I am happy to report that my personal camera that I left at the property after checking out was turned in. I called 3 days after checking out when I missed it and was told they would send it to me. I called back again to check on it being shipped out and someone followed through to ensure the camera was shipped out to my home. I want those persons who helped me to get positive recognition and for the original finder for being honest. I am a priority club reward member and am loyal to Holiday Inn whenever I travel but now I have this extra reason to remain loyal. A bonus is they shipped it free to me! Additionally, I have severe food restrictions and the kitchen staff specially prepared my food in the kitchen. Thanks to each of them too. I am a very happy and loyal Holiday Inn fan! May 26, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Family Friendly Stay The rooms were accommodating, we were able to use the shuttle to and from our destinations with minimal waiting time, which made our stay much more enjoyable to not worry about parking in 'Old Market'. The pool was great, the deck opens up to looking over the river, a great amenity. The breakfast was perfect before a big day outside, everyone found something they enjoyed. I had two 7 year old boys and 5 adults stay, we all enjoyed our stay. The staff was all very helpful and friendly. May 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Stay We had a wonderful Anniversary stay at this Hotel. The ability to walk from your Hotel to the Casino and restaurant was awesome. We would come and stay again anytime. The only problem that we did have was the yearly cleaning of our air conditioning unit and we had to leave one afternoon while we were taking a nap and trying to relax. We put the do not disturb sign on our door and we got a phone call and they knocked on our door. This was really disturbing. May 20, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A very nice hotel and enjoyeed the stay. The front desk responded to the Priority status and provided a nice upgrade. The connection to the Casino gives good options for eating and entertainment. Staff was always there and ready to help. Once a week, the staff offers a free light dinner and some drinks. The free dinner and drinks makes you feel like they really care about you being there. This is the second time I have stayed at the hotel. Will stay there again during my next planned trip to the area for work. I also enjoy that one side of the hotel faces the river and you can see downtown Ohama. Room with a view.... May 8, 2013

I received a great rate, they let me check in early, and had a complimentary shuttle that runs 24/7 to get me to and from the musical i was in town to see. I would much rather throw in a 5 buck tip for a ride than to drive around in such a big city. (Im from a small town in SD) Plus Im sure i would have had to pay for parking had i drove. And the complimentary breakfast was fabulous. I will definately be coming back. March 22, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Overall... Just okay Location for this property was great! Easy access to ameristar which was perfect for us! The room was very clean which is very important. But a couple problems... The pillows were lumpy and even though one was labeled firm and one soft they both seemed to be the same level of lumpiness. The breakfast wasn't anything to write home about but it was okay. The evening staff when I checked in wasn't very welcoming but the overnight and the morning folks were very nice! So as the title reflects my stay was okay but wasn't really anything extraordinary. March 8, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Busy Weekend I stayed here with my husband, as a birthday weekend getaway. We arrived later in the evening, after a fundraiser that we were attending finished. There was a bit of a wait to check-in, and at first we were apparently checked into a room with two beds. The front desk clerk changed us to a single room on the third floor without us having to say anything, which was great initiative. Upon arriving on the third floor, it smelled strongly of cigarette smoke and when we arrived at our room and opened the door I could see a suitcase in the doorway, the tv was on, and I could see that someone was lying in bed watching tv. We didn't even enter the room, but turned around and went back downstairs. Back downstairs we had to wait again due to the hotel being busy, but upon explaining the situation the front desk clerk apologized and quickly proceeded to move us to a large corner room on the fifth floor. This floor didn't smell of smoke, and upon dropping our luggage off to go do some gambling we were worried we would come back to find someone had been in our room, or would be sleeping in our bed after the mix-up that we had. The only things I would have to comment on is the fact that our door closed very loudly, and the shower would have random bursts of hot water. Other than that, everything was great! February 18, 2013

I could not get hot water in the shower. Called the front desk and they said they would "look into it". An hour later no remedy. Cold shower then off to my meeting feeling miserable. No mention of it when I checked out. All not stay here again and will not recommend the property. February 15, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best in Omaha/Council Bluffs This is the best hotel in the Omaha/Council Bluffs area. The staff is professional, and quick to respond to any request. This location is close to the interstate. Parking is great, but having the valet park my car in cold weather is even better! As a business traveler, this is one of the few hotels I actually get a good nights' sleep.. When I stay at this hotel, I feel like I am home. February 6, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service & everyone is so friendly and eager to help you. I have stayed at the Holiday Inn since 2004 for 3 days a week for 9 weeks. I do clinical for Des Moines Area Community College at Mercy in Council Bluffs with nursing students. I love it here! Everyone is so nice and friendly. From the people at the check in desk, to the ladies that fix breakfast, and to the cleaning ladies. Bill Vanderpool makes it so easy when I email him dates that I need to stay and he emails my reservations. I love the convenience and hospitality. So customer orientated! January 23, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by AMAZING staff, very nice rooms, awesome breakfast! my husband, children, and i make it a point to be sure that this is the hotel we stay at when we get to omaha/council bluffs. the staff all go out of their way to do all of the extras. we have even recieved upgrades in the past if we check in later, and if they are not full. the most impressive thing happened the other night, though. on jan. 10 we were in omaha because my sister had a major med. emergency. we had been in town off and on for two weeks. when we went to check in that night the power was out in half of council bluffs including the holiday inn. the desk clerk, bill, got on the phone and arranged rooms for us with one of their affiliated hotels that had power. this is just one example of the treatment i have recieved every time i have stayed there in the past ten years. great hotel, great staff, good food, nice pool and work out area. you will not be treated like this anywhere else, i gaurentee it!!!! thank you bill especially, you are a kind person, karma will reward you! god bless! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Satisfied yet, slightly disappoinnted The staff were great. The breakfast buffet had anything you need for breakfast from omelets to biscuits and gravy. The room was comfortable, but the overall appearance of the hotel needs some interior maitenance. I normally stay at the Casino hotel, but rooms were unavailable. I will stay at the Holiday Inn again if the same situation arises. January 6, 2013

My only issue with the hotel staff was that a maid knocked on our room door and didnt wait for anyone to even try to answer the door before she walked in, good thing we were clothed! Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and nice roon, BUT Comfortable bed and very nice roon, BUT.... I could not get hot water in my shower for the first two nights of my stay. The breakfast was lacking and did not have ANYTHING that was low carb or sugar free. Daibetes that take care of themselfs have to skip the breakfast. I skipped it everyday, asked the staff if they had anything sugar free (like syrup) but they simply said no. TV channels were fuzzy and very limited. No movie channels at all and the printed channel lists in the room didn't match what was available. The lobby ATM was out of order for the entire stay as was the vending machines on the floor that I was staying on. Overall- the lack of a hot water shower, no breakfast options, and poor TV made staying in the room/hotel useless... October 11, 2012
