Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 2 night stay I know this hotel well after numerous visits, it has lost some of its service and standards, cutlery in main restaurant dirty, glasses not correctly polished and service not as attentive with a reduced menu. I still like this hotel but customers appear to be taken for granted. Asian restaurant had better service with cheerful staff. Room was comfortable but when raining the metal window sill beats like a drum. May 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Reception could have been better We used Priority rewards points for our two night stay (no breakfast) due to visiting our son who lives in Bristol. Superior room excellent, no complaints whatsoever (much more than a standard room, which we used 2 weeks earlier). On reception, at 1400 hours, we were met with a rather 'frosty' female (Alexanda?) who I asked what we should do with the parking barrier ticket (never having one before). I was told 'you have folded it, it will not now possibly work', she was in other conversation with her 'not conversation friendly' (as the only one on the desk at the time). As regular users of the Holiday Inn at Filton she appeared to be offended that we had turned up and was very off hand - we have never had such a reception in the past and have stayed there possibly 10 or more times, even from those whose language was not English as a first language. As said we cannot fault the room nor the leisure facilities. May 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet, clean and comfortable! Given the hotel's location next to busy roads, I was delighted to find that I had a really quiet room overlooking the gardens and fountain. The room was very clean and comfortable and I was able to relax after the very busy event I was attending each day. I would recommend this hotel. The only slight negative is that internet access isn't free - I had accidentally left my purse on the roof of my car at the petrol station (!) so didn't have any credit cards to enable room charges. Other than that - I will stay again for next year's event. April 30, 2013

The menu, though a little limited was adequate for a weekend break. The location, within easy reach of the M4/M5/M32 is ideal for visitors wishing to go into Bristol and all points N-S -E -West. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by The Holiday Inn Brand Our second Holiday Inn experience and we had a god time in Bristol but this chain have the hardest beds I have ever encountered. Such that we both got up with back ache in the morning and as we were checking out the guest in front said the same thing to the receptionist. Premier Inns have much bigger and more comfortable beds. Resturant service good but why was the table on the first night sitting in a pool of food debris from Breakfast and not neccsarily from that mornings breakfast either!! On arrival we went to the coffee lounge for a quick drink and the service charge was charged to the bill- without reference to us. I did not appreciate this and were not caught again, like this. Reception staff had little idea about where the bus stops were when my wife sought direction and she ended up walking a long way to get a bus. Local knowledge like this is useful, especially when the hotel is some distance from the centre of Bristol or anywhere of significance April 19, 2013

As a family we enjoy the grounds in good weather and the swimming pool at all times. The hotel is spacious aesthically pleasing to the eye internally. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Family weekend We have stayed in this hotel many many times before and overall we always have a good time. on this visit the service was very good the breakfast was very good and staff helpfull as always, on the only negative point as per are last time we stayed the room air/con heating is of a poor standard on entering the room the heat hit you no air in room, you can only open window 6 inches, the hotel sent up a small fan, i mean a small fan and it only worked on 1 speed at least they tried , the a/c & heating fan did not really work, kicked in after 10 min but hardly blew any air out it is something holiday inn must resolve as it was not comfortable in the room. Jess at the reception remembered our names and made us feel very welcome. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. It was great with the children. The pool was good fun too. It was a weekend and busy with students attending competitions in the area. The cost of Internet access was extremely high and we didn't take it April 6, 2013

Room was good - only moan - no shower curtain - hence a very wet bathroom floor. Good value for money. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Shocking Restaurant service Stayed at the hotel on 2 consecutive nights. The first night the restaurant service was so slow I decided to eat out the second night. Leaving the hotel room on the second night at the same time as the first night I drove to the local shopping mall, bought a new shirt, drove to TGI Fridays, ate two courses and drove back to the hotel arriving in my room 20 minutes after I had done the previous night when I had eaten at the hotel. Shockingly slow service in the hotel restaurant which puts a real downer on the stay. Otherwise the hotel staff are very friendly and approachable, but the evening restaurant staff service is just too slow. To wait 20 minutes to get a menu and a further 10 to order, 45 minutes between starter and main is just not acceptable. I think they need to hire some more cooks to get dinner out before breakfast! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 One Night Stopover The hotel is nothing special from the outside BUT once you enter the whole experience is enjoyable. Upgraded to Executive Room due to Platinum status - room good size including complementary chocolate, water and a nice view of the small lake/water fountain. Had dinner in Sampans Oriental Restaurant - the food was great with good service from a very friendly waitress. Using our Taste Card for 50% off made for a good value meal! Breakfast offered the usual range of Holiday Inn fayre and, as was included in our room rate, rounded off a very pleasant stay. We would certainly stay here again when travelling to Cornwall. The TV remote didn't work effectively and wouldn't change channel, the room was on the chilly side despite turning the heating up. There was very little on the menu for vegetarians and spending 4 days there on business there was not enough choice. What food there was was not hot, and slightly over cooked. The negatives are the duvets are quite thin and its been cold lately! Also it's really expensive for Internet whereas most hotels it is included in the cost of the room. Breakfast was of a really good standard. There was a hugely significant improvement in customer care since the last time I visited this hotel, several months ago. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by relaxing weekend I often choose to stay here as it is only 10 minutes drive to Bristol city centre. The hotel is easy to find and get to and very comfortable. I only realised there was a leisure centre after i got there as this was highlighted in the booking. So unfortunately i did not take my kit. This feature should be better displayed. On arrival the booking in was very quick and smoothe. The staff were all very helpful. There was a complementary hot drink and cookies, something you dont get at more expensive hotels! There is also free secure parking. I rate this hotel very highly. February 22, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good stay We were given our rooms next door to each other as requested but we were not told that there was a function going on in the hotel which would cause noise disruption. We had chosen this hotel as it was near to a venue where our daughters were competing in a trampoline competition early the next day. We were alarmed to hear loud music banging from the venue at about 9.30pm and by 11pm our kids were still awake. I decided to go to reception to ask when the music would stop and was told 1 am.... i explained my concerns and the receptionist couldn't have been more helpful. We were straight away moved to other bigger rooms free from the noise and our girls were able to sleep. The hotel staff were very apologetic and i even received a call when i returned home once again apologizing for our inconvenience. I am more than happy with the way it was dealt with and if ever i am in the area again wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel . January 19, 2013
