An enjoyable stay which was good value and relaxing. The service was excellent from the start, throughout our stay and when leaving. Breakfast had everything that we required, fresh and well prepared. Our evening meals were enjoyable and of a good standard. We used the swimming pool and the information we were given was very informative. Our room was comfortable, warm clean and we were happy with everything made available to us.

Poor comfort in the bedrooms and the public rooms somehow are uncomfortable, cold or too hot(both in the bedrooms and public areas due to air ducts at head hight rather than radiators which seem to work far more efficiently)) and not particularly conducive to relaxing.
Most times I stay the business lounge has been commandeered by some impromptu "double glazing" team meeting and trying to have a private business meeting in the main public lounge does not work because it is too open and offers little comfort.
The quality of the breakfasts has definitely been downgraded. For a solo traveller £10 is over the top for what's on offer and for example a Morrisons all you need for £5 seems more appealing.
Good staff though except it always takes an age to get served at the bar!

Behind the industrial exterior of this hotel lies a very comfortable hotel, with friendly staff and good restaurant and bar. It is a great stopping place if you are travelling around the North East of England.
