The hotel is convenient to the canyon and there is not much else to choose from. The check in receptionsit was inattentive, but the resturant staff was superb. The restaurant hours are limited, so be prepared on that issue. The room is clean and adequate.

As noted in survey, the room evidently experienced some water damage in the bathroom and had not been repaired. There was paint peeling

Comfortable bed and room. Well run hotel. Helpful staff. Our Garmin GPS was funky and needed to be ignored to locate hotel as well as Canyon de Chelly. Hotel staff was aware that GPS often erred on the Navajo reservation, so they promptly printed out Google map directions to our next stop. [Our guides said Johnny Depp and the cast for that Lone Ranger movie stayed here.] Good location for Canyon de Chelly visit.

If you go to nice Canyon de Chelly, there is the only choice between this Holiday Inn and BW. Holiday Inn is good for location, close to the Canyon entrance, minutes away. Clean and quiet.
The only real problem was tap water by that time (spring) - yellowish sediments and no filters, no smell though. We had to buy drinking water in Chinle supermarket a few miles away, the HI front desk sells bottled water as well.
No microwave in the guest room and lobby.
Canyon de Chelly is worth to stop on overlooks and hike down to see in person classic scenery (Spider Rock, etc) from "Makkena's Gold" movie (1969) with Gregory Peck, Omar Sharif and local Navajo Indians. So this Holiday Inn stays in the right location.
