We stayed here for one night combined with 2 days in the chessington world of adventures. The hotel is fantastic- fab themed decor all round and themed bedrooms too. We have the premium merlin passes so the room was at a discounted rate but was still good value for money, inc breakfast . Your stay also includes early rider time so you can beat the queues for the first half hour and get one fastpass for your choice of ride during the day .

FANTASTIC KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Overal had a great stay. Staff were very helpful from the outset. Robyn on the front desk was brill. A credit to the hotel. We had a couple of issues with our booking but she sorted them without a problem and also made our evening meal special by arranging some balloons for our table as it was a birthday.
The room had lots of space with a stunning view. Very clean with everything you need. Beds were great too no bumps on the feeling they were about to collapse!

Arrived to a very warm welcome...the staff were helpful and knowledgable.
The room was clean and we had a great view of some of the animals.
The restaurant was great and the staff really efficient and professional, nothing was too much trouble..and considering they were really busy they were unflappable.
Please pass on our thanks to all....we will definitely recommend to our friends.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Dibdob Slightly disappointed but still enjoyable
Check in was quick and friendly. We received hotel information and early park info, although there were two conflicting meeting times for this. One info paper said meet at 9am and the other said 9.10am! We paid £30 extra for a Wanyama Reserve view but our window was tiny compared to my sisters room and she paid the same.My son had to stand on a chair to see out of it but hers was a large panoramic style window down to the floor! The pillows were rather hard and the shower sprayed out of the top of the hose and went absolutely everywhere. The room was clean and tidy. The early park entry only provided access to the Asia area, not the whole park, but we were able to ride Vampire and Dragons Fury quickly. The food was average, nothing special, although the service was friendly and helpful. The pool is small and was busy, and there was quite a lot of hair floating about in it which put me off a bit. They should ask guests to tie their hair up.Overall we enjoyed our stay but thought it was overpriced for what it is.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn over for 1 night and we had a brillant time. The Zafari restaurant messed up our food order but they were quick to re-order all our food and even offer us half price as well.
Staff are very very helpful.
Wanyama viallage rooms are awesome and kids loved thier space as we had a family room. The african theme was brillant.
Kids had movie time, story time , character breakfast and the list is endless.
I will go there again and again.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Mallards12 Not up to. Standard
Booked weeks in advance with central reservations and asked to have 2of the3 rooms together so that the children could go to bed before us and know we were only next door. This had not been arranged on arrival, fortunately the receptionist did in the end arrange this after saying in the first instance that it would be possible.
We had a flyer in the room telling us that we could have early entry into Chessington. This turned out not to be available to us as I had booked a dinner, b &b break. So. Not only can we not get in early we have to walk out of the hotel and stand inline with all the other people arriving by bus and car. At the end of the day we tried to make our way back to the hotel through the park but they ha d already closed the gate so we had to walk all the way back again.
The breakfasts were not very good and hopeless for the Vegetarian , No bread rolls and no cheese

My wife and daughter inform me that this was our 7th stay at Chessington and we'll be back for an 8th.
At reception they couldn't be more helpful - excellent recognition of platinum membership.
The restaurant staff, as ever, were 1st class although I feel the menu might need an upgrade.
The bar staff are under pressure on a busy Saturday night and cope well although some guests play the game of seeing if they can get served as quickly as possible irrespective of whether they are next in line or not. Other than that the staff and surroundings will keep me comming back. It's disappointing that lunch isn't served until 3 pm now in the bar as sometimes that's what the family fancied - a light lunch in the bar.
Our room was very comfortable and clean as I would expect from HI.
I would say though that the early rider offering could be handled slightly better. I accept, that may not be under the hotels control but I feel that the half hour wait while rides are made ready then the yomp to the other side of the park where you are then invited to try and race all the other early birds to a ride needs more thought. Then when you finally get to a ride and despite being told by our yomp leader to go through the fast track entrance (and in writing when arriving at the hotel) the young lady in charge of the gate on Vampire informed us we were in the wrong line and we had to go through the normal entrance. Right hands and left hands spring to mind, needless to say by the time we went and joined the other queue the non early riders had been let in and I had a very disgruntled child on my hands in a very long queue.
All that aside we had a wonderful stay in an excellent venue who's staff are a credit to the group.

We had booked the room as part of a group booking for a wedding reception at Chessington Golf Club.
I was dissappointed that no welcoming gift in the newly married couple's room. The Holiday Inn knew that they had a wedding party staying there and obviously had extra business because of this.
A bottle of sparkling wine and chocs would have been a nice gesture for them. My Son was dissappointed . The room had been booked for a year!
I did complain to the reception upon checking out the next morning and she said my comments would be passed on to management.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RachB Fantastic Experience hope to return!
We have just returned from a 2 night stay and all agree that the hotel totally surpassed our expectations, we had a lovely room and the staff were friendly and really helpful. The kids loved the buffet breakfast with Moshi Monsters or Madagascar characters in attendance then in the evening had fun at the rangers club and swimming in the pool. Our older boys (8 & 6) loved their 'den' part of the room with their own beds and TV. We were lucky to have good weather so got to see some of the animals in the evening and sit out overlooking part of the safari whilst the kids joined in with the outdoor games. We hope to be able to visit again.

Food, Staff and animals Great!
Me and my partner stayed child free during the last week of the school term and found it very noisy with lots of children already on school holidays.
Room comfort was great however when you want a lay in on your day off and have other peoples children running up and down the hall ways of the hotel at 8am this is not the ideal place to be during peak times if you have no children with you!
Apart from that the overall atmosphere is fantastic. Pool nice however packed with children until 8pm, Spa treatment great and nice small gym!

Room was lovely, with separate child sleeping area. Access to the a small area of the zoo after the park had closed was a real benefit. The food choice was very limited. We stayed at Legoland resort hotel last year and the food service was far better. The internet cost per room was also very high. The cinema club was excellent. The staff were very helpful.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Martin123 Beware Chessington Holiday Inn
Having experienced multiple diificulties gaining access to the bedrooms at Chessington (4 occasions in 4 months) after being a regular visitor every fortnight over the past 5 years its finally time to admit defeat & cancel all my future bookings. On one occasion the room was even left unlocked & I've been informed several times by numerous staff members that the room locking system is known to be becoming unreliable as its batteries are regularly failing.
I will now book into Epson Downs Hol Inn Express (much better food quality & you even get a free drink if you are a platinum member), or I'll use another hotel brand in nearby Leatherhead.
Only book if you can still feel safe here with the room security failings & if you can enjoy 3 trips to reception before you gain first access to your room (its best to plan an extra 30 mins for the process from my experience).

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DEY23 Excellent and Personalised Customer Service
Recently stayed here for 12 days, the hotel was very clean and had all the required amenities. The staff were not only helpful but friendly and greeted me each evening with a friendly welcome that made me feel like I was arriving home.
During my stay there were some issues with my door lock and they dealt with them efficiently and offered me an alternative room, which I declined as I didn't want to unpack again, so they ensured a new key was ready each evening. The manager Mikey sent me a personalised note apologising along with a nice treat.
When I need a hotel next year in this locale I will certainly return, with the size of the hotel it could have been impersonal but the staff ensured it wasn't.

We stayed hear for our sons 1st birthday and what an amazing experience!
We were in an executive suit on the top floor over looking the wanyama reserve. Only wish there were more animals put out within 24 hours (I was told animals out subject to weather) and it was scorching hot so I understand that they may have wanted to keep them in the shade! However my son loved seeing the ostriches through our window and the giraffes while we were eating breakfast, and may I add what a yummy breakfast! Loads of variety to fill you up for the journey home or another day out!! Will defo recommend to friends and family and will defo stay again!!
Also 10 mins away from train station which is a bonus! And full use of facility's eg- pool, gym, e c t!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by amwi66 London Chessington Holiday Inn
Stayed at the hotel on a Friday and Saturday night. The room was comfortable, and the hotel has a great location for Chessington Zoo etc., with views over enclosures and small zoo walk exclusively for hotel guests after the zoo closes.
There are issues with service at this hotel though, food service is very slow with very long waits for bar food and room service (we were quoted 2 hours on Saturday, that was after it took over 20mins to get room service on the phone). The restaurant wait was over 1hr 30 mins, even though there were empty tables. There are no other restaurants in the are, so it is quite frustrating.
The hotel is very noisy with children running up and down the corridors from about 6am! They really do need to get more staff into the hotel when it's full, I won't be staying there again, which is a shame as it's a nice Hotel, in a great location just spoiled by the low level of service.

When i booked I was only looking for a reasonably priced hotel for B&B for the night, as i was visiting a poorly friend nearby and wouldn't be able to get home later that night. What a surprise, i didn't realise it was in the middle of the Adventure Park.
From my room which was very spacious and clean, Zebra were wondering around and the next morning there were Giraffe, Ostrich and Deer, what a wonderful way to start your day!
It then got better, i thought we would get a simple breakfast and i had a train to catch so wondered in planning to have a piece of toast and an orange juice. I was amazed to see such a wonderful spread of very fresh, carefully prepared and huge choice of breakfast!
I have to admit my piece of toast soon resembled a large full cooked breakfast ,which was delicious and eaten while watching the wildlife come to life!.
Thank you for a very nice surprise.

I would not classify the hotel as Business Hotel, in fact it happens to be in the middle of nowehere, but if you are travelling with young children it will be a sure hit with them due to the park and the hotel very characteristic design. Food is not something you will rememmber it for but the park and amusement make it one of its kind.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Whirley Not told bunk beds in all double room
After booking a double room we found we had bunk beds in our room when asked way the staff were very unhelpful saying its a family hotel all rooms have bunks. I can see for many this is a plus for others it is not. This being on the website so you can decide which suits you. We have stayed at the hotel since it first opened, we will not stay again the stranded has dropped in all ways eating is like a visit to a poor school canteen. We did get put in in an upgraded room for our last night which whey said we would not be charged for but then we came to pay we were told the price we had in writing was not right and 30 pounds was added to the bill.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NikandRich Fantastic Hotel just want to go back
The stay at this hotel was literally perfect, fantastic room overlooking the animals, clean and spacious, wonderful bar area to relax and unwind, great leisure facilities to have some time out, then finish the day with a superb meal again sat outside with animals close by, then a stroll around the zoo area to complete our stay.Myself my son and husband really didn't want to leave staff cant do enough to help and the hotel is very child friendly but with areas designed for children (tv area, games room) there is also adult time available. A special thanks to Nicole on reception who made such an effort from the time we arrived, what a wonderful hotel. I would recommend this to anyone and we cant wait to come back again soon, made the drive from DEVON no hassle at all and every bit worth while. Thanks
