I was so pleasantly surprised at this Holiday Inn. By far the most comfortable, cleanest, relaxing and best service of any Holiday Inn I have ever stayed at. My son just started UVA. I know where I will be coming back to for the next 4 years!

My husband and I stayed 3 nights here. It was very close to where my son lives, and convenient to other things. Service was good, and friendly employees. We would stay here again!

The facility was inviting. All areas were clean. Updated decor.The restaurant food was filling and served hot. Ate breakfast here. Perfectly cooked grits for my southern taste. Convenient to shopping, hospital and school.
I highly reccomend this Holiday Inn.

The room was clean and nice. Staff were nice as well. We brought our two dogs.
The only down side was the availability of food. Charlotte's did not have lunch hours and the kitchen closes at 9pm.

We had a very nice one-night stay. The room was perfect and check-in and check-out were a breeze. The only negative is that smokers congregate at the front door of the hotel, so the entrance to the hotel is really unpleasant..

was disappointed that the pool was outside and not heated. Charlottesville is partially in the mountains so it get s cool later in the evening. Also wasn't too crazy about the fact that they use recycled paper. Someone elses reservation was on the back of mine. Not very private. It was a much older hotel than the one I stayed in at Beckley and really needs a facelift. Bathrooms were old.

The hotel and rooms are up to date, well maintained and clean. The pool area was really nice. It is very close to the highway but there wasn't the highway noise. I stayed on the 2nd floor near the ice machine. Don't stay in that room. It was very noisy. We did ask to switch and the staff wanted to accommodate us but other rooms were all booked. The pool was open pretty late which made it nice for a cool down after a hot day of sight seeing. Monticello is very close as is UVA. Downtown was also a short drive. We also ate breakfast in the restaurant and it was very good. I would definitely stay here again.

This was a typical hotel with no added "perks". No complimentary breakfast, no coffee in the lobby, small pool, average rooms. The staff was always friendly and helpful. The on sight restaurant was overpriced. The room needed to have a small table to sit and and eat or play a game. The elevators were very slow and quite a wait if you were on the top floor. The hotel and rooms were very clean. It was located close to 64 and a brief drive into Historic Charlottesville, but not a difficult commute.

Things are just starting to look run down. Nothing major, just showing wear. Bed was comfortable, food OK for one breakfast & one dinner. Pool was COLD, which was not expected in July.

The staff was professional. Our stay was only 1 day and night. The hotel was very clean and our room was clean and comfortable. We did not use the pool, however others seem to enjoy it and it appeared to be clean and well maintained. We did not dine in the hotel. The location is perfect with easy access to I64.

Upon arrival trash can in front of building at the front door full when we got up the next morning no change. The lack of attention to detail in the lobby was evident by the dust in the corners bolt missing from the leg of the table in front of the television area. A single clerk assisted us when she asked a young male to retrieve a cart for our lugage he siad i just came from up stairs there isnt any, she requested he check again he ignored her. ( dont let him say he didnt hear her she was less than 2 foot from her while i was standing at the counter ) got on the elevator to thr right facing i was unable to stop on my floor.

I am a Priority Club member and have been for 10+ years. I try to stay exclusively at Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express. This was by far the worse experience I have encountered at a Holiday Inn Express property.
We had ants all throughout the room and earwigs in the seats. We called the the front desk and they never sent anyone to look at the situation.
The last straw came when we had to get our sheets changed out because blood stains were on the sheets. That was nasty.
I would not recommend this property to anyone.

The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. There was a large wedding group boarding a bus when we left for dinner Saturday night. We thought it might become loud when they returned, but we didn't hear anything at all.
Restaurant food was just above average, nothing special. It was easier and more convenient to have dinner in than to try to find a restaurant to go to on a Friday night, especially after having driven all day.
Staff was helpful when I requested an extra luggage rack.

I would never stay here again. The food in the hotel was absolutely the worst I have ever had. Who takes hash right out of the can and microwaves it? Not any chef that I know! I've been in this business for a very long time and I have never seen or had food that was so bad. As for the hotel it self not very clean and really dated in need of alot of attention. We had to wait for over an hour for our room when we arrived, as it wasn't ready. The front desk told us there was a new girl on her own and she was just slow. Absolutely no sense of urgency for any one or anything at this hotel.

I recently stayed here for a wedding located in Charlottesville. Supposedly, the wedding guests received a discounted price, however, it was still vastly overpriced, in my opinion.
My room had a musty smell with some other unidentifiable odor combined that never dissipated during my 2 and a half day stay. Also, there was no full-length mirror in the room - in fact, the only mirror at all was the bathroom mirror over the sink (so good luck getting ready to go when anyone else is using the bathroom). Also, the bathroom door is pretty transparent - this may not be a problem if a couple is sharing the room, but if there is a friend or coworker visiting your room, it may be awkward). There was no art or other mirror in my room; there were holes in the wall and nails sticking out where art probably used to be hanging (the hotel might be under renovation, but I'm not sure, I was never advised of this. They should inform guests if that is the case). The air conditioner unit in my room made a loud rattling noise whenever the air, as opposed to the fan, kicked on (it was not just the normal fan sound, it was a RATTLE that woke me up several times at night). Finally, this seems pretty trivial, but it's ridiculous that this was wrong - the channel listing provided in the room for the TV was wrong; not a single channel was listed correctly.
All in all, I found the stay pretty unsatisfying stay and I'm unhappy that I spent so much to stay here.

We stayed here to attend a local wedding. It was wonderful! The staff was warm and friendly, the room comfortable and clean. The breakfast that we had was delicious. I would recommend this hotel to my friends and would absolutely stay here again.

I had e-mailed to request that our rooms be ready earlier so our elderly mother could rest and change clothes for a 5:00 p..m. wedding and they were. Our room was fine and very comfortable and I liked having a choice of a firm or soft pillow and the bed was quite comfortable also. Delicious coffee on Sunday was a nice surprise. Nice staff, very helpful.

The hotel was in a very central location for visiting the Charlottesville area. The cost was more than expected but as a priority member I was greeted with an added incentive. Overall I good experience. WE would stay again.

The hotel has been totally renovated and is clean, new looking and comfortable. The front desk and restaurant staff were friendly and very accomodating with directions and places to dine. Great location for visiting Monticello-only 5 to 10 minutes away - and easy on/off to interstate.

The remodel of the rooms is great, However, The new bathroom door leaves a lot to be desired. It's see trough. I know this because while my wife is in the bathroom, our 4 years old grandson was sitting out side on the floor watching her.

We traveled to Virginia from Maryland, and when we arrived, we received excellent service.
My nephew's wedding reception was ejoyable, with plenty of good food, service and music. The staff went out of their way to be helpful.
This hotel has a happy atmosphere, and the staff are cheerful.This was an overall good experience.

I called to make reservations for a wheelchair accessible room with bars around the toilet. I was told I would have that and the room would have 2 queen beds, and that my room was guaranteed. I got none of that.
We had an inaccessible room, no bars around the toilet, and a king bed.
There were three of us, so we had a cot.
Our daughter could not use the sink or the toilet.
