Very peaceful and quiet, room good value for money, reception staff very good, Bar staff too fussy, breakfast staff took 3 attempts to get drinks right, and I missed porridge for breakfast, and found some of the cooked breakfast dried up. In general felt the breakfast was not good value for money, compared to rival hotels we have stayed at.

The hotel restaurant was closed so the bar area was busy during the evening meal time. Consequently, the staff were a little overwhelmed. The food was however fine. The next morning breakfast was served in the dining area and of the usual Holiday Inn standard.i.e.buffet style reasonable selection, some items not replenished, a little expensive and not exceptional.

We had a great experience at the hotel despite an incident involving another guest which was completely out of their control. Staff behaved professionally and in a friendly manner throughout the visit.
The outside appearance of the hotel was not at all appealing but the interior completely made up for it and looked great.
The hotel was not cheap and we only paid that price because it was via a rewards scheme. The breakfast was also expensive despite being nothing special, Furthermore it took a long time to get seated and we were told to wait to be served coffee which would have take ages had we actually listened. I would have been much happier to have doe both things myself in order to access breakfast much more quickly.
We also watched a film in the room which was difficult as it kept pausing as the connection caught up with itself. Again I would have expected better for the price.
