Quality of conditions at this hotel were substandard. Even considering the construction taking place.
1. A half pitcher of what looked like ice tea with two glasses were in the hallway outside of room 320 when we checked into room 321 and was still in the hallway when we checked out the next day at 1:00PM.
2. We dined for two meals, dinner and breakfast, in the restaurant. I had the crab stuffed white fish for dinner and the stuffing was very salty.
3. At both dinner and breakfast the cloth napkins were stained and dirty. The place mats were faded and had seen better days.
4. There was what looked like an employee of friend of a staff member lounging in front of the TV in the bar area. The bar tender was bragging about being tired because he was up all night gambling.
Needless to say this is not the conditions I have come to expect at a Holiday Inn or Holiday Express.

We stay one day and the hotel is a great accommodation for our visit to Charlottesville. We may stop by some time later.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Billy P good hotel at a good price
I stayed for just 2 nights with my spouse and dog. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was worth the $12 for the two of us. My only complaints was the litter around the dog walk area (bottles, plastic food containers), and the noise from the interstate, which wasn't as bad as it could have been. I guess the windows are fairly well sound-proofed.

In addition to finding bugs in the rooms, the morning meal was very expensive for what we received. Service was very good and the newly renovated rooms on the second floor are very nice.

Pros: Good location right off the interstate (and road noise was minimal). Super comfortable bed. Renovated room. Nice television. Room and bathroom were clean. Staff was friendly
Cons: The heater in the room was so noisy that it woke us both up every time it came on. The temperature in the room was inconsistent. The bathroom door was a sliding door, which looked cool, but left a large gap on each side that made the bathroom not private. We got breakfast in the hotel's restaurant and the food was TERRIBLE.
Overall, I would still stay here again. The cons were annoying but did not ruin our night! It is still a comfortable hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mrs. Moo Convenient and comfortable
The rooms have been recently renovated and are very comfortable. The sink in the bathroom needed some additional cleaning around the drain but not bad. The A/C heating unit was pretty quiet unlike what we experienced in Lumberton at the Holiday Inn. The staff at the front desk and in the restaurant were friendly and helpful. I was delighted to find updated equipment in the exercise facility but disappointed there were no free weights. We will use this Holiday Inn again as my sister lives in Charlottesville and is dealing with cancer.

This was a nice place and the only thing we didn't like was the shower. You had to be in the shower to reach the controls and would be blasted by cold water.Everything else was pretty good.
