We had a super time here. The Savannah room is well worth paying the extra for as you can watch the zebras, ostriches and gizelles from your bedroom. Rooms spacious and clean. Loved the fact that kids could watch dvd on anilmal bean bags in foyer . Swimming pool manic but it was 90 degrees so I think everyone had the same idea after a day at the park!! Impressed with Chessington park, but if your disabled take a mobility scooter as not very flat unless your carer is super fit! get a disabled persons wristband from guest services on entering the park , I was not told about this unitl 2nd day, so could have avoided stress of queuing in a wheelchair!! had 3 days there and still did not see everything, great place will be back soon.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DoddG Amazing food and great overall
We were welcomed by friendly staff. The room we stayed in was well kept and the view was brilliant, my 2yr old daughter loved seeing the animals roaming about. My partner loved relaxing outside with the view of the animals, but I was won over by the food, well cooked and presented, with quick and efficient service. Superb.

Had a fantastic stay here on 3/7/13 with my 2 children (4,8) and my husband. We enjoyed a day in the park and then to the hotel. The room overlooked the Zufari animals and the kids loved it. The room had a seperate area for the kids so they felt like they had their own room. The hotel was clean and had so much to entertain the kids, movies, WII room and the animals that the grown ups could relax and enjoy a well earned rest. The only let down was choice of food in the evening restaurant, not too many healthy options but other than that highly recommend.

Rooms were spacious and comfy with all necessary amenities lovely family rooms with adjoining doors. Great food and staff couldn't do enough for you. Can't wait to go back even without visiting the theme park.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MisterMav 7:15 PM and our room wasn't ready!
After a 4 hr drive with 2 small children we arrived at 7:15pm to check in only to be told that our room wasn't ready! We were advised to go to the bar and have a drink (with our bags and children) and wait until it was done! I asked if we could freshen up as one of the children had been sick on the way there and was told to use the toilets near the bar...
When we eventually got into the room we found it to be tired and tatty and in need of some refurbishment. The headboard and side tables were dusty and carpet stained. These were supposed to be the 'premium' rooms overlooking the reserve.
The following morning was chaos. As its off-season it was quiet, however the breakfast tables were all covered in leftovers with spillages everywhere and no staff. We had to hunt around for cutlery and someone to clear a table. When I complained I was told that they were short staffed and everyone was looking after the 'conference guests'.
We've stayed here before and loved it. This time it didn't feel like the same hotel and if it wasn't for the location we would have chosen the competitor down the road. To top it all, when we were about to leave I noticed that the car parked next to ours had dented our car with its door when they opened it!
I've recommended it in the past and won't do so again until I hear and see that there've been some serious improvements.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by PaulF20 OK stay
I can only say our stay was OK as we were kept awake most of the night by a noise in our room, we don't know what it was but it sounded as though it was connected to perhaps a water tank? As regards to the food, the service at the bar was terrible. We had to wait ages just to get served and then they took over 30 mins to bring a cup of soup! The breakfast was excellent though. Our stay served its purpose but it was nothing like our previous stay. The swimming pool is far too small as we had to go a waiting list to get in and it took 45 mins just to get in!

Bit upset the spa was not working the swimming pool had private swimming lessons so we had less than a quater of the pool to swim in and the bit we could swim in was to deep for children. And my room was not up to scratch with the cleaning as there was a lot of dust in the room and my wife is asthmatic. Also the food in the restaurant was expensive. When we booked in the hotel the staff there took £50 off of my credit card for use of minibar, but I did not use this money, when I asked for it to put back on my card I was told it would take a few days which I found to be discusting.on the Saturday night of our stay there was a wedding reception going on in our hotel and at 12:30am we had to phone down to reception to ask if there was any way that they could turn down the music as the walls in our room were vibrating and our children could not sleep.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Misscheeseburger Good Value Theme Park Break
I had a great package deal of a one night stay and two day theme park tickets for My husband, four year old daughter and Myself.
The hotel overall is really lovely. We had a room overlooking the Wayanama reserve which I would recommend. Rooms are spacious and clean. Beds and pillows were uncomfortable for me but, I am a really fussy when it comes to comfort. Expect some noise if you are going to stay here, it is very child friendly which is great but, unfortunately there will always be some inconsiderate parents who let their children scream and run around late in the evening or at 6am. The restaurant I thought was expensive for what it was and would say it was ok. The morning breakfast needed more staff as it was very busy and only one member of staff was showing people to tables which caused a significant delay. Also, did not replenish breakfast items very quickly, Things were running out and again there did not seem enough staff to manage this. I was surprised how busy it was as it was a Monday morning so can imagine a weekend is even busier.
I would recommend this hotel for familes and great for visiting Chessington World of Adventures.

Booked the hotel to be close to Chessington World of adventure. We were not disappointed. Stayed in a family room where my son had his own sleeping area and tv which he loved. The room was spacious enough and very comfy and clean. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and friendly nothing was to much trouble. We would love to go back for longer. Brilliant

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Picture1 A generous 4* experience
Fantastic all round short stay badly let down by the Reception staff who were sketchy on their knowledge of Park entrance tickets/procedures and as such, caused me an initial headache and a stressed 4year old boy. Night staff gave me differing information and when I tried to confirm the previous nights instructions in the morning, the morning lady was bordering on rude and difficult (she probably was but I ignored it as it was both my birthday and didnt rise to it in front of my son). Asking to see the duty manager (I think she was but she had to refer to an 'invisible' member of staff for advice#, explaining the problem #and it was a problem!# give her her due - she did semi recover the situation but I felt as though she could have done more. Considering this was the main point of the stay it definately put a tarnish on the whole experience. I will stay again but not for a long while. Apart from this, my obvious observation was the lack of seniority i.e. age for reassurance/confidence - all the staff both in the hotel and park itself without exception seemed extremely young - although the majority were friendly, gave me the impression that they were students on cheap labour rates? Dreadful food in the park #my chicken wrap had never seen a chicken in its life for £6# but the prices weren't a rip off anywhere in the hotel #even the alcohol# and resort which was a pleasant surprise. On balance 4stars but badly let down on obvious details that can and could be easily avoided.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lakelover Comfortable bed. Very clean
Many family members from around the country and abroad met and stayed here on a family matter. We did not come to visit the Chessington resort. However it was an added bonus to be able to see the Giraffes Zebras and other animals while at breakfast or on the terrace. It was nice to be able to walk around and see more animals after the park closed at 5.30.
The bedroom and bathroom were exceptionally clean.
We did not eat at the hotel although the food looked very good.
Pre our visit, I made several phone calls to the hotel reception and each of the staff I spoke to were extremely friendly and helpful as was the case when we checked in.
I would certainly stay again and my daughter is planing to go again with her whole family and friends to visit the resort.
The only negative was that the jacuzzi was out of order for the 2 days we were there.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Richard4617 Room very good but food slightly disappointing
The rooms are large and comfortable, I have stayed here several times and always found this to be true. The restaurant food though is rather below the standard I would expect, and it has a family focus rather than quality dining.
The pool was half roped off for lessons, strange around 6pm when I think that guests should have priority to relax and enjoy as they have paid for this, and I would appreciate some lanes being reserved for adults rather than having the whole pool for kids play. Hot tub was out of action also, only this one time.
Free wi-fi in open areas is useful

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Janner68 Excellent Theme Room
From the moment my family arrived until the moment we checked out, this was the best experience we have had in an IHG Hotel. The Themed Room surpassed our expectations and our children absolutely adored their jungle themed room. The only slight complaint was the high price of the food, but the quality was excellent at all meals. We love the walk out into the Safari Park in the evenings, ran out of time to swim! We will be back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EmmaMJ On safari in Chessington!!
This was our visit to Chessington, we only decided to come because of a promotional offer but we are both very glad we did and will definitely return.
The staff were all very polite, friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and comfortable.
It was lovely and relaxing to sit in the restaurant watching the animals roam around while we ate our delicious African themed meals. The added bonus was being able to walk around the reserve until dusk, after the park had closed to visitors.
Our only disappointments were that the Jacuzzi was broken (i was looking forward to this after walking around the park all day) and the scrambled egg at breakfast was soggy! However, there is lots of choice at the buffet breakfast.
We absolutely loved the place and look forward to returning.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Darren13 Absolutely Fantastic!
I couldn't have wished for a better stay at the hotel! After a 3 hour drive with two children, we arrived tired and hungry and a little bit stressed! That all changed as soon as we entered the hotel. We were checked in with ease and given all the information needed for our stay. After settling in our amazing family room, complete with seperate room and TV for the kids, we went for a relaxing dip in the lovely pool. Then after getting showered and changed in our room, we decided to go and get some food. We ordered, and within 3 minutes (no exaggeration) the food was set infront of us, steaming hot and delicious. Nothing was too much trouble for the serving members of staff. We all had a great nights sleep, and breakfast the next morning was easy and stress free before we set off for our day out at Chessington. Fully reccommended, easily the best family orientated hotel we have stayed at.

Absolutely Great Rooms, clean, big, themed bunks and the view...wow. Imagine the kids faces when they looked out of the window to be greeted by a giraffe, zebras and an ostrich!
The terrace at the back where you could get close to the animals is super.
Service at reception was super, very attentive and friendly.
The Not So Good
We had booked a double room interconnected to a twin room and were assured this was guaranteed. We ended up in two doubles not interconnected. No possibility of a swap as the hotel was full. Not ideal with small kids. Having said that the hotel gave us all a free breakfast to say sorry.
The breakfast when we got there was ok, but getting there took half an hour as the "Q" for the restaurant went all the way back to reception.
Would we go back. yes we would, we will phone in house reservations to make the booking though and go to breakfast outside peak times

Arrived to a friendly welcome from the front desk, given room numbers and had a nice room overlooking grounds with animals roaming, kids loved it. Went around hotel facilities and out to grounds with animals, was able to go onto a viewing platform reasonably close to the animals.
Had a wonderful weekend with children in hotel and park. Hotel was very clean, staff very helpful especially the waitress in the hotel restaurant who was very helpful and pleasant and food was excellent. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We checked in and enquired about making a dinner reservation with the receptionist who told us to go to the restaurant & make a dinner reservation with them. We did this and we were told there was 530pm or 9pm. It was 515pm as we'd been in the park til then, so there was no way we'd be down in 15 minutes & 9pm was far too late for my 6 year old daughter. We were never told on making a booking to make a dinner reservation before we got to the hotel. We were told there was room service or bar food.
We were alittle disappointed not to be able to dine in the restaurant.
We checked into our themed room, which was really lovely. My daughters part of the room was fab & she loved it!
We went and had a swim in the leisure club which was nice. It was lovely and clean& it wasnice to look at the giraffes and zebras through the windows.
We did go down to the bar area around 7pm and luckily there were tables left, so we had dinner there. The food, wine & service were good.
It was nice to take a walk outside and see the animals after dinner.
Breakfast the next morning was good. Having King Julienne from the film Madagascar come round was the highlight for my daughter!
All in all, a good stay

I was staying at the hotel as my relative was having their Wedding Reception there. The meal both at the reception and at breakfast was outstanding, being both hot and beautifully presented. Being a retired Hotel Manager I know how testing this can be on the chef and kitchen and waiting staff.
My only complaint about the hotel was the over heating of the bedrooms. I know that I feel the heat more than a lot of people but others also found the rooms too hot. On entering my room I turned the thermostat right down and put on switch onto cold and put the fan full on but the cooling unit seemed not to be working as the air just seemed to recirculate instead of cooling. I did mention this on check out as was told that it would be looked into.
Overall the stay was amazing and the views looking out to the Chessington Park were wonderful.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dylan888 Good sized rooms and early riders to Chessington
My family have stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during the half term holiday. Our first impression was that the hotel has got great holiday atmosphere. When we got into the room we were delighted by the size and deco of the room. The swimming pool is big and spa facilities are fantasitic, which allowed us to relax after spending a whole day in the theme park. The best thing about staying in the hotel is as the hotel guests we were given the early rider wrist bands which allowed us to get into the theme park half an hour earlier. This was briilliant because some of the popular rides in the park can have queques for up to two and half hours. Entering the park half an hour earlier means a lot in that perspective. The hotel also has got good public transport link to central London even though it is at outskirts of London.
