If the room had been cleaned to the level of the rest of the experience this truly would be a gem. While the location of the hotel is near a very industrial area of Charleston and there are only limited food opportunities outside of the hotel it is still a good choice for the traveler.
It is very obvious that energy and resource efficiency is a paramount concern. From the salt water pool to the solar film coated windows in the rooms, to what I believe were tankless water heaters on top the building where the gym was. The delay in getting hot water in the shower would also make me think that all of the rooms had tankless water heaters.
The restaurant and bar were also very nice and the waitresses were very nice and helpful. The talking McCaw parrot was a little annoying at times but it did create an ambiance. The food was good and the bar had a fair selection though their wine choices were obviously limited and they were out of Pinot Grigio which is my wife's favorite and the Rosa Zin is a bit sweet, but let's leave that for Yelp!.
Overall a very nice stay, but please vacuum the lamp shades and clean the bathrooms better.

This particular hotel should be commended for their willingness to discount rooms for those having surgery at the local hospital and who have to be at the hospital very early. It was very convenient to have such a service available. Special thanks to the staff for working hard to get a handicapped room for the date we needed. Great place to stay.

I loved this hotel. Extremely friendly staff, great amenities, very sleek and clean look. I've always loved Holiday Inns. I am not a complainer, the only reason I have to explain myself here is because usually, I give the Holiday Inns 5/5 stars. I only gave 3/5 here for two reasons.
1. I was put into the room next to a noisy elevator. All I heard all night long was buzz buzz buzz. I could have let the staff know, but I don't like to cause trouble. I just can't believe you wouldn't put a soundproof wall next to an elevator for a guest room, way to go Mr. Architect...I would recommend discontinuing that guest room, or installing a soundproof wall for future guests.
2. I filled out my breakfast card for room service on the door. It said to put out before 3AM so you could be sure they received the order. I did that. I woke up expecting my breakfast and coffee to had been delivered, opened my door, and my order was still hanging on the door. I was very disappointed. I didn't have time to go downstairs for breakfast. I was busy typing e-mails and by the time I finished I had to leave for my meeting. So I didn't get breakfast that morning....which I regretted during my meeting a few hours later.

The hotel is comfortable and clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food is good. The location is excellent, kind of isolated but close to everything.
