knowledge for running routes out of the city which I followed and was pleased with. Pleasantly surprised with quality, quantity and price of meals in the hotel bar.

Excellent value for money, room was very clean, spacious and modern. The bathroom was very clean and modern, with a very large walk in shower. The staff were pleasant and polite. Would recommend without hesitation

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JackB48 Excellent hotel and great location
We have stayed here a few times now when we visit our son who is at university in Bristol. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are of a good size. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The Breakfast is excellent - although a little pricey, it is well worth the money. The freshly made omelettes are excellent. Great location - across the street from the shops, bars and restaurants.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by bumble dreadful evening meal and non working shower for entire stay
Staff lacked knowledge of many subjects. Breakfast was great. Evening meal was appalling. Families treated as 2nd class to non family guests. Shower didnt work the entire stay. Great location. Doubled charged on bank statement with no refund in sight. Room comfortable.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sinbadnpg Good Hotel, good location, poor service!
This hotel is based in agood location but the customer service was pretty poor. You certainly do not get recogonised as a priority platinum member as i was made to wait at the reception for 15 mins before i was attended to.
As a platinum member, i requested a free upgrade and was advised that this was not possible as all the executive rooms were fully booked. This clearly was not the case as once in the room i checked online and the rooms were still showing as available. Requested a newspapaer in the morning and it never arrived, on check out the car park ticket was not scanned, which should give you a discounted rate, and so on exit of the car park i was prompted to pay the full price..... and the list just goes on.
Sadly, this type of service with the IHG group is becoming all to regular for a chain that promotes itself so highly.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Duffnutt Lovely rooms great location
The rooms inthis hotel are the best I've stayed in, spacious comfortable and well equipped. The hotel is very well located with parking attached at a reasonable rate for a city centre. recognition for Priority Club members is almost non existant here. There is a very odd mini bar arrangement when I first stayed here the mini bar was stocked but inexplicably locked, last couple of stays it's empty and you have to ask for it to be stocked? now I may be wrong but I thought the whole idea of mini bars was convenience and impulse buying. The main downside to this hotel is the quality of the food in the restaurant, the menu is expensive and the food over ambitious, fussy and worst of all poorly cooked. If you are going to try such an ambitious menu then you need chefs with the skills to carry it off, this doesn’t appear to be the case here. This is a failing I’ve noticed at other Holiday Inns, what I want as a business traveller is simple reasonably priced menus that are above all well cooked.

Disappointed with the bedding which just about fitted bed, and I mean only just. Also the bed is very hard, never stayed in a hotel with a bed so firm.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Susie53 Disabled travelling
I often travel with my father in his wheelchair. The Holiday Inn in Bristol went out of the way to make our trip for his 90th birthday exceptional. From the moment I booked the staff went out of their way to provide excellent service. The disabled room was spacious an well appointed, with an adjoining room provided as a courtesy. The meal we had on the first night in the restaurant was superb and equal of any restaurant I have eaten in around the world. Thank you to everyone for all your efforts - a 90th birthday happily celebrated.

Unfortunately, the shower temperature did not work so the water was continuously piping hot. Spoilt an otherwise pleasant overnight stay.

Lovely hotel. Staff very pleasant - nothing too much trouble for them. I was in Bristol to deliver some training to a group of teachers so also made use of their "Academy" for the course - facilities were excellent.
Highly recommended.

We were pleased with the location and the price. The executive room was first class. Welcoming concierge, very posh! Piped music and TV a bit intrusive in bar / restaurant area.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ady12 Best Holiday Inn we have stayed at
We had a lovely break in the Bristol City Centre Holiday Inn - we are regular Holiday Inn visitors but we think that the room was especially large and clean with the usual Holiday Inn facilities. Bathroom was nice with "rain" shower. No soap/shampoo bottles, but fixed dispensers were fine. Will stay again.

I stay away on 3 or 4 occasions every week, I tend to stay away fromHI's as they are often the same price as higher quality hotels yet charge for things such as wi fi!
The HI Bristol included wi if, bar prices were good and the hotel was clean and tidy. Staff were excellent.

Wow what a total contrast. The night prior to staying here I stayed at a Holiday Inn in the Midlands. Oh dear what a disappointment. The heating didn't work and the part had been on order for over a month, and it was snowing outside!!!! so I was offered a small electric radiator as not ather available rooms and although offered a reduction on my bill it wasn't good.
Arrive at the Bristol Holiday Inn and I am met by Friendly staff with a smile and given a room that was a palace compared to the one in the Midlands. This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff and is very central to the city.
A great place to stay.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Vanjameson Best service I've had in a while
First of all, I would like to thank the staff for their attentiveness and friendliness.
The hotel is only two or three years old, in great shape, and very modern in style. That being said, I did have a few minor hardware issues (tap fittings in bathroom were a bit loose), but they were easily overlooked considering the rest of my stay.
The food in the restaurant was great, and competitive in price for a hotel restaurant.
This hotel is definitely good value for money.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by jt1788 Room was not up to normal standards this time unfortunately
I always make a point of staying at the Holiday Inn city centre whenever I go to Bristol and this occasion was no different however, the room was very poor with several defects in the plastering and had an unclean feel about it. Was it not due to the fact we were not going to be using the room for very long I would have certainly have asked to move.
The room standards are normally impeccable so this was quite a shock and hopefully will be a one off

The room was very nice, lovely size and the staff are helpful.
The only negative I have is that the room had not been hovered and there was black hair all over the light carpet that was not my own

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rchie77 Very relaxing break
Bit of a strange layout of the hotel. Annoying having to put your key in the lift each time you used it and it always stopped on the 2nd floor (reception) even if you pushed 0! The parking wasnt easy either, but thats NCP for you! Still the price we paid for the room was brilliant and made for a comfy stay, wish it had been longer.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Janet30 Very helpful staff, nice spacious room
Once we had moved rooms due to faults with one we were given it all went well. The only annoying thing was that the lift seems to automatically stop on the 2nd floor even when no one was waiting (Reception is on 2nd floor). Very central location so no need to move car from car park.

I only stay at this hotel it is right in the city center next to shopping mall parking is on site (£10) for 24hrs which i think is very fair.
Staff are more than helpful rooms are very clean if you book the room with a balcony you are able see a amazing view of the city from the 7th floor
i would stay at this hotel again and again....cannot fault it

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Glenn65 Great Stay
Spent two reward nights here and had a great stay in this very modern hotel. The staff were great, the room was excellent with a terrific 'rain' shower, and like the rest of the hotel felt modern, clean and well maintained. The only downside was the very small vertical slit window awarding limited visibility, this a result of an older building being converted into a hotel. The restaurant served great food throughout the day, and the buffet breakfast normally good at all Holiday Inns, was exceptional here both days.
OK the downsides to this hotel, and I am being real picky here, walking into the lift's from the car parks gives an inaccurate first impression of the hotel - get rid of the cheap looking posters advertising parking etc, and ensure that there is no evidence of where old posters had been. This hotel has an upmarket feel - the elevators don't.
Second point, due to the staffing levels of some of these newer hotels, other services seem to be lacking whenever a major function was being held. I went for bar food and was told there'd be an hour wait! To the hotel's credit the bartender was honest and secondly when I did place the order, the food arrived promptly.
Whenever staying in Bristol, this will undoubtedly be my hotel of choice.
