Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by EasyGoing23 Poor service and quality of rooms
Poor service and quality of rooms. I just typed a long review and I am being asked to re-type my review??? Front desk was not friendly. Rooms were dirty, bathrooms were dirty, rusty and had ants. The refrigerator smelled and made loud noises. The noise level outside was loud because of construction. The hotel offered ear plugs but had none. They were booked up so we didn't have an option to change rooms.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kit1603 What a gem hotel in the middle of Charleston
My wife and I checked in at this hotel after a friend told us it was almost a 5-star hotel and unlike most Holiday Inns. The checkin experience was excellent especially as we had not booked in advance. We were given a great room on the 5th floor opposite the building works - the sound-proofing meant we were not disturbed during the 2 day visit. Our car was valet parked by one of the 3 men on duty and was immediately available anytime.
We were a little surprised by the breakfast charge but when we found out we could order our choice of breakfast cooked specially we thought the charge not bad. We also ate in the restaurant the arrival night, tired from a days drive up I95 from Florida, and had a good meal; we also met the chef who told us of a great "Southern Fried" restaurant a few blocks from the hotel. We visited "Leon's" the next night with friends and had a great time.
The bartender makes excellent Manhattans but is not exactly sparkling company and the trainee is exactly that.
The staff we met could not have been more helpful and extended to us the typical Southern politeness at all times.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Miko27 Beautifully appointed hotel with excellent service!
The hotel was beautifully appointed! As we arrived by car the curb side staff took care of our luggage and guided us to the reception desk. We were warmly greeted and escorted to our room. Our car was safely taken to the secure garage. Upon entering our room we were pleasantly please with the cleanliness, and the large bathroom. We loved the walk in shower, it was a big plus to the facility!
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast in the hotel restaurant. It was nice to have a bar to relax in after a long day. The beer and wine choices were amazing.
The location was perfect, we walked everywhere!

This is an excellent hotel. The staff for the most part are wonderfully attentive and helpful. Surprisingly the bartender (who I think of as a position that is usually more friendly) was a bit slow on the uptake which seemed somewhat off-putting compared to all other staff.
It was comfortable and easily fit the bill for an overnight stay.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Grant1507 Amazing Hotel - Breakfast is not complimentary
Fantastic hotel. The staff went out of their way, first to get our business then to ensure we had all of our needs met. The rooms were great, comfy beds, immaculately clean, I slept great. The staff even offered ear plugs to drowned out the city noise if you so desired.
The bartender in the meeting room was friendly and knowledgeable and helped us find attractions and cool places to eat.
Be mindful that their parking garage is still under construction so it can take a minute for the valet to bring your car around.
Also there is construction across the street, so if you want a beautiful view try the mount pleasant hotel.
Lastly my group was a little unhappy that breakfast wasn't free like in most other branches but It was good breakfast none the less.
Great Hotel, a block away from the beating heart of Charleston.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SBMcC CHOOSE ANOTHER CHARLESTON HOTEL...NOT THIS ONE
EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in this hotel. It has been a long time between stays at a Holiday Inn....and now I know why!!! VERY limited towels, Internet services down in the room location for 80% of the visit, filthy stairwells (yes some folks DO take the steps),VERY overpriced breakfast with very CHEAP food selections, sorry only one towel per adult, air conditioning set to go "off" during the night in order for the motel to save money...not for the comfort of the guest,Sunday morning checkout...only ONE young man on staff to both retrieve your auto from the parking garage AND load cars.SO VERY DISAPPOINTED in THIS facility.
