We arrived at the hotel and we received the warmest possible welcome. The people on duty, Raffaela and a gentleman who's name we sadly didn't get, ensured our arrival and checking in was a lovely experience. They both speak great English and took the time to give us tourist advice about the area. I would like to thank them both for their help and advice throughout the stay.
The rooms are of a spacious design I have not seen before at Holiday Inn and give a great feel and are very clean and well equipped.
Breakfast is first class, eggs cooked to order and continental, lovely food, great choices and top class service in a lovely restaurant, what more could you want? And at 9 Euros it was excellent value for money compared with England.
So the whole four night break was just what we needed and we couldn't have chosen better. Cava de Tirreni has a beautiful main shopping street with great prices, and we always found someone who spoke English when we had a coffee or something to eat. Pedro's pizza can't be beaten, we enjoyed it so much and Puro for ice cream and coffee is also excellent. Thank to Raffaela and the Holiday Inn team for our hotel and to Cava de Tirreni for a taste of the real Italy.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Nice Hotel near Salerno, Amalfi and Pompeii
The staff is wonderful here, in particular, Rafaella at the front desk was extremely helpful with both information and answers to our questions. The breakfast in the hotel is quite good -- be sure to order eggs they are not out on the buffet but included. The dinner menu is limited and OK when you don't want to search for someplace to eat. The hotel is well maintained and centrally located. It is best to have a car just for the sake of time because most of the places you will want to visit -- Salerno, Amalfi, Pompeii, etc are not that easy to get to by public transport. If you have a GPS be sure to make the hotel a favorite so you can find your way back.
If you are going to visit Pompeii be sure to save time for the National Museum in Naples (when the best art work from the ruins is displayed) and also visit Herculaneum it is excellent and in many ways better than Pompeii.
My thanks to the staff and management of the hotel for a wonderful stay.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AmandaRuby24 Overall experience was Excellent
All staff on reception & within the restaurant were very friendly and professional and couldn't do enough for you. The location of the hotel is great, just off the Autostrada and within a mile of a busy town with plenty of good café & restaurants. I would highly recommend staying in this hotel for visiting all attractions near Naples. We visited the Amalfi coast, Sorrento, Pompeii & Vesuvius and all of which were within an hour by car of this hotel, an excellent base hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jordan64 Great Location for exploring area
Modern Contemporary Hotel perfectly located for exploring Salerno, Amalfi Coast and Pompei.
Location; In the picturesque (almost tourist free) town of Cava dei Terrini up in the hills outside Salerno.. for drivers: just 50m from toll station on motorway, for pedestrians:15 minute ride on the shuttle train (every 30mins) from Salerno central station then a short walk. (Ignore location on hotel directions web-page... hotel is at the other end of Corso G Mazzini), I.3km from central station.
Even if you are not exploring the area, the town of Cava dei Terrini is quaint with a long pedestrian street Corso Umberto 1 where you can get great value shopping or enjoy great coffee and food..
Hotel: modern contemporary. Well designed reception with lots of seating, flat screen tv and bar. Lots of Marble and everything is shiny clean! (they must have the best cleaning staff in italy!)
Check in; Very friendly staff who are very knowledgeable on local area, transport, sights etc. Most guest appear to be business people. We were warmly welcomed and given all the info we needed for our 3 night stay incl welcome voucher for comp drink.
Room: well designed and styled, spacious, well lit and again spotless, flat screen tv, safe, wardrobe and 2 extremely comfortable beds. Air con worked perfectly and though near a highway, there was NO evidence of this thanks to the soundproof windows. (3 english TV stations) Bathroom was clean with bath and shower, soft fluffy towels and a range of good quality amenities.
Meals: Breakfast was plentiful with efficient friendly staff who produced a latte/cappucino/espresso seconds after sitting down. large buffet with great range of breads, cakes, fruit, cereals, cold meats and cheese, plus the added bonus of freshly made omelettes and eggs to order at no extra charge. Dinner had a limited but good menu with lots of wine options! There are 2 large supermarkets within 100 meters of hotel and a great pizza restaurant across from entrance..(we tried everything!! GREAT!)
Amenities: We used the mini gym on level -1 which had 4 pieces of techno-gym equipment, bottled water and towels!
Overall a really great stay though the weather was horrific!, non stop rain and storms.. but the hotel was warm and cosy. Getting to Salerno was just 15 mins by train and from there exploring the Amalfi coast was easy. the rail line going through Cave De T also serves Pompeii to the north (just 25 mins) with trains every 30 minutes.. Travelling to and from Naples/Sorrento is best done through Salerno as there is a 1.5km walk between stations at Pompeii!

We got to Cava on a fluke because we were using points for this leg of our stay. What a delightful surprise! We will return again if possible.
The friendly staff, whose English was excellent, helped us in every way possible to appreciate the town and its customs. The food was outstanding in the restaurant, with eggs cooked to order for breakfast. The dinner was excellent with fresh, local ingredients. And the bartender is a delight.
Happy to recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone, families included.
