Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BurletonFamily Great Family Hotel for chessington
We have stayed 3 times now at the Chessington Holiday Inn and it's be fantastic everytime. The staff are welcoming, the family rooms are very clean, spacious & tastefully decorated and the breakfast has a great choice of food for all. There is loads to keep the kids occupied including a fab swimming pool to use. It is also only a 5min drive from shops & restaurants so you don't have to eat in the Hotel as we find the Grill Restaurant a little bit pricey as we have 3 fussy eating kids. I would definately recommend to anyone looking to stay in or around chessington. My family love & and cant wait to go back.

I don't normally write reviews but really felt that I had to with this one. Stayed with my two children in a room overlooking the lodge we thought it was fantastic. It was so nice to see the ostriches so close.
The family room was lovely and clean and the staff were very attentive.
All in all we were very impressed and cant wait to stay there again!

Room clean and tidy. Extra space kids great and nice touch.
Had extra fold out bed if needed. Breakfast was plentiful and good enough. Kids entertainment was great. Only stayed 1 night but from our experience would highly recommend it.

As a wheelchair user and after having a very unsatisfactory day at chessington world of adventures the hotel staff seem to go above and beyond to make our stay better , it's a very pleasurable stay for the whole family my children loved the film seating area for kids and pool , my wife and I felt relaxed from the time we entered the hotel it was spotless with child friendly staff . our night stay can only be summed up by one word "outstanding" , it's a pity it's associated to the park as we won't go back to that one but will use holiday inn in the future

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by LB2114 Good stay although issues with room duplication
This is a great hotel for kids, well planned lay out. Rooms were clean and tidy. Breakfast good and an ideal stay for a trip to Chessington.
We arrived, checked in,went to our room, 5 minutes later another guest came into our room,it was double booked, then we had two phone calls from two different staff to check our surname (no explanation)and then two seperate visits from staff visiting our room to see if we were moving room !
We went back down to reception to clarify and upon asking we were asked if we were complaining......assume this meant if we did want to complain we would have got a different answer! They said they had no idea how it had happened as the computer doesnt let these things happen!!
Not the best first impression....some service training needed, espcially at the rates charged.

Room wasn't ready at 3pm so was offered a room upgrade BUT had to pay extra! So I paid rather than wait indefinitely. Room was nice and my kids loved the view. Plus I am Gold Elite but got nothing for that...

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Aikibob No quite what I expect from IHG
Chessington is definitely a family orientated hotel, for business use no wifi in the rooms is unusual these days. I wasn't impressed that it took 20 minutes when I got there to find my confirmed reservation, whilst the staff were polite being told to go away a sit down why they found it didn't sit well. But the staff were very polite and did their best to sort it.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DowJones Noisy, cooking smell, and poor staff
Holiday Inn is probably a good destination when you visit the animal park with children. For other reasons, this is not the right place to be, with a lot of noise, and an overall smell of cooking.
The reception organized a taxi to bring me to the entrance of Epsom, and charged 18 pounds, vs. 9 pounds on average with other taxi's. The driver was not from an official taxi company, and justified his charge by saying that he had to come from the office! I was lucky that his office is not in Paris!
Shannon at the reception did not care about this, and pretended it was my problem! Fantastic.
On Saturday, my room was not yet cleaned at 15:00, although we had reminded at 12:00 to clean the room during lunch time. Finally, the room ended up not being cleaned at all.

the whole experience was very good as we got our room on a very very good deal, however we would not pay full price for the room that we had. Food and drink is very good, but overpriced.
My advice is to never go in term time and make sure you get a very good deal.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 OK Service sounds harsh but......
On the whole a lovely hotel and nice level of service, that said I have a few minor gripes given the star rating and cost I feel these small things shouldn't really have happened or could have been organised better.
Some and most of the staff were exceptionally helpful and happy to be there etc. everything you would expect, but this was let down but the bar staff being a little put out by our presence in the bar and requiring serving, it was all too much for them.
The room was lovely with a small room/designated area for the childrens room but I feel it was big enough and would have benefited from a small settee and at the price you pay you expect to be able to sit next to your hubby and look at the view of the zufari which you had also paid extra to see, but standing or one chair only viewing allowed in this room.
Also could do with advertising the fact that until dusk you are able to go outside and see all the animals in the park which was not told to us until we overheard it on the second day by which time I was dusk so we completely missed out.

The hotel was bright, clean, welcoming and with a lovely view from the restaurant, it made meal times a bit more fun! The staff were very friendly and efficient and nothing seemed like too much trouble. Our room was comfy and clean. We did have a slight issue with some of the food, but it was delt with so didn't really become a problem. Overall a very pleasent stay.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Chesington with my daughter and 2 grandsons aged 3 & 5. We opted for a family room overlooking the Wanyama Village and had a fantastic time form the moment we checked in until we sadly checked out the following day. The staff were friendly, polite and profressional. Our room was so comfortable and had a fantastic view. We had both breakfast and dinner in the restuarant and enjoyed all our meals. We use the leisure facilities which were clean and well run. Overall we had a brilliant time and will be definately be returning.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by raeknap Great themed hotel
I was delighted to receive a room upgrade on arrival - the safari rooms are great and the children loved their little 'hide out' which meant they could watch their own tv and we could have our own space too. The food in the bar was lovely and the view of the animals whilst having our meals was delightful. A recommended hotel - very enjoyable stay :)

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Aneres Family weekend
The hotel was nice, loved the restaurant the food was filling the breakfast choice was very good. The drinks I found were quite expensive. The bedroom was not as good as expected as the children's bunk beds were in the same room and we had to go to bed at the same time as the kids couldn't sleep with the tv on. The kids and I both loved the pool and spa even though there should be a separate pool for children as my 5 year old cant swim. But overall I would recommend and visit again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by rolf101 great room!
We were made to feel very welcome and all the staff were friendly. Check-in was quick and easy.
Our room was huge! More than we were expecting. We had a great view as well and even though we didn't pay for a 'zufari' view we could see many animals. My son thought this was fantastic!
Everything looked clean and tidy and well maintained. The verandas over looking the park were lovely to just sit and relax on. There was no pressure of having to buy a drink or food to be there.
My only complaint would be that the restaurant was pricey for what you got, but maybe that's just because I don't eat out much!!
Over all it was a fantastic stay and we hope to go back again soon.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ScoobyDooWhereAreYou A wonderful, family hotel.
We absolutely loved our break at the Chessington Holiday Inn! Booked as a deal which included 2 day entry to Chessington World of Adventures, we would really recommend this as an excellent short break for families. Also included was parking in the hotel car park and breakfast. They show movies for kids in the evening, and there's a walk at the back of the hotel to go and see some of the animals on the savannah. with beautiful scenery. You really feel like you are in Africa! And, if that's not enough, there's a swimming pool as well. Cannot fault anything!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dee1954 Great Stay
I stayed at this hotel with my 3 grandsons aged 15,11 & 6 and was made to feel very welcome from the start, staff very polite and helpful and although quite a few people checking in at the same time it all ran very smoothly and without too long waiting. The hotel was really great room was a fantastic size and nice choice of breakfast and the best thing about it was it was nice and hot. There was only one downside to my stay which is in no way a fault of the hotel but due to irresponsible parents who just let their kids run riot around the hotel which is very annoying when you bring kids and see other kids that know how to behave and, especially as the hotel provides entertainment for them, I did see a number of people with very young babies and they must have been annoyed if they had been woken up by these unruly children. I feel that it may be a good idea for someone to walk round the hotel at intervals and ask the kids who are running wild to return to their rooms

Myself and my family stayed for just one night after a lovely day at the park, the family room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The food was lovely in the resturant as was the breakfast the following morning. We used the swimming pool too which was also lovely and clean. There was such a great family feeling to the hotel that I felt comfortable leaving my children in the foyer watching films on large bean bags. The staff were also very friendly, helpful and couldn't do enough for us on our arrival and during our stay. We will stay there again the next time we visit chessington.

What a brilliant venue. Spotless with staff that are very customer focussed. Fiona on reception deserves a special mention - thank you. My 7 year old daughter loved the donuts at breakfast especially with chocolate sauce.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by lyncho7 All round great hotel
I have stayed at the hotel twice now and never been disappointed with what I have seen. Great friendly service with a smile at all times, excellent facilities throughout the hotel, and comfortable spacious bedrooms. Would highly recommend and will definitely be coming back again. My only area for improvement would be maybe more variety on the evening meal menu, but that is a small observation.

We had 2 nights in this Hotel. Great helpful staff, Clean and comfortable.
We would stay again. Restaurant gets booked up very early so book if you can.
Steam room wasn't working unfortunately for our stay but sauna was nice.
The children's film area is in the Lobby unfortunately there is not much seating for them just some flattened beanbags!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by lulu8062 Brilliant time.....again !
I booked this break as we had such a great time last year. Again, I cannot fault the staff on the Reception, restaurant, bar or the maids in the morning - everyone is polite, helpful and friendly.
My Daughter loves the hotel theme, décor and the animals roaming at the back of the hotel - it adds a little extra to your stay.
I am sure to return again...and would gladly recommend this hotel - Keep up the good work !!

Myself and my family stayed here for 2 nights from the minute we drive into the car park and my two young boys eyes lit up I knew we were going to have a fantastic time. The hotel is "awesome and the best ever hotel" the words of my 6 year old. We booked a standard family room and was overwhelmed with the space and the amazing view which we wernt expecting. Check in was easy the staff were great and explained everything we needed to know. We swam in the pool ate in zafari and drank in the bar. The children enjoyed the ranger club and meeting Alex and Julian at breakfast. Overall we have had a brilliant time and look forward to going back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Minimaggs17 Fabulous family hotel !
We stayed here for one night combined with 2 days in the chessington world of adventures. The hotel is fantastic- fab themed decor all round and themed bedrooms too. We have the premium merlin passes so the room was at a discounted rate but was still good value for money, inc breakfast . Your stay also includes early rider time so you can beat the queues for the first half hour and get one fastpass for your choice of ride during the day .
