Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by In the middle of renovations Mostly clean and comfortable -- and reasonably quiet for an airport location. Heard many times that they had just done a lot of renovations, and it showed -- good and bad. Some parts of the facility were clean and new, while others were still kind of beat up. And the end of the hallway on the top floor (and especially our room) had a sewage smell. All in all, a decent bet, and the staff was for the most part exceptional, but still working out a few kinks. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful, Great Service, Easy Access, but Understaffed This is a beautiful property. The renovation was definitely worth the money! I had a wonderful meal in the restaurant (Lamp, and it was AMAZING!) as well as drinks in the bar. I utilized the front desk for local recommendations and directions, with them being very courteous and helpful. We put on a conference at the hotel, just one day, and had a wonderful experience as well. The room was set up well, food was timely and the banquet support was there, but not overbearing. The only issue with this hotel is that they are extremely understaffed. I often had the same people in the early am (7 am) helping me at the front desk the same late evening (10 pm). I had several conversations with the staff at the hotel, between all departments, and the consensus was that they are very understaffed. Get these people some help before they become overworked and quit! Seems to me that you have so many people willing to help out, they are a great asset. Do them and yourself a favor by hiring additional staff. One side note - If there are people at the bar, still drinking at 11 pm, I suggest you keep the bar open, Seems like a great way to make more money for the hotel! There were a ton of cancelled flights and over 15 people in the bar, with no where to order food or drink with the exception of the pantry. Missed opportunity. I worked in the hotel industry... There are some keys points here that could save this company quite a headache down the road, as well as make some extra money! April 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly Staff Stayed at the Holiday Inn at the Charlotte airport and the first thing I noticed was how friendly the staff was when we got there. They answered every question that we asked with a positive response which was unusual for how people respond in todays society. We will definitely stay there when we have to travel out of Charlotte again. April 20, 2015
