Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Stay during PGA Ryder Cup Overall an excellent hotel. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds, very clean with daily room service. Very friendly and helpful staff and especially welcoming during the PGA Ryder Cup. Albertos restaurant was adequate - expensive enough for what you got and drink prices were above acceptable levels. I would be very pleased to stay in this Carol Stream Holiday Inn again. October 6, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel and Efficient Staff Stayed here before and during the Ryder Cup week, a total of 9 nights . Have to say everything was excellent, from the comfort of the room. Which was fairly basic but was clean and functional with a great bed and good linen. The other bonus was how accomodating and friendly the staff were. They really couldn't have been better and deserve due praise. Would definitely recommend staying here, as have such wonderful experiences. Loved Chicago and will hopefully be back one day !! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet location The room was comfortable. The smell of cigarette smoke was strong and the room smelled like pets had stayed in this room. The outside lighting was too dim. Overall this was a good stay and would stay again. September 19, 2012

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Few problems I reserved a block of rooms for a wedding. In addition, reserved two king 2 room suites to get ready for the wedding in. Was told at the time of reservation that they would be adjoining. At check in was confirmed that they were adjoining only to find when arriving at the room that that was not the case. Was then told that style room never is adjoining. Was told no 11pm van pick up available for guests from reception so informed the guests they would not have a van available if leaving the event at 11pm and not staying for the after hours. Only to have a van show up at 11pm, and was told by driver he would be there at 11, 12 and 1am ????? Nice but then guests had already chosen to drive instead due to previous information. Reserved garden room for brunch on Sunday only to be asked to move while eating because they had "double booked room" Room was nice, clean and spacious but based on the above experience would hesitate to recommend this facility as a hotel to block rooms for special events. Also was told by many who blocked rooms that rooms where found less expensive on the web site then what was offerred with the room block. ????? July 14, 2012

We were attending a party and must say the buffet was great. The service was excellent. And the room was exactly as i requested. July 10, 2012

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by last of many stays with several prior good experiences here, we were suprised by how poor how last visit wound up. We were told that we might hear the church music tent on Sunday morning when we checked in Friday night. At that point it is too late for guests to look into other options. In any case I didn't expect it to be a problem, assuming that we would be up and out. As it turns outs, it was a problem. My husband and I both needed some quiet time before our daughter's graduation (from Wheaton) and wanted to rest before the ceremony. IMPOSSIBLE. Even with ear plugs and white noise. I had to leave the room as it was unbearable. Then, when we got back from celebrating a wonderful day, we were treated rudely by a maintenance person when we questioned why the elevators weren't working (we didn't know that power was completely out due to storms). Normally that would be no issue, but my husband had knee surgery on both knees and stairs were an issue-our room was on the 4th floor. With the power still out the next morning, there was no offer of help with our luggage or any other amenities to compensate for all of the inconveniences of mother nature (which I realize are not the hotel's fault). They did offer complimentary breakfast the next day-but it wasn't advertised/announced/communicated. And, the most disturbing fact. When one of the managers asked about our experience as we were waiting for our taxi, I started to respond, but she left in mid conversation when one of the hotel people started talking to her. I guess customers come last. July 10, 2012
