The manager and her staff were more like family members than the usual hotel staff you sometimes run into. The location was the best suited for the reason for my stay; and how lucky was I to stay here. After the first day/night I was greeted by name (as was my family) and just felt like someone special. This may sound corny but I was sad to say goodbye to them.
I don't normally do survey's but I felt compelled to do so in this instance.

Based on my 30 years experience as a traveling government auditor and practically living in hotels/motels, I can truthfully say the mattress in our room 522 in the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites, Raleigh-Cary. was the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE of any bed I have ever slept on. I probably stayed in Holiday Inns more than any other hotel/motel during my travels for many reasons.

I strongly recommend this hotel.
A few improves for the hotel staff:
I stood at the customer service desk for five minutes waiting to check in. I didn't want to be rude and knock or say "hello" loudly. I even went to the public restroom on the first floor and came back. I had to find housekeeping staff just to get someone to check me in. I understand there's work to do in the office but thinking in terms of building physical security this might not be the best practice leaving the front desk unattended.
I've been to many hotels and this by far was the most comfortable stay I've had. However - maintenance should look into the dimensions of the doors versus the doorway. Room 622 has a significant gap between the door and the door frame which let light in. Sleep was difficult with the bright hallway light coming in through all 4 sides of the door. I understand the convenience of being able to slide invoices and newspapers under the door but the gap may be a simple fix.
Despite the above, I look forward to staying with this hotel again.

We paid the "breakfast rate" to include the breakfast buffet. I would recommend you make other arrangements for breakfast, as there are other far better choices nearby.
Food selection was poor, badly prepared, and not worth the extra charge.
