First of all our room only had a shower and we both enjoy hot baths - we thought the whole bathroom was very uncomfortable. We called in a wake up call and talked to a person, as well as did the automated as we definitely needed to be up by 6AM. We didn't receive a call. I complained about it when we checked out and was told the receiver had to be off the hook before the phone could ring!!! (HUH# They said the instructions were printed on the phone - can't say as we'd already left the room. The clerk offered to remove our breakfast cost from our room - but we'd paid cash instead of charging to the room. She then called in a manager #man# which was very hateful - just said the instructions were printed on the phone - - sorry!!! We had several miles to travel that day and it made us about an hour late arriving at our destination. #VERY UNHAPPY) We will never stay there again, in fact, will reconsider before staying at any Holiday Inn. I will be complaining to Corporate.

This property is incredible! We were returning from a cruise and were VERY ready to stop for the night. This beautiful Holiday Inn not only offered us a fantastic room for the night, but the restaurant and bar were top notch as well. Spoil yourself at this place!! We will be making it a regular stop on our travels between Indiana & Florida.

My family was traveling to Dalton to spend Easter weekend with family there. We were in a car accident on the way that evening and we had to wait until the next morning to get a rental car. The hotel charged us for the room night even though we did not arrive until 1:30 the next day. I was told since we booked the reservation online and prepaid there was no refund. I then asked if we could stay until Monday or get a voucher for another night in the future, general manager said no. I tried one more time and asked for late check out on Sunday so we could spend more time with family since we missed the entire night on Friday and most of Saturday, the desk clerk gave us an extra hour for check out. Needless to say I strongly urge others NOT to pay in advance and don't expect any help from this facility in emergencies.

Our stay at the Holiday Inn in Dalton was very nice. We've stayed there several times before. We are Platinum members. The desk clerk did not acknowledge the we were Priority Club members. At other locations, they thank us for being Priority Club members and often we're given an upgrade. Some Holiday Inns provide goodie bags for Priority Club members.

We were on our way back from Florida and decided to stop in Dalton, GA instead of driving straight through. The HIE signs on the highway helped make that decision. The signs indicated a new Holiday Inn. It was almost midnight and we stopped to find out that there was a HIE next to the Holiday Inn as well, but it was sold out. So we went to the Holiday Inn and we were offered a king suite for a discounted price because it was so late. The lobby area was beautiful, very contemporary. Of course I was happy to get a room, but the edges around the room were dirty which is my biggest pet peeve. The bathtub was so fancy that we had to call down to the desk and find out how to turn the shower on:) The bathroom lighting was great too. The room lighting was poor, but I have found that most hotel rooms are that way anymore. My husband loved having 2 large TV's in the room. The staff was extremely nice, very impressed with them.
I can see us stopping at this Holiday Inn again.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by RetiringHappy Quiet room, beautiful lobby
Quiet room, beautiful lobby, impeccably clean and sparkly. At check-in, the front desk staff was OK, although a bit standoffish, not overly friendly, and she only gave us one bag of Priority Club treats for 2 people, whereas the previous Holiday Inn had given us a bag for each of us. The front entry off of College Drive was very steep, a very scary descent to the parking lot, almost like a bottomless pit, and we were afraid the car would bottom out. We subsequently used the other entrance by the competitor's hotel rather than scaring ourselves by going down that steep drive. On check-out, the front desk staff was a different person who had a warmer, much more gracious personality, and we left with a smile.

Having a full restaurant on site is wonderful after driving all day. Don't have to do drive-thru food again. Restful night. Thanks
