Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Five Star Hotel! I travel frequently and rarely do I answer these surveys however I have to admit that I have stayed in many hotels and I have evolved to insisting that my reservations are at Holiday Inns. The Holiday Inn on Macleod trail all staff are extremely professional and every time you pass a employee they all say hello. Even the building maintenance staff. When I checked into my room the front desk called to insure that my room met my expectations. Thanks Holiday Inn! :) . November 24, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel at a great price I have stayed here in the past and everything about this hotel is still excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone else, especially if you are planing on going to the Saddle Dome for an event. Location and price are great. C Train is also a plus. November 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wish I could get a 20 inch monitor to get some work done The room is great, bed , clean, relaxing etc. even a nice desk to work on to do emails and such, but miss the monitor at work to get some serious spreadsheet work done. Perhaps having one available for a nominal fee? I really do not want to work in the business office where someone could see the confidential data.... November 11, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel for business travel The hotel is centrally located in Calgary, just out of the downtown area. It's close to the Chinook Mall, rapid transit, and easily accessible from the Blackfoot Trail if you are driving down from the airport. Good access to the south east part of Calgary. The restaurant does a great simple english muffin, egg and fruit and always has coffee to go. No fuss check-in and good high speed wireless internet. There is a small gym and a very good pool and whirlpool with lots of windows to let the 'big sky' in. There is a great park just across McLeod Trail from the hotel and you can run along the Elbow River towards downtown on a great bike path that's not too challenging, or through the part on the other side of the river. Nice to have the park nearby. I stay here everytime I go to Calgary on business - can't think of a better location. October 14, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Amazing Staff The General Manager and front desk staff are incredible. I was traveling on business with a group of 14 other colleagues, and the staff made sure that all of us had a great stay. Thank you. October 10, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff When I was checking out a male staff helped me with my luggage. Took me on the staff elevator and then carried my luggage up one flight to the lobby. Very appreciated. October 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Right balance between price location and quality Compared to the one down town this one is cheaper, better quality, more amenities even with the 10$ cab ride to downtown. October 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice property I arrived late at night, left early in the morning. Was greeted warmly after a long drive and slept well in a quiet room in a full hotel. October 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location Great location for getting in and around Calgary. The rooms, although a little on the small size are comfortable. Wish there where more plug available. I had four devices to plug in each night with in one plug available and accessible. September 30, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by First-class service The level of service and recognition that I receive from this property is absolutely first rate. The staff especially on the front desk really make me feel welcome. I look forward to my next stay at this hotel. September 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Definitely stay here! This property is by far my favorite to stay at. I'm not going to lie, I stay at Holiday Inn properties mainly for the points. This particular location is by far my favorite, I am greeted by name every single time. Very professional with a person flair! See you soon Holiday Inn on McCleod Trail! September 21, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Close to shopping and easy access to freeway Stayed 2 nights over September long weekend and found it comfortable and quiet. September 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service We had great service at this hotel. Any request we asked was greeted with a smile and enthusiasm. Nothing was too difficult for them--even finding me a microwave on short notice. Yes the doors were hard to open but everything else was great. The restaurant had great service, tasty food, and reasonable prices. The location was absolutely perfect. Glad we stayed there. September 4, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bland The exterior of the hotel needs a fresh coat of paint or a power wash. The beds are very hard and the plumbing is showing it's age; Guest rooms are very cramped with HEAVY entry doors that swing shut too quickly. Hotel restaurant is above average, especially for breakfast. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. August 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Location I always stay here as it is in a great spot, block away from the train. You can use the train north to the Stampede, business or fine dining downtown, or south to the mall. Yes the place is a bit dated and could really use some fresh paint and new toilet facilities, (no fans in the bathrooms?), and the food is not fine dining, but really, I'm not living there, just spending the nights. I do appreciate the 'net access at the bar where Sandy keeps my glass topped up while I keep up with email and work. The breakfast staff (young & old) get me in & out in a jiffy while the talkers linger over coffee. The check in staff is always pleasant and although they make do with dated computer systems, they keep a smile going. August 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible service My new truck was hit in the parking lot. Room smelled and wasn't pleased that the price on Sunday and monday was a lot higher then on Saturday. Will never stay again at a holiday inn. August 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service We attended a wedding in Calgary and the wedding party booked a block of rooms at this hotel. The service was excellent and the rooms very comfortable. The hotel is located on the very busy MacLeod Trail so we were pleasantly surprised to find that the hotel shielded us from the activity. There were two downsides to this stay. First off, on your website it states, "Start your day off right with our complimentary deluxe breakfast bar. Help yourself to fresh fruit, hot sausage, crispy bacon and our famous warm cinnamon rolls that are sure to leave you smiling." There was no complimentary breakfast. Why advertise it? The second issue, a minor one, but it could have been touchy, concerned room allocation. There were a number of us who booked "wedding rooms" and we ALL should have been in the same area - as it turned out, non-wedding party people had rooms interspersed and they had to put up with some of our exuberance; this could have been better handled. That being said, we had a lovely time and I will definitely consider staying here if I visit Calgary again. August 22, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great location very nice staff ready to help you and great location August 18, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Dated Rooms The hotel was worn and tired, staff tried to compensate for this. kudos to staff but flogging a dead horse still doesn't change the fact that the horse is dead. This property needs to be updated. Also evening chef/cook needs to learn that extra salt in food does not translate into more flavor. Wish the front end staff the best of luck, but will not stay here again. July 31, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable We booked this hotel based on previous visits at Holiday Inn/ Holiday Inn Express hotels. This particular hotel is fairly old and is in need of some repairs in the lobby. The front desk had a computer keyboard that was held together by black hockey tape! Since we had been driving for over 12 hours, we just wanted to get to our room. We got checked in and went straight to the room to discover the key card didn't work. This seemed to be a problem for many guests that we encountered in this very full hotel! Thankfully we had received two cards, and after several swipes, the second one worked. We walked in to find that the window was up high, and the lower half of it was frosted glass and you couldn't see out. If you looked up, you could see the sky. Since the window didn't open more than 6", and we had someone in our party that would not be comfortable not seeing out, we knew we had to change rooms. We went to the manager, and said he had no other rooms and said he would not give us a refund to switch rooms. We were not happy, and told him that the person that booked us into the room should have told us about the window while we were booking. He finally decided that he had one empty room that he could move us to. Our new room was across from the old room and had a normal window. Thankfully the room was clean and we were able to get comfortable. I normally wouldn't post about a frosted window, but it felt like we were in a basement and anyone that doesn't like dark spaces would not like this room! Just make sure when you book here that you ask for a room that does not have a small frosted window! July 27, 2013
