Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Height of toilet We are very short people, but the height of the toilet in the bathroom was so low, it was difficult to sit comfortably. I honestly don't know how a tall person could maneuver this obstacle. December 23, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Southern Charm We stayed at this HI about 20 years ago and returned because of its location and balconies. You can imagine our surprise when the sliding glass doors were permanently shut allowing no fresh air in the room. If this was mentioned on your website, my husband didn't read it and if he had, I would have objected to staying in a room without fresh air. Upon checking in, the desk clerk (woman, I think) asked my husband why we were there and he said we were celebrating our 47th anniversary visiting Charleston. She handed him a white gift bag and said "Happy Anniversary, here is a gift for your wife." Now, I tell you, when I looked in the bag I felt a true insult only to find two small bottles of water and a bag of Cheese Its. I don't know if she though she was being funny or what, but I found that to be an insult from the HI. The bathroom sink had virtually no water pressure at all...yet the kitchen sink had wonderful pressure and the shower was fine. The room was a roomy suite with kitchen available so we had plenty of room and it was nicely furnished. Maid service was excellent since fresh towels were changed daily and the bed neatly made. It was explained to me that "for security reasons" the sliding doors were permanently closed...I understand that, but we will have to learn to read websites more carefully or ask questions about fresh air. Just something we like when it is cool enough in the South to open windows and sleep with fresh air. We will continue to stay at HI across the is just that some experiences are better than others. It was an overall good experience...just won't return to that particular Holiday Inn....that's all. A big disappointed. December 21, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not sure if we will return The restaurant was closed for dinner for three straight nights. We were not told of this when we booked the reservation. That was the main reason we picked this hotel. We were told we could eat in the lounge. Only thing available in lounge were lounge chairs where you would be balancing your dinner in your lap. Amanda tried to work something out but to no avail. She gave us tickets for breakfast the next morning. We appreciate the gesture but it did not make up for the night before. But she did try. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great employees Without a doubt your hotel is the best in every way compared to the many other Holiday Inns at which we have stayed. Your shuttle and front desk employees were the most helpful and accommodating individuals. To recall one name, Josh, and the other two shuttle drivers were so courteous and helpful in getting to our cruise and returning. If we visit Charleston in the future we will stay at this fantastic hotel. Thank you, The Miller's P.S. I am a member of the IHG Rewards and have been a member since 1999 December 19, 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by View is unbeatable This is our third or fourth stay in this hotel. Once again the view from the room was special and the one from the dining room at breakfast perfectly enjoyable. A tug boat chugged by requiring the draw bridges to open, which did not likely please the morning commuters but adding to the scene as far as we thought. Because of nearby family, we usually check in fairly late in the evening after dinner, stay the night and then make the drive back to the upcountry after breakfast. With the $10.00 for two entree offer, we had breakfast at the hotel rather than in a restaurant. The grits were cooked right! The bacon was crispy and the eggs cooked to order. I'll be back.
