Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by great place not so great people I will start off with never GO HERE during hoilday weekend. the hotel it self was nice and clean. the front desk clerks was no help and rude. I called ahead to question if i need a parking pass for my guest i was told the lot was full and if I have not checked in I may not even have a spot to park. shocked due to I paid for parking with my room. Than when I asked was thee a near by parking lot where we should park in that case of no parking. i was told" i dont know maam thats not my job" . Once there i went to check in and was advised that my room wasn't booked for the window beach view, as I requested and due to holiday there was no more open rooms. after being told there was nothing i can do i was stuck in a room where im on roof top and have a view of maintenance cleaning the roof. after a long day of kids and beach we go inside to sleep its a party next door where the screaming at each after midnight. I have a family of certified chefs. I travel daily and stay in 2 to 5 hotels every week. I eat in several Restuarants weekly. I have become very critical of the facilities, services and food as I live and work with professionals that provide top quality products and services at a reasonable cost with a smile. This hotel exhibited the behavior that I expect and rarely find! Everyone went out of their way to help us with everything. Recommendations for dinner, pleasantly surprised with on site Jimmy's Fish House! Great service at the bar, Sean and Jay are a great team, taking care of all customers regardless of where they were!!! Great team work!!! Great food priced fair!!! Sean makes a great Cosmo martini, wife is happy, when mama's happy everyone's happy!!! Thank you Sean!!! Met the owner Jeff in the lounge, what a wonderfull person. He was sitting with friends and included us in their conversation as we watched the sunset! What a nice experience! Every employee we saw greeted us pleasantly every time!!! We can't wait to go back, planning next run so we can stay again! I have never said that about anyplace before!!! I really hope to find more places like this in my travels??? I am a Platinum member and this is the only hotel that has ever charged me to upgrade my room, the price went from $40 to $50 plus tax. Trust me, I have been a loyal customer of the IHG partners for awhile and since I have Platinum status I have never paid for parking until I stayed with this establishment. When I ask to have that comped I was told "it was impossible as it was beach parking." I wasn't going to make a big deal as it was $12 whole dollars, but my response was "I've stayed at locations on beaches and on rivers and other various desitnations". My point being that I already pay a higher price to stay at a location like this and that is understandable I know that going in to it. But as a loyal, weekly traveling member of your progam, there should be some perks. For this stay I got nothing, there was no water bottle or snacks, no free newspaper at my door. I paid for one of the most expensive rooms there, and you still charge me $12 to park my car...BUSH LEAGUE. Needless to say it only takes one sub standard experience to make a customer look elsewhere...guess what, I won't be back to your place and I will be looking at other businees for my weekly travel. Again, it's not the money, it's being treated as though you are respected for your loyalty. September 12, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good stay We stayed at the property while we were in the process of moving out of state. The property was wonderful we were upgraded to a suite and had a nice view. The restaurant was wonderful we barely left the property. We got a second room for the rest of the family. We were somewhat disappointed in that they authorized a debit card rather then charge it like we asked. We also had a visitor to the room and we were told that it is common in Florida. We were room changed to another room and were compensated parking for one room only. I am also a priority club member as well. Overall the property was nice and we will be back possibly. Our room overlooked the Gulf where we watched schools of stingrays and saw nice fish from our 3rd floor balcony. The room had small kitchenette. The beach along with everything you want to do is within walking distance. With the boaters pulling up to the places that had beachfront, you are better off at this hotel only having a seawall and walking to the spectacular beach. All of the staff was really good including the cleaning staff. The pool and pool bar area was roomy and plenty of chairs both around the pool and overlooking the Gulf. The restaurant had pretty good food. You did not have to leave the resort if you did not want to and would still have a great time. I can't wait to go back. September 7, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by R & R Really enjoyed the stay at the Clearwater Holiday Inn. The entire facility was immaculate. The fitness center was very nice and the pool area was very accomodating with plenty of seating. We weren't in the room much as we stayed out by the pool and the Tiki bar. What we saw of the room was great. It had a MW/Fridge/ and sink area like a Wet Bar. Also had silverware, plates and glasses which are much better than the styrofoam and plastic normally available. We had a nice balcony and were able to see the nite sights and people walking, skating and running. This hotel is in a great location as you have access to the boardwalk, many restaraunts and the beach. The only issues we had were no continental breakfast that we were aware of and no safe in the room. If we are on a working vacation a sfe in the room is a must and could be a deal breaker in the future as security of laptops and personal/company info is a must. Really enjoyed the stay. The Hotel is in the best location I have ever stayed at, literally on clearwater beach, with a deck overlooking the sea/bay that you can either sunbathe on by the pool or eat at from the restaurant. On arrival (and having used reward points to book) we were upgraded to a suite which was amazing! The food in the hotel was fantastic and we honestly wished we had booked a week instead of 2 nights! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by August 2013 This hotel is right on the gulf but with no beach area. We were aware of this prior to our trip though. We had a one bedroom suite which had 2 rooms...one with 2 double beds and the other with a small kitchen area, pull out couch and table and chairs. Perfect for a small family although the pull out couch was anything but comfortable and looked like it was in need of replacement. There were days where we had no linen service all day and they would come at 5pm while we were getting ready for dinner. Told them to come back and they never did. Staff as a whole was not very friendly at all. You could walk by them 100 times in the lobby or the halls and you never got a hello out of anybody that worked there. Wake up call didnt work and didnt find out that it doesnt until the next morning when the front desk told me if I wanted it I had to call them directly the night before and not use the service available on the phone. Now onto the positive...the pool was great, kept clean and they had a kiddie pool for the younger kids as well. Was never overcrowded and we never had a problem getting a lounge chair. Sunsets from this hotel were beautiful! It is a short walk to stores and Clearwater's public beach which was clean and beautiful! We ate many meals at Jimmy's and the food and drinks were always great. Service there was great as well. Although the hotel was about a mile walk to Pier 60 for $6 you can get a shuttle for your whole family and the shuttle drivers have personality. All in all this was our first trip to the gulf side of Florida and we loved Clearwater Beach. August 19, 2013

We went to Shephard's seafood restaurant and tiki bar which are located next door to the property. Awesome food. The breakfast was awesome as we sat out overlooking the water. Staff was very friendly and helpful...especially when we arrived at 1 am! Restaurant was nice for breakfast out by the water. Lots of birds, so hope you like them! Only mistake we made was thinking that this hotel was literally on the beach. It is on the seawall, so you have to walk down the street to get to the beach. August 12, 2013

The locations is awesome, the room was fantastic, the pool was amazing, and the views were incredible. The front desk was amazing and accommodating. Housekeeping was superb!! They even left a station playing of waves crashing on the shore for us! Like many hotels the prices in the restaurants were quite more then if you ate off property. Drinks were expensive, should of realized that when the prices weren't listed.The coffee shop was way over priced and after going across the road to get breakfast sandwiches for half the price when we went into the coffee shop to pay a ridiculous amount for a drink the lady saw our other purchases (which we were taking to our room) and gave us a really hard time about it. It got to the point where we were actually offended and decided that would be the last purchase we had from there. I also experienced two younger girls going into the gift shop right as the lady was closing and the lady very rudely told them it was closed and that it was too late and to come back tomorrow. The girls said they weren't able to come back tomorrow and looked crushed. But it didn't matter to the employee as she had already walked away from them. If it was candy they were after they could of at least been directed to the candy machine down the hall. Hotel awesome! After working for a Holiday Inn for several years though I am a little shocked at some of the staff attitudes and know it wouldn't fly at the hotel I worked at. Waited In Line For 30 Minutes To Check In, Which Is Fine, Until Getting To The Counter And Not Getting Even So Much As A Greeting From The Night Manager, Just A Stare Waiting For Us To Tell Him What We Needed. $12/Day Parking (Was Charged Without Warning). Pool Was Nice. Security Guard Around Pool, Not So Nice, Threw Away Our Two Beverages, Sitting Next To Our Belongings,, That We Just Purchased From The Pool Ba Not Even 5 Minutes Prior. He Was Rude And Laughed At Us When We Approached Him About The Incident. Otherwise, Nice Room With Good View. Bands At Jimmys Were Really Good Each Night. August 10, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 My 2nd time at this property and no where near as good as 1st. Things got off to a bad start, upon arrival as we waited an hour for them to get our reservation, they couldn't find us until an hour later.. After several days of being home I checked my credit card statement and I am charged twice for the room. I am currently in dispute with the hotel to get the 2nd charge removed. they blame the reservation company and the reservation company blames the hotel. I spoke with Chris the front desk manager and he was not very concerned and blamed the reservation desk. I also informed him that the short haired Spanish towel clerk at poolside said it was a $5 charge for towels, was he joking, I just stared at him and he gave the towels. The clerk gave us 2 ihg cards for drinks and he told us it was for our total party, but when I used them at the pool bar it was for just one drink and only a discount not a free drink as we were told at front desk. Chris the manager instead of listening about the info we were given about the drink card, he just stated that the card says for 1 drink and that everyone at front desk knows the procedures. So is he saying I'm not telling the truth. I say he should look into this and give better training to the staff. We paid for a suite with a pullout couch and it needs to be replaced very uncomfortable. The overall experience with this stay is poor. August 9, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Clearwater Beach Was able to check in early which was a nice surprise. The room was clean and comfortable. Disappointed with small bathroom though. Wonderful view of the Gulf. Pool area was nice but 2 days out of the 4 day stay by there were no towels. Many towels left sitting around by thoughtless guests though. Restaurant food was good but service was lacking....we kept getting passed off to another server. August 7, 2013

The sunsets were amazing. The restaurant was great - kids eat free. And the kids loved playing in the water. It was like having a private ocean since the crowds hang out down by pier 60. We enjoyed not having to share our water space with many other people. The kids also enjoyed Surf Style down the street. August 7, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great location - great staff My wife and I just completed our 2nd stay in CWB and are returning at Christmas. Key reasons are the great gulf side location and private beach area adjacent to the hotel. Other CWB hotels have more beach area than the Holiday Inn, but we are more "pool side" people. The pool is right on the water and no other large hotel has a pool right on the water. Also, the restaurant is right on the water. Not to mention the beautiful sunsets right at your dinner table or from your pool deck chair. Best of all, is the great staff. In over 30 years of travel, I have spent nearly 3300 nights in hotels and I know a great staff when I see it. From the front desk, to housekeeping to the pool staff this team is top drawer. We look forward to returning so to this treasure by the gulf. August 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Why bother with traveling abroad Clear Water has everything Mmy faily and I had to mix business with pleasure and fortunately chose the Holiday Inn at Clearwater. My wife and I have traveled to the Carribean recently and wish we would have chosen to stay on the Gulf shores of Florida...the food was excellent and reasonably priced....our kids ate free...talk about a huge savings. There were plenty of family activities and hot spots for my wife and I to get away. The staff at the front desk went incredibly out of their way to ensure our every need was taken care off. The rooms were much larger than you would expect for the reasonable cost. Thanks for the great memories. August 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Experience I was not charged the same rate that I was told. It was a pay upfront deal, and no one would help with the discrepancy.. The hotel manager was supposed to call me and after a few days gave up on him calling back! The fire alarm went off three times in one night. Once the whole hotel emptied at 3:00 am.. No credits were offered, and staff didn't even apologize for the inconvenience! Pool water was dirty, greasy. The Deluxe Queen suite (with full kitchen) did not have dish towels, sharp knifes, cutting board, etc. There were four plates, forks, spoons, knifes, and mugs. Three pots to cook in. Guess it was assumed one would bring most of their kitchen with them! We stayed three nights, we had to ask housekeeping to clean our room. They were not going to come in and clean up, re-using the bath towels was a green option. August 3, 2013
