Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hotel Of Adventure I am absolutely, unbelievably blown away... The perfect service experience in a British Resort Hotel in October!!!! Finding the hotel was simple enough, great map & directions on t'intenet... Parking included, although spaces just a little too tight... The receptionist was outstanding, having arrived at 9:30pm he took time to explain things... And I asked a lot of questions. The room was a surprise - completely made over in Halloween sty-lee - see the photo - so special for my 11 year old daughter. The service was flawless from start to finish - its as if being close to The World of Adventures had infected everyone with a helpfulness virus. The restaurant staff couldn't do enough for us. Going off several times to make sure I had everything I wanted - even stuff not on the menu... Really! The trip also involved visiting the Theme Park too, and if you do this too, you can get early access to the park at 9:00am from the hotel, ahead of the Park opening - definitely worth doing if you're not on an inset day like we were... Parking at the hotel is free for guests and this includes the day you check out - making your visit to the Park just that little less expensive, as you can leave the car parked in the hotel all day whilst you enjoy the rides. VERY impressed. The pool was fun too. Very family friendly. Everything you'd expect - jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, gym and the towels are provided so don't need to pack your own. Remember the £1 for the lockers (which you get back). This place is a real treasure and despite me being only 40 miles away, I would definitely stay here again... And cannot recommend it highly enough. I just hope you have the same experience we did... I really haven't experienced better. Well done and thank you! Stayed October 2012 November 22, 2012

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome hotel The activities laid on by the Chessington rangers and the facilities and views from the hotel makes a stay here an absolute must. November 8, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by poor service and comunication got there very late at night to be rudely told by an evening member of staff that i had not payed when i insisted i had which i showed them on a bank statement to which he wouldent let me have my room untill i had payed a further charge for it. being so late i did but when i complained in the morning i didnt even get the room for what i had originally payed for. rang the zufari resteraunt to book a table and asked if it was full menu which the answer was yes but when arrived it was buffet only so we left to go the the beefeater down the road which was nicer and cheaper. had a shower that leaked and flooded the bathroom when it was used and a tv that didnt work. told that we had to pay a fee of £50 a night just incase any costs needed to be covered that would be reunded after the stay that then took 7 days to get refunded. do not stay here. the hotel is beautiful the the service is awful November 5, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful school holiday weekend Great weekend in fantastic family rooms. To say the hotel was full of kids the quality of the food and the attentive staff were excellent. The only minor quibble was lack of reception staff at peak times. Great to come back from the theme park and be able to rest for an hour or two. The whole family loved it and want to go back. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brilliant Stay We had a great overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Chessington. It is brilliantly situated next to the park. Very relaxing and would definitely stay again. October 29, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A fantastic family retreat This was our 4th stay at your fabulous hotel, slightly different for us this time as we stayed in one of you themed rooms, WOW, that was one of your best kept secrets, our kids were in their element, under their tented room with the secret safe, us adults did miss the lovely view of the savannah in the morning tho, not quite the same looking at the car park. The atmosphere was as relaxing as usual, long with attentive, friendly staff, and fabulous food. October 27, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Quality of Evening Food and Some Staff Customer Service The quality of food in the restaurant in the evenings was very poor. One of the staff was asked for a soft drink with no ice. When this was brought with ice, she was informed of this and proceeded to empty the ice abruptly onto the tray that had held the drink - not the most appropriate gesture. October 26, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great family friendly hotel! Great family friendly hotel, would definately recommend to friends and family. I would have given it five stars, just abit disappointed that we had a family room with a small window, our 3 year old had to stand on chair to see out of the window. When we went outside we noticed it was only the end rooms that had small windows, all the other windows were longer. Breakfast was good too. October 14, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by disappointed As a wedding was taking place during our stay, there was loud music playing until midnight! Also pool was busy (during weekend) and therefore we needed to book a slot and there was a 35 minute wait, didnt find this out until arriving at the pool. Was not told that there was a code needed in order for the barrier to lift to leave the car park, tried using the intercom at the barrier to call for assistance, no person answered, 2 cars who were queing behind us did not know code either, they reversed to allow me to drive back to hotel to get code from reception staff. Cooked breakfast was cold. Overall an unpleasant experience, will not return, and I am surprised as all other Holiday Inn s I have stayed in have been great. Also paid extra for a room overlooking the animal reserve but during oct-March animals are put away for the night by 5pm, so a waste of money if you go during off peak season. October 12, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel shame about the staff..... On arrival the hotel is very pleasing to look and great for the 2 children who were with us. What a shame when we got to the room and it wasn't a themed room as booked, went back to reception only to be told that it was impossible to have booked a themed room over the phone, even though we had email confirmation clearly stating a themed room booked, it was a treat for my daughters 9th birthday. The hotel was full so we were stuck with a room overlooking the car park and the only compensation was a few birthday balloons and no refund of the difference or room type. Dinner was a nightmare as the restaurant was heaving - waited an hour for our starters, which I hasten to add was houmous and bread and then another 40 minutes for the main course by which time my son was asleep. The pool had a 45 minute waiting time. Breakfast was also heaving and waited 20 mins to get seated although couldn't fault the breakfast once in. The hotel is very clean, such as shame about the poor service. Made a complaint and still waiting to hear....... October 12, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A bit cold........ We had a great weekend apart from the fact that the bedroom window would not close and it was freezing all night. When we checked out the lady on reception thought it was quite amusing !! Everything else was great though October 12, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Clean & comfortable. Poor breakfast Clean and comfortable but let down with poor & expensive buffet breakfast. Frequently ran out of food and quoted 2 different prices for breakfast. Would use hotel again but with no breakfast October 6, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely accommodation and friendly staff We recently enjoyed 3 nights at the Hotel on a family break for myself, my husband and 3 children. We had a fabulous time. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the room was lovely and clean. Although the extra bed was not in the room waiting for us a phonecall later and a nice chap brought in a substantial extra bed for our third child to sleep in. The food was excellent although a bit unusual for children to have the option of chips or rice with pasta! but the staff were very accommodating for our fussy 7 year old who had cucumber sticks with her pasta every night. I would very much recommend the hotel, the views of the ostriches and zebras every morning was a delight! October 5, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love this place This was our second visit to this hotel. We wanted somewhere close to london so we could easily access the local amenities. it was our anniversary and we had an amazing time and definitely will visit again next year. September 19, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Aircon in room not working again I have stayed in this hotel several time on business and every time to aircon in the rooms don't work, this means no sleep as the temperature is too high due to lack of airflow in the hotel. We booked a reservation with the restaurant for 7pm via Habib the manager, we arrived from the theme park at 6.10 checked in and told the desk we would be unable to make the 7pm reservation. When we got into our room the restaurant called us and said would we like to change the restaurant time, we advised we wanted to change it to 8pm. When we arrived at the restaurant we were told by the restaurant manageress that we did not have a reservation, she asked who booked it, I advised originally through Habib, the hotel manager and before I had chance to finish my sentence she had rubbished him, say "oh that explains it" I found her manner and profesnalism very poor and not one of a manager. Problem with the pool meant our children could not use it that evening. In all a very poor experience again. August 31, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keep coming back This hotel sits perfectly with the theme of Chessington with its African theme running throughout the hotel. Generally a busy hotel and being adjacent to the park very family orientated, which is good or bad depends on your reasons for staying. As a business guest maybe not ideal. I have stayed several times with my now nine year old daughter and each time we have had a ball. The staff go out the way to help you, a lot recognising us from previous stays. The pool/spa are great, food in the bar and restuarant good although sometimes pricey, something to expect from a hotel like this. I have had several room types from regular, family and executive, although the latter are superior, all are good and regularly maintained. However I recommend a room with a view over the Wayama village and savannah (unless you have a phobia of antelope, zebra and ostrich). I still would like to see lions out there with them!. Overall a great experience, always made to feel at home. One downside though that I did find with this hotel (and many others) why no free WiFi? August 22, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A fantastic family hotel What can I say everything for us was brilliant from the friendly and helpful staff to the clean comfortable room , we also dined in the restaurant which again the staff were lovely and the food was very good . I would highly recommend the themed rooms for families as my 7 year old loved having his own special room . We will definately be coming again . July 26, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No Help What So Ever We were having a great night before the kids went to bed one of the kids bed was full of sand and she could not sleep in it so she had to sleep in our bed with us we could not phone to get it fix as my other child was asleep next to the bed that was full of sand . This is were my issue is when I was checking out I told the lady and she told the manager and the manager said "never mind " and that was it the lady checking us out looked at me a said " sorry " . We were going to stay with you in a few weeks for my girls birthday but I think we will stay down the road at the monkey puzzle . But the food was very good . Thanks Mick July 16, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely family room with stunning views We had a lovely stay our room was fantastic for the kids having its own section for them. We were disappointed though because when it came to having our evening meal we weren't told we had to book so found there was no room! So we had to go elsewhere to have a meal. Also we did the early rider where they say you can get into the park 30 minutes before everyone else but what we found was that 90% of the rides were shut! If we had known this we would have spent time in the hotel pool. The hotel and staff were of a high standard but unfortunately this let it down. July 14, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissappointing New Year break Although the hotel was good, the overall experience of the New Year package that we booked for New Years Eve & New Years Day was extremely dissappointing. We were part of the 'Merlin Passholders' New Year Priority package. Kids didn't get a meal until 9pm as there were time slots allocated for the restaurant and although we arrived at check-in time every early slot had already gone, so we had tired hungry children. The main event room was far too small with no where near enough tables for the people booked. We therefore spent most of our New Year in the lobby! Of the tables in the main room, tables & glasses were not cleared all night even though there were glass collectors available. Would NEVER book one of these packages again or reccommend. I did complain to both Holiday Inn & Merlin, but received no apology or follow up. The gas broke in the restaurant the following morning for breakfast, so there were huge queues and delays of over an hour with limited choice. The room and reception were excellent but this 'special package' ruined the whole experience. Very, very dissappointing. As a family we were all looking forward to this special break and were totally let down, from the lack of organisation, to the lack of space, lack of staff this was 2 nights that I won't be repeating. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Stay in Chessington Out of the way hotel. Very functional but with added African theme. Food not great unless you wanted steak. July 12, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Great room and good breakfast This was our second choice of location as our usual Holiday Inn on Epsom Downs was full. We were very impressed. The room was lovely and we slept well. A really good breakfast in the restaurant with ostriches (or were they emus?) wandering past the window was a great surprise and we enjoyed that too. Thoroughly recommended - and now we know two good places to stay near Epsom. July 12, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My stay Fabulous staff Bath seat very small for disabled. Otherwise great July 11, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing I have called the hotel 4 times with regards to this booking (since it was made in January), I then called Customer Serivces with my complaint 10 days ago. I am still awaiting the promised 48hr reply. The hotel is fine if you are going to the park, I cannot see any other reason why you'd choose it. The swimmming pool changing rooms are not ideal. More health club than family hotel - no family rooms. July 11, 2012
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Venue, Awful Service Great Venue and used to be one of my favourite venues for required business trips but the last couple of visits have been really poor. No PC welcome at check in, dated bedrooms, Bar menu now very limited. July 11, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Family Stay One night wasnt enough!! The kids loved eveything, from the giant giraffe in the reception to the view of the zoo from our room. Everything was first rate, the breakfast was fantastic the pool amazing, and our room was spacious the kids loved their own little bedroom area and tv,would definately stay there again.. July 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Easter break with my son Travelling alone with either or both of my sons is always a possibly challenging experience, but this was brilliant. I only had my 9 year old with me this Easter as his brother was on a Scouting trip so we decided to treat ourselves to a mini-break at Chessington. The hotel could not have been better for us. Entertainment and great food for my son, and I was very happy with it. extremely comfortable and with him so happy more than able to relax. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, and it was wonderful to have the zoo to ourselves every evening - a real treat. I would certainly stay again and my son keeps asking when we can go back. July 10, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Get for families We love it here. The staff are always friendly. The children love the film and games nights and the fish in the reception. The little shop with sweets and goodies from Chessignton WOA which is next door. We have been here 3 times and will be going back again soon. July 10, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous location. A lovely bright clean hotel situated next to Chessington World of Adventures so was ideal to allow us two days to explore the park. The swimming pool was a benefit and helped us relax after our busy day. July 10, 2012
