The location was ideal for our weekend getaway with friends.
Since we were going to the ballgame we were able to walk and take local transit to the ball park.
The staff was very good and right on when they suggested a local restaurant for a late lunch.
Loved having a paper delivered to our room each morning.

The staff were very helpful and made our stay very relaxing. I especially enjoyed the pool and the gym while my partner watch the Tour de France on TV.

Cari ann and brian were both awesome during my stay. The hotel is within walking distance to many restaurants and bars. The airport shuttle and driver were also great!

I was assigned to a bed room just around the corner. The room is very humid and filled with mouldy smell. On top of that there were stains in the shower. I chose Holiday Inn, because I had some great experience with them when I was travelling in Europe. However, this particular Holiday Inn is disappointing. Lastly, the breakfast was all right, but the service in the restaurant has room for improvement.

We stayed here because we were attending the Taste of Buffalo and mistakenly thought it was closer to the event than it was, although it was really only a 5 minute walk North.The HI Buffalo-Downtown is a very nice hotel. It is a bit older but aside from the small, outdated bathroom, you would never know it, as the rooms seem to be completely renovated. We stayed in a 6th-floor room next to an overly-rambunctious bunch of young women, so we heard them through the wall until they went to bed. Recognition of my Platinum IHG status was fine and included a coupon for a free coffee/wine in the bar but no breakfast. My only concern (aside from the lack of free breakfast) was that there was broken green glass under the bed and beer bottle caps under the dresser. We made the front desk clerk aware of this upon checkout, he apologized and called housekeeping right away to ensure that they were aware of it.

Being right downtown is a huge advantage. It gives you the flexability of being in the city but at the same time the ease of getting to the suburbs.
Plus the fact fact that its an all around great hotel experience!

My husband and I were very pleased with the location and also with breakfast. The Bed and the service were excellent as well! I was very happy of the location because the National historic site just across the street. Also a pharmacy was just next to the hotel. In addition it is very close drive to the border of Canada. We took the afternoon drive to Niagara Falls before sunset and that was very nice. Overall our experience in the hotel were great!

Suburban laidback ambience in a central city setting. Desk personnel Linda and Philippe were very helpful and patient with two road weary travelers and helped to orient us to a very enjoyable urban experience. The Buffalo C&VB should give them an award and Holiday Inn should give them a bonus!!!

The people are the reason I continue to go to the HI/Downtown. They can't be any friendlier or more helpful. After I messed up my reservation, they bent over backwards to accommodate me. I'm not considered a number there but truly their guest. It's always refreshing going there!!!!

I truly enjoyed my stay but there were some small fixes that could be made that would truly bring the Holiday Inn - Buffalo Downtown from a good experience to a great experience.
1. Staff - everyone was really friendly and easy to work with. The one problem was that at times people did not seem to know what was going on. The restaurant staff was new and untrained. They kept bumping in to each other and did not know the menu very well. The front desk person gave incorrect information over the phone regarding payment for the room and I received different (correct) info from the manager upon check in. But all were awesome people!!!!!
2. The heater/AC in the room did not work properly. The system to turn the AC off and heat on was complicated and I never truly got it, causing me to be under the covers whenever I was in the room. Also, the toilet did not work properly.
3. Once the hotel got crowded, parking was limited. Please find additional parking options, or communicate with guests about on-street parking (is it available, hours, etc).
Other than that I had a great time. Once again, I wish all customer service persons were as helpful and nice as the staff at the Holiday Inn Buffalo

Had a great stay in the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel looked like it was well cared for.
Cari-Ann was a TREMENDOUS help at the front desk, setting me up with transportation and any other need that I had. She and the rest of the staff did a great job!

Everything about the hotel itself was fine--cleanliness, location, quality, etc. --exactly what you would expect of any HI. But I was shocked when I went to the front desk a bit before 9am to catch the next shuttle for the airport and was told they would "put me on the list for 12 noon" --a THREE hour delay! Fortunately, I was going to the airport to retrieve lost luggage, not to catch a flight. There was not a word mentioned about a 3 hour notice for the shuttle when I had checked in the night before. When they have such a demand, they needed to be running both shuttles, not have one parked in the lot. They could have anticipated the demand because they were shuttling groups to an offsite meeting or conference.
The front desk also gave me incorrect info on where to catch the public bus--"wait right over there on that corner"--pointing out of the window. However, the bus they had directed me to catch did not come to that corner but rather one two blocks away.

For a short stay, this was most agreeable. After a bit of confusion on checking in, ( we had multiple rooms), it got sorted out. Bathrooms a bit small. No extra vanity area. Front desk staff helpful. We had to ask about Priority Club membership next day after check-in. Dining room staff not flexible at all for seating a large group. But breakfast delicious and good value. Excercise area, good. Pool area small and lacking towels. Downtown location very convenient.

The hotel was only about a mile from the downtown convention center, within walking distance for us. We also found some good restaurants within walking distance. The free parking was definitely a plus. Although everthing was clean, the hotel was aging a bit, as our bathtub faucet and toilet paper holder needed repair. Also, the bedding was worn, causing the bottom sheet and matress cover to come loose every night.
