Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 An excellent value
I stayed for a 6 days, leaving on Oct 4, 2015. The service and staff exceeded my expectations. The check in was swift with a room upgrade from Superior to Deluxe. The staff were welcoming and efficient throughout my stay..
During my time the pool reopened and the area is nicely decorated. The gym if fully provisioned. I used it three times and it was never crowded. The sauna and steam room were available from 6:30am until 9:00pm which I felt was a little early to close. But a small issue.
The hotel is large and welcomes Chinese tour groups, but the numerous guests checking in are handled efficiently and are quickly into their rooms. Getting the elevator between 7:30 -8:30 am can lead to long waits and crowded elevators as the tour buses leave at this time. I was advised to go to breakfast before 7:15 or after 8:30 to avoid the elevator crush. I appreciated the advice.
Morning breakfast buffet is more than adequate, with Asian and western selections.. Dinner buffet was surprisingly inexpensive. Coffee is weak and this really needs management attention. A good cup of coffee starts the day right, but a weak cup just leaves a bad impression. How difficult can it be to add a few more beans into the pot?
The hotel is a little away from the town center, but easily accessed by Tuk-Tuk or taxi at rates that are higher than I expected and braodly comparable to what I pay in Beijing for a taxi for the same distance - in a place where everything else is comparably cheaper.
Security is unobtrusive and discrete. Chiang Mai has something for everyone and a measure of evening entertainments. Guests are received courteously by the security people, though when checking in I saw one man arriving with four bar girls and he quickly found himself in the presence of several security men. This is a large hotel that caters to families also, It looked like one guest is ok, but no parties, which I thought was the right policy.
My bed was comfortable, and changed daily if requested. Nice towels, plenty of hot water, in a city known for cool showers. No mosquitoes in my room or in the lobby and restaurant areas. it was a dry week, But I also took the advice of several people and used repellent most of the time when I left my room..
I was very happy with my week at the Holiday Inn, I look forward to staying again.

It was disappointing as I have stayed many times in various Holiday Inn Hotels around the World.
The front office staff was either incompetent or their customer service is extremely poor.
The only positive was the live bar entertainment who performed gallantly though there was no one in the bar.
The valet service and the security was good too. The rest was poor.

Sono capitata in questo hotel grazie ad un tour organizzato e mi sono trattenuta poco purtroppo.
Ho avuto un'ottima impressione, le foto presenti sul sito corrispondono perfettamente alla realtà.
Personale ottimo e cucina buona.
Tornerei volentieri in questo hotel per un soggiorno più lungo e per sfruttare tutti i servisi offerti, fra cui una splendida piscina.
