Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by JamesDMuir Easy Location, Large Rooms, Poor Service, Billing Issues
The location is easy to find, there is ample parking, a large lobby, plenty of seating in the bar area and restaurant and the rooms are very big if not a little odd with the sink in the bedroom and the shower and toilet in a separate room.
The bar staff/restaurant staff could benefit from showing a more care for their customers, at one stage there was 3 people standing behind the bar chatting whilst 3 customers waited, there was limited care at the table when myself and 2 others had our meal.
The billing system was down meaning they were not able to offer me a receipt and said they would email it to me, 2 weeks later I am still waiting and have sent several emails with no response.
I have not had any reward points added for the stay other than the welcome points and I spent over £400.
The internet was terrible, it was so slow I switched to using my iPhone personal hotspot to work on emails.
I stay frequently with the IHG group and have to say the Washington Holiday Inn is a great place to stay for service and I will now ensure make the extra journey to stay in a place where I enjoy.

We had booked for breakfast but due to distance we had to travel we could not eat in restaurant due to early start. We were offered pack up breakfast and this was rather poor. 1 croissant

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Davey308 Overnight Stay at Holiday Inn Darlington North A1M
I have stayed at this hotel a number of times both for business and a leisure breaks. Always found the staff friendly and helpful. My first visit the young man on reception introduced me to the IHG rewards club. Its handy for Newcastle/Darlington area being alongside the A1M motorway also a little quieter than the Holiday Inn at Scotch Corner. I try to stay here when working in the area also come here for leisure weekends, Beamish and Raby Castle are a short drive away.
