Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PLEASURABLE, DELIGHTFUL, GRATIFYING After a long ride, it was comforting to be greeted with an enthusiastic and warm welcome. The smiles and kindness of the staff did me good. I am always exhausted when I arrive at a hotel and the staff here seemed to know just what I needed. I was promptly recognized for my Platinum Elite Status and went through a carefree check-in. I was given the same room as my previous stay and it was clean and inviting with everything in order. The staff made sure there was nothing for me to be concerned or worried about. Everyone was just as amazing on my second stay as my first. I come to the area for health issues. I was only supposed to stay two nights, but my two nights turned into five. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my extended stay. I know of nothing I could have asked for that I did not receive. I am grateful for everything the staff did to make my stays such pleasant experiences for the reasons I come. I needed a place to stay where there was genuine concern and that I would feel welcome. I needed a place where I did not have to worry or be concerned about anything beyond why I was there. I look forward to returning in March. The Holiday Inn Staff has succeeded in meeting my needs and making me feel welcome in their home, which they have been exceedingly kind to share with me. They have once again surpassed my expectations. They can do the same for you. February 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RELAX and ENJOY When I arrived, the staff was as warm and inviting as the hotel lobby with its fireplace, cozy chairs and live plants. They promptly recognized my Platinum Elite Status. During my two-week stay, I was always greeted with smiles, asked about my stay and if there was anything I needed. The professionalism, courtesy and attention by the staff never waivered. I could relax knowing whatever came up the staff would take care of. Everyone exceeded my expectations. Among the amazing staff were: General Manager Diab, Adonis, Clay, Khalid, Phil and Steve. I have face blindness so it is hard to learn names and people. Everyone was great even if I do not know who they are. I was especially touched by Chrifa's smiles and "Good to see you" greetings. Dana, Pam and all the others treated me like a welcome guest in their home. The pride they took in their home was evident everywhere I looked. My room was well organized and clean. The staff helped me with a different room chair for my special sleeping arrangements. There was cable TV with many channels - six of them HBO, a microwave, mini fridge, and desk along with the standard items like bed, nightstands... My A/C and heat worked well. My bathroom was large, well laid out and clean. The towels were clean, soft and fluffy. I was able to enjoy the indoor pool and whirlpool, both of which have lifts. There are two computers in the lobby along with a printer for the guests to use any time. The hotel has a café and room service. For breakfast you could special order or get the buffet. For dinner there were numerous choices from appetizers to entrees. Chef Carlos and Chef Trina went above and beyond in their special preparations for my food. Those on special diets and/or picky eaters should do well here. Close by the hotel there are grocery stores, pharmacies, a car dealership, restaurants, a whole array of stores, and even a movie theatre of which many are in easy walking distance. The hotel was conveniently located to the Triangle Aquatic Center and the hotel lobby made a good meeting place for the large group we were traveling with. We were able to get late check out and the bed was comfortable, but the only complaint from all the guests I spoke with was the temperature of the rooms. It didn't matter what you set your thermostat to, the rooms remained hot and had to put on air conditioning when it was in the 30's outside. Other than that, the hotel was great for our purposes and the rates were reasonable. Breakfast included with the room would be something to make me consider returning again. February 17, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not up to usual standard I have stayed at this hotel several times and in general it is satisfactory. This time I had two issues which affected my stay. Firstly there was a group of youths that checked in on my last evening. They were noisy with loud talking in the corridors, running up and down and slamming doors until late. I expect a hotel to maintain some level of order! I am not a hermit and can cope with some noise but this was unacceptable. My comments to the Front Desk were met with a response of "Sorry about that"..... Second issue was breakfast. On one morning the breakfast waiter (who to me is the gentlemen generally on duty) was great. But then he always is. His first priority is always to make sure that the guest has coffee. I like that...someone with the correct priorities! However, the lady who took over from him the following day was more concerned with making sure that I got the check rather than any kind of service. All in all a futile exercise as I had a voucher anyway.... Not earth-shattering issues, granted. Just blots on the landscape which were aggravating. There is also now enough competition in the immediate vicinity that this hotel should now feel the need to "up their game". February 17, 2015
