Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Monticello visit The newly renovated rooms on the 2nd floor were much better to stay in, we had issues on the 5th floor which has yet to be touched by the new room designs. The staff was friendly and accommodating especially without our 1st night issues, as well as courteous throughout. The restaurant was "okay" for breakfast, nothing special and certainly not something that was worth paying those prices for. It is convenient when staying over, but nothing to rave about. The rest staff was friendly tho, and that made eating there pleasant. This hotel is so close to Monticello and Monroe's home so the convenience is wonderful and easy, and for that I would refer this hotel. It's right of 64 and so close to a CVS and downtown (UVA) which had great dining options. April 10, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Ever This is by far the worst Holiday Inn Property that I have stayed at. The staff is rude and treats platinum members poorly. The parking lot is dark. This is one hotel that Holiday Inn should replace. Even the remodeled rooms are of poor quality and not very clean. I will be staying someplace else the next time I come to Charlottesville VA. . I average 200+ nights per year With Holiday Inn and most stays are enjoyable. This hotel is a exception. Thanks David April 1, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ROADWARRIOR1953 I returned to this Hotel for the first time in 6 years, it did not have the glimmer as it did years ago, but was nice. The rooms are larger then most, the back side of this property is next to I-64 and you can hear the traffic pickup around 5AM, no need to set the alarm, it was the last room they had, so I was lucky to get a room. The young lady who delivered Room Service was extremly nice, she went above the call of duty to correct a mistake in the order of sweeten ice tea, the food was great, the order was delivered in 15 minutes, thats fast. I always receive a bottle of water at check-in, I asked the person at the front desk at check-in for one and was told they have a vending machine where I could buy one so I did. March 24, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by a sub-par experience There were dishes from another guest outside the door in our hall when we arrived; the heat in the room did not work, and there was a leak in the pipe under the sink. This was NOT a good place to stay, even for the relative price of lodging. March 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great location, great rooms, awesome staff I had a great stay, rooms was clean. Hotel under rennovations in two floors, i was able to see the one room they have completed. The bathroom was completely redone and look great. The rennovation is supposed to be done by the end of March, i look forward to the completion and staying in one of the new rooms. Great job Holiday Inn Monticello February 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Favorite Despite the fact that renovations were ongoing, the room was remarkably quiet. The staff was excellent, as was the comfort and cleanliness of the room. I can't comment on the restaurant, since we ate out with our family. Everything else was all smiles. On our previous visit, we experienced a water leak problem near the windows (but not through them) resulting in puddling on the carpet. We changed rooms to the opposite side of the building, but had the same problem at the next rain storm. On this visit, however, we encountered no such problems despite some rain. Hopefully, the renovations have solved whatever the problem was. We are once again VERY happy with this Holiday Inn. February 27, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by ROOMS When we checked in our rooms had no heat on. The temps were in the high twentys, to say the rooms were cold is an understatement. I understand the need to conserve energy, but you could at least leave the heat on about 50 degrees. The entrance to the motel was very dirty. It had not been swept in several days I am sure. I know construction is underway, but there is no shortages of brooms I assume. February 1, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great atmosphere, clean room We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn very much. Good service, very clean room, keep up good job! The only negative was the noisy heater/AC in our room. All the best to wonderful staff in the New Year. January 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasant surroundings and warm hospitality! We have had the pleasure of lodging at this location on several occasions in our travels, and the experience is always first-rate. The rooms are well-maintained and the entire staff is professional, helpful and friendly. Note: The hair dryer can be found in a zippered bag on the clothes rack. January 4, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good, but not great Pros: Overall, a good room, but nothing particularly fancy The Internet speed was good. Cons: Need to add 24-hour coffee availability in lobby and complimentary hot breakfast A lot of road noise from the adjacent Interstate Analog TV signal November 30, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Review in 2012 I have always had great service and at a good price. November 8, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by The bathroom was not very clean I don't know how old this Holiday Inn is. The toilet and the bathtub in my room have rings and stains that look like they have been there a while. The bathroom floor was not vacuumed at least one day of the three days we were there. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice room and Excellent Service Nice, comfortable, friendly and helpful staff. Full service, meals and bar October 25, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great room, mixed bag on service I stayed in one of the suite rooms and it was a great room - spacious, modern decor, full kitchen, and a very comfortable bed. When I checked in, the service at the front desk was very friendly but when I called later with a concern, I was told curtly "I'm with a customer" before being placed on hold. Well....I'm a customer, too?! When the man got back on the phone, he was still rather surly. If you can avoid the grumpy employee(s), you'll have a wonderful stay. The hotel is perfectly located for Monticello, Ash Lawn-Highland, the local apple orchard, several wineries, and downtown Charlottesville. October 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay Your hotel was a VERY pleasant surprise. Despite its proximity to the Interstate, the wooded setting was nice. And the access to Monticello and the other historical places in the area was also a plus. Would definitely recommend this property to anyone who wishes to tour history. And the restaurant was a REALLY wonderful convenience after tredding historical paths. Everything from Chicken Cordon Bleu to Grilled Cheese. Good breakfast too. The staff was also above par. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mission Accomplished For years my wife and I had wanted to visit Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. And we finally did it on a (weather-wise) mellow October weekend. The Holiday Inn website identified this property as being conveniently close to Monticello - and it was, in fact, only minutes away. We arrived late on a Friday night, ate a late dinner at the Inn's restaurant (the service was excellent, the food above average), and slept in a clean, comfortable room. The next morning we breakfasted in the dining room then spent a long day at Monticello, which included a hike to the top of Montalto, a beautiful, mostly-wooded mountain overlooking Jefferson's estate. The bed in our room felt wonderful after our total absorption in such a beautiful, historical site. My one complaint: There was no recognition of my status as a Priority Club Member. Overall, our weekend getaway to Monticello was a memorably satisfying experience. Thanks to the Holiday Inn for helping to make it so. October 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean comfortaable room, very convenient Everyone and every thing about the facility was very conducive to a relaxing experience. October 15, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by so - so After staying in other similar hotels, this one did not come out as impressive in any way. Our stay was only one night, and I was glad we could leave after that! Our shower head did not work so we were given the use of a bathroom in another room. The hotel was bit more expensive than I felt it was worth. Our food was not included beyond the cost of 2 basic breakfasts. I took 2 of my 3 children to breakfast at the hotel and had to pay quite a bit out of pocket beyond the coverage of the voucher. Not impressed. October 6, 2012
