Stayed here for a college basketball tournament. Loved the location. Two blocks away from the action. (bars, restaurant, shopping) 20 min walk from Market place. Trolley is across the street and runs every 20 min. Try to stay on top floors to avoid the city noise. Would stay here again for sure.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The Actuary Very nice, clean, gracious staff. Well done.
Only minor issues are I was surprised to find out that even with nearby addresses, hotel was not really within walking distance of heart of downtown, and ESPN could not be accessed on room TV. Other than those this hotel, staff, and experience was excellent.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by gckrejcha Great hotel right in the heart of Historic Charleston
The staff was great from check in to check out. The rooms were large, clean, with new furniture, and very comfortable beds. Anytime I'm in Charleston this will be the hotel I stay at.

The mattresses need to be more comfortable.
But the customer service was great.
The room temperature did not get cool enough.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hoodornament Great loation. Friendly staff.
Stayed for two nights at the Charleston Historic Holiday Inn. Great location and very friendly staff. Would definitely stay there again.
I had noted other reviews complaining about the parking. I guess we've been to Charleston enough to expect parking challenges. We actually ended up only spending about $2.00 for parking based upon arrival time and being out part of the day on Saturday. If you plan to stay downtown, let the hotel take care of your car for you and you won't have any worries.Otherwise, parking can be a challenge if you're not aware of where to park.
