Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Extremely Comfortable and Relaxing The staff was exceptionally nice and professional. The night staff and I watched TV in the lobby when I got up in the early hours of the night to get the laundry done. The beds were amazingly comfortable and exceptionally clean like they were brand new - one primary reason for staying at Holiday Inn Express exclusively as well as the breakfast. The pool was clean and comfortable temp. We had been traveling for days and the beds were so comfortable, my husband wrote down the name and type so we could get them for home. The breakfast is always good at these hotels; however, we're both diabetics and it is heavy on the carbohydrates which is bad for diabetics (bacon, eggs w/ cheese, heavy on breads and gravies). They do offer oatmeal, yogurts, fruit and toast so alternative option is there but would be nice to have turkey bacon option and eggs with no cheese. We stayed at another hotel chain in Florida because the HI Express was full and the difference was drastically apparent - we could not sleep at all the entire time and were in pain the next day. We love HI Express and go out of our way to only stay with them. Great stay! July 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Staff and Place I love this place and will continue to stay each time I am in Charleston. Breakfast was ok, and this is because I'm picky eater. July 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very comfortable Bed A very nice Hotel however, The maid service left a lot to be desired. The maid made the beds, put fresh towels and emptied the garbage. That's it. empty bottles, candy bar rappers etc. sat where they laid for the 5 days I was there. Other than that an excellent value for a stay in a wonderful city. A little far from downtown but that's why the great price. Cheaper than most Holiday Inns. July 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable and Friendly Comfortable Room. Pleasant and very helpful staff.. The location is very good and they catered to our family with a veery friendly and helpful attitudee July 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loved the hotel and Charleston Great clean room, fine pool and Oh so quiet.. The staff especially Sherry were excellent. Only the maintenance guy could lighten up a little. Breakfast OK except again , the pancake machine was not working. Also there was just one hard to operate toaster for all guests to line up in front of. Nicely on the edge of town with easy access to the city. However I definitely plan to go back to Charleston and this is where I will be staying. June 25, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Short Stay The staff and the property were excellent. I had my elderly mother with me who was handicapped and the room on the first floor was great giving us the ability to be near the lobby and breakfast outside the room was helpful. What a wonderful experience and very helpful staff. June 19, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Stay This Holiday Inn was a great location to go to the Plantations and also fairly close to downtown. And it's a much greater value than staying downtown. The room are very nice and clean and the staff is helpful. The only downside is that the breakfast is not stocked right up until the end of the time period it is served. The first day they were out of eggs, silverware, plates and many other items. There is a good variety but most other Holiday Inn's stock the items until the breakfast closes. However, I would stay here again and recommend it to others. And they welcome you as a Priority club member and give you a gift as well! June 15, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay I had left Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Monday May 27th and arrived in Charleston S.C. around 10.am that morning. I went to check in and the lady who checked me in stated that she would be able to get me in a room around 12;30 that day.I told her that I was pretty tired and she checked again and got me into a room right then. I really appricated that and was well rested for that night and the next when I traveled to South West Florida. June 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bed was too soft, compared to other HI's we've stayed at. Our experience with Holiday Inns is excellent overall, but the beds in this particular hotel were too soft for comfort. June 6, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay, great staff! Our stay was better here than at our Resort in Myrtle Beach! We had our 1 1/2 year old daughter with us, and they provided a crib in the room free of charge. They also allowed us to check in when our room was ready, which was 3 hours before scheduled check-in time. The staff was super friendly, even holding the elevator for us, and helping my daughter walk on the elevator while my hands were full with breakfast (She didn't want to walk past the gentleman, she was nervous, and he reached his hand out as to take hers, and she took it, walked right on the elevator!) I would stay here again and again! Room was clean and neat, pool area was clean, breakfast was good! Great value, great stay!! May 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Quiet sleep; convenient location Had great rest here. Convenient to plantations, restaurants and downtown as well. Cleaning staff extremely helpful. I ended up sick and spent one day in bed. They were very kind to my husband with clean towels, coffee, etc so as not to disturb me. Only problem, the breakfast and one staff member. Cold eggs, no meat, no fresh fruit and she said it was "meatless Thursday." Same on Friday. Other days everything kept hot and meat offered with enough fruit to go around. Actually seemed maybe the food was going home with someone. May 20, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay if visiting Charleston! The staff was amazing. Each person we came in contact with was outstanding. The location was a great value versus staying in the downtown area for visiting all the stops in Charleston. May 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by close to downtown without the price tag close to all the great shopping and restaurants of the meeting and market street area...without the high price charge of hotels in that area. May 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean room - great service I arrived in Charleston after a 12+ hours drive. Needed a clean, comfortable place to relax for 2 days before I started my new job. Staff was cheerful and very helpful. Room was clean - bed was comfortable. Breakfast choices were ok (would have liked to see more fresh fruit) - HIGHLY RECOMMEND May 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice stay, great staff I was in town for a week because of a death in the family and have to say the Holiday Inn Express staff were a group of "Can Do" people. Any request was granted and with a smile and the attitude of the whole place was a positive one. Management and staff all seem to work together for the comfort of the guest - a sometimes rare thing in hospitality. The Inn itself was neat, clean and quiet and I will definitely stay there again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great property Pleasantly surprised with the property. Excellent friendly staff . I haven't stayed at this property in a few years and I did not expect the updates. April 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value Nice hotel located next to Ruby Tuesday which when on business travel is convenient. Nice walking/running trail runs behind the hotel about 500 feet back. Get to it from a side road. Only issue was the broken elliptical. Let me know they need to fix it. Pet peave of mine at most hotels. No one ever seems to keep on top of it. April 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The helpful, friendly staff. I was traveling alone for the first time, also my first time to Charleston. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They called cabs for me, recommended restaurants I could walk to for my dinner ( to the point of printing out menus for me) and made it possible for me to take a bus downtown, much less $$ than the cabs. I would not only recommend it to friends, I would definitely book with this hotel again in the future. April 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent stay. The staff was courteous, the hotel and room were clean, and a good choices for breakfast. Most importantly it was quiet, no circus going on in the rooms next door or in the hallway. We would stay there again if we go back to Charleston. April 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by room conditions Our room had so much dust on the wall the bed was on it was disgusting. I have never enjoyed standing in water, as I shower, but this was the case in our room. April 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasurable stay we found overall excellent facilities and good location. April 16, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable; excellent staff Enjoyed our stay. Room was very comfortable and staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. April 9, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well located, clean, comfortable family oriented hotel. Friendly staff and comfortable , ample rooms made this a good family oriented hotel that was well located for access to downtown and local amenities like drug stores, restaurants ( fast food and family style places). Quiet even though the hotel was nearly filled. This certainly fit our needs and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Easy arrival from -I95 via I- 526 coming in and leaving which was a benefit for early am departure.Good Wi FI easy to connect. April 5, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Noise We had a very nice two-room suite. However it was flanked by the ice machine and the elevator. Needless to say it was hard to sleep. The desk staff said they were sorry, but offered nothing more. We have stayed at this property many times, but will think long and hard about booking it again. April 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very friendly staff Everything was great. Friendly staff and very helpful. Would stay again. April 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean place Staff was very helpful providing info of the city. April 2, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great location for leaving on cruise ship we were able to leave our vehicle there during the time we were on the cruise. There is a Ruby Tuesday's next door. March 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good location and staff friendly/helpful Our recent stay at this hotel was very good. The location was good for going into Charleston and Summerville. The staff was very friendly when checking in and with questions the following day regarding local information/directions. We used the fitness center each day. The breakfast was okay for complimentary. The only negative thing would be the beds could be more comfortable other than that it was great. I would recommend. March 28, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service The staff was the key ingredient in our very enjoyable stay. Octavia on the evening shift was most gracious and knowledgeable. Her knowledge of where to go and driving instructions were good, and she had several discount coupons for local attractions. My wife and I stayed 2 nights at this hotel in mid-March 2013. It is some what removed from the downtown area, but it is a quick car ride in into the center city. It's extremely convenient (but a fair distance) if you're going to Patriot Point , Mt Pleasant and/or Isle of Palms. March 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay I really enjoyed staying here and would recommend this hotel. If you are staying in Charleston this is a good location and not too far from the center city right down 17. It is a good location and great value. March 23, 2013
