(I give this hotel a 4.5/5). This hotel is really nice and great with a good location (only 5 minutes from the airport and 10 from LA CIUDAD VIEJA). Only some small points:
1. The rooms are excellent but I guess they should have a central light or at least some spotlights or downlight in the roof.
2. The pool is really nice, clean and well located (just besides the beach)
3. This is the only negative point of this hotel. Despite the breakfast buffet and some special buffets (like mexican or international) are quite good, the food, specially from the MENU, is not. For example, the pastas are very poor. If you ask one carbonara pasta the sauce is very simple and it just bring 4 or 5 bites of bacon and the Price is very high. It doesn´t work at all. I ensure that you can make a better pasta at home.
I also ordered one chicken breast filled with prawns. and the taste wasn`t that bad but it seemed an appetizer and it has only one small prawn inside (I really expected something different). Once again, The Price was expensive for what they offer.
I know that I visited this hotel in the highest season, but I guess that is not a reason to not offer Omelettes at breakfast as It usually does

We stayed in a superior king-bed room overlooking the lagoon. The room was excellent, very spacious and with great amenities. The fact that it overlooked the lagoon instead of the ocean was a plus, as there is constant loud music in the beach, which could become quite annoying.
Service was fair. Upon check-in I was offered complementary water and other food products, due to being a platinum member, but these never arrived to our room. I ordered a crib for a our room, and we got it upon checking in.
I arranged for a taxi to pick us up early in the morning through the hotel, but the taxi never arrived (there was no problem calling a second taxi though).
Service at the restaurant was quite slow (we sat outside next to the reflective pool). It took 20 minutes for someone to greet us and bring menues. Another 20 minutes to bring beverages and almost 30 minutes for the food to arrive.
Finally, the pool was always full so we had to go to the beach, which is very busy with loud electronic music playing all the time nearby.

Lo mejor del hotel ademas de su ubicacion es sin duda el personal que labora alli, excelente actitud , siempre atentos y dispuestos a colaborar.
Habitacion con buena vista, tranquila y comoda.
Comida buena termino normal , creo que deberian incluir un menu mas sencillo y propio de la region como un pescado frito, un arroz con coco sin tanta arandela , eso seria excelente. y para los niños adicionarle al menu croquetas de pescado y de pollo q es lo mas normal que ellos coman en todo sitio ademas de las hamburguesas y pastas,
Por mejorar , la piscina y servicio de playa pues considero que no tienen la capacidad ( tamaño) y no dan abasto con la demanda del hotel en estas temporadas, en los dias que estuve nunca tuve oportunidad de disfutar del servicio de playa pues siempre estaba full de igual forma conseguir silla disponible en la piscina es una tarea dura, ademas que es muy pequeña para tanta gente.
Aunque en general mi estadia fue placentera y disfrutamos de sus servicios , en mi caso que viajo con mi hija no creo que sea el hotel mas apropiado pues no tienen claramente definido nada para los niños. El salon de juegos es solo una sala de cine y para pintar y no tienen una piscina especial para niños, pues la unica que hay se comparte con los adultos , lo cual la hace aun mas pequeña.
Otro comentario adicional cuando me registre me dijeron que el hotel era 100 x ciento libre de fumadores , sin embargo era constante ver personas ante la vista de los empleados fumar en el restaurante del corredos al aire libre , creo que lo llaman el de los espejos.
Y finalizo con lo que comenze , una felicitacion a cada uno de sus empleados que son los que logran que nuestra estadia sea placentera a pesar de las deficiencias.

When you have the right companion it doesn't matter much where you stay for a getaway. Although you wouldn't go wrong with the Cartagena Morros Holiday Inn. This is relatively a new hotel in the best urbanized beach area (La Boquilla, located a few minutes north of the airport) of beautiful Cartagena de Indias. And believe me, it is not far from Excellent!
It is a brand new building with a modern look, perfectly neat and gorgeous ocean front rooms. The optional complementary buffet breakfast is worth getting since the food provided is very fresh and tasty. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner as well. Among the best dishes we tried for dinner was the sea food soup. We also enjoyed 'cervezas micheladas' by the swimming pool. All the staff treat you with great respect and always with a smile.
Now the downside of my experience (which reduces to only two issues). First, for some reason the ice machines in each floor were out of service, so we had to order ice with room service, which took more than 20 minutes to arrive. And second, the waitresses helping during the buffet breakfast seemed a little overwhelmed when peak hour rushed, so the service got really delayed. These two issues made our stay not reach Excellent, but not far from it.
All in all, this hotel is worth every penny. I would definitely go back and hopefully find working ice makers in each floor and better trained waitresses during peak hours. Also, we had a problem with a personal item (more specifically a book) that we found wet when we returned to the room. We reported it and the staff administrator kindly took responsibility for it and reimbursed it to us. That was a kind gesture which gives you a sense that they really care for their guests. I am pretty sure the next time will be far from Excellent!
