Regretfully I (and my fellow Rescar visitors) were not impressed with our recent stay.
1) I booked my room over a month in advance and requested a room in the back away from the highway. This request was ignored. A person that reserved a room after I did, was given a room in the back.
2) The chair in my room was broken. Took two days to get a new one.
3) The service in the restraunt was terribly slow in the mornings. We walked in on one day and over half of the tables had not been cleared of the previous guests dishes. And stayed that way during our meal. We had to search and find our own silverware each morning. A table of 6 had to share one coffee urn. Ran out quickly and we could not find the server to get refills.
4) The server took a breakfast order. The guest had to say it again when the server got it wrong. The server still brought out the wrong order. (cresants rather than an omlet). Toast was the wrong bread. The server never wrote anything down and continued to get the requests wrong.
Overall - not happy at all.

I stay at IHG hotels regularly. I have found it is the small things that make the stay good or bad. Not providing fresh hot coffee in the lobby in the morning is inexcusable. I was rudely informed, "you can go buy it in the restaurant". I have to sit down and wait for the server to bring me the coffee and sign a receipt to get a cup of joe?! I thought they were kidding. This unsavory interaction with the front desk staff coupled with the fact that this hotel is in a undesirable location at a premium price was enough to make me cross this hotel off my list forever. It sounds minimal but, like I said its the small things.

I can always depend on Holiday Inn to provide a comfortable room and good services. I looked up Holiday Inn at Channelview in Google to be close to where I would be working in Baytown, I was surprised to read couple of poor reviews. However I relied on my previous experience and chose to stay in this hotel. I am glad that I did. The facilities in the building and my room were clean and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable. The food and service in the restaurant were excellent. I had a comfortable stay and will come back to this hotel at my next visit.

Was attracted to the description of being a State of the Art Hotel, anything but that. Cable was fuzzy and Internet Speed would not reach above .018mbps! State of the Art? Staff was unfriendly and uninterested in addressing my needs. What good is being a Platinum Member if you are reaping the rewards.
Sad! An overpriced hotel in a poor part of town.

very nice hotel, love staying here, Ribeye steak very good
only draw back I can find is the internet, I'm a gamer heart and the internet is not very good, I'm better off hooking up to my phone in the window, hopefully they will fix this, and it's is both wire and wireless
but it does stand out like a jewel where it is
very limited access in and out so no thru traffic, security patrol, really don't worry about thief or anything here

The rooms are very nice, everything is new and seems to be working well. The bar area is not well staffed, probably enough people, but not experienced enough. It is the same kind of service I get at the Holiday Inn in Kemah with a bar by the same name! If they could just bring the bar/rest. up to par things would be very good.
