Used this hotel as a base whilst visiting family in the area, would certainly use again if needed.
Very friendly helpful and polite staff with very clean comfortable rooms.
And the breakfasts are certainly worth getting up for.

This was once a good hotel with friendly staff, good leisure facilities and good food.
However the food is now very poor quality, staff are slow to carry out check in / check out and do not explain anything. There is never any free gym equipment and the pool is broken and the Jacuzzi never works.

I tried an alternative to my usual hotel, big mistake and never to be repeated.
The quilt was too thin and I was cold, the breakfast was cold, the check out a farse, the road noise loud and the trains loud. But to cap it all, the internet was £16

We stop here every time we call down to visit family. Only issue this time was no heating and it would have been nice to have been informed but this would not stop us staying again. It as a lovely pool and gym area which we use a lot.

Not a good stay unfortunately. No heating and the hot water was off for a day. The pool was very cold, so cold in fact, that we couldn't swim. The jacuzi has been out of order since October.

Stayed one night whilst visiting relatives and booked this hotel on line. Slightly apprehensive as we were arriving Boxing Day evening and was worried about staffing levels and service - all unfounded our stay was excellent.
Clean well maintained room and comfortable bed
Very good breakfast and staff attentive.
Reception helpful when asked for advice.
Recommend this hotel.

The initial appearance was clean and professional. On arrival, the receptionist was welcoming and friendly as were the staff in the bar where we ate. However, with the exception of the maid service, passing staff in the building did not manage a "good morning, afternoon" etc throughout our stay.
The TV menu did not work meaning that we could not find out about hotel services from the room, there was a constant lack of milk in the room for coffee and a lack of shower gel provided (we had to ask twice). On arrival the WC appeared to have been used by someone else. The bed dipped in the middle which didn't make for the best sleep. The room was otherwise clean and tidy, however.
The food in the bar was excellent and the bar staff provided a very good service.
At breakfast, eggs are meant to be cooked to your liking. We stayed for 3 mornings and on 2 occasions the chef was not available. On one occasion he acknowledged me and turned and walked away where a member of the waiting staff then advised that he would be about 10 minutes. The gym was good and well equipped but the heating had broken down in the pool for our stay so it was not possible to use.
