As a platinum member, I stay in IHG properties weekly for business. Over the recent Memorial Day holiday, I used my reward points to take my family on vacation. Although our room was booked in advanced, the hotel was over sold. The staff trying to do their best, put us in a room with damp carpet. The musty odor caused my sons breathing issues to return. On the second night, a pipe on the second floor broke, and got our belongings wet. My wife questioned my thinking, for being so loyal to chain that "rewards" it's platinum members with damp rooms. I understand that at peak holidays, situations can be challenging. This stay was well below IHG's normal high level of results.

It was nice to enter to a place where everyone is friendly and willing to help. Needing help getting somewhere was easy because the personelle in the front were glad to assist and you could see it as well as feel it. I loved the attention that was provided. Excellent customer service at is best!
