I recently enjoyed a weekend stay at the Crowne Plaza Downtown Denver. The concierge was extremely helpful a few days before I checked in, giving me directions and transportation tips. On the day of my arrival I experienced the same helpful and friendly service from everyone from front desk to concierge to wait staff. The hotel location is walking distance to the convention center, many restaurants and shopping! I would certainly be happy to stay there again when I return to Denver.

I made a quick trip to Denver over a weekend to meet up with a friend from Europe who was going to be in town. The location of the hotel was perfect - right near 16th street where there are shops and restaurants, and near several museums. The staff were wonderful, particularly the Concierge, who tried his best to help my friend track down a package she was expecting. He also helped us with transportation arrangements. The staff in both the restaurant and bar were also very friendly.

I cannot recommend highly enough the Crowne Plaza in Denver. I was there with three friends for the Denver Pride Fest and through the entire stay the staff, from font desk, to room service, to concierge, went above and beyond to make our stay fabuous. They were there for every extra or unanticipated need. In my book this facility and it's staff are fully a five (5) star resort.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by jennelle69 The beds actually were great.
The only downside was that the parking was a little expensive. The staff was very helpful ( I wish I could remember her name) but she even printed a map for us to find a club downtown late in the evening. It was a great experience and great place to stay. Actually had wanted to stay again this weekend but website said no rooms available.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by knotpc Old, outdated suites, Hotel is below Crowne Standards
We chose to spend our 24th wedding anniversary at this location. My choice was based on positive experiences at all other Crowne Plaza locations. The staff and service were great, even though breakfast was served 30 minutes late. The property is severely aged and outdated. While attempts have been made to update furnishings the rooms, are outdated. Our suite was obviously a remodel that combined two rooms. The Bathrooms were small and outdated. The suite's tub was tiny, not at all the soaker style other Crowne Plaza's locations have. We almost checked out after seeing our room but decided to stay considering the fee we were charged for a Romance Getaway. The champagne was a disappointment as well as it was suited best for one person.
The hotel overall rates one star as it is not worth the fee charged

Concierge(s) / Doormen: Always friendly and pleasant.
Bar: Same drink ordered from two different bartenders yielded different prices. The first bartender charged $20 for a drink that should have been about four dollars less. And yes, the second bartender charged me $16 - which was about what I'd expected at a hotel bar.
Room: Desk chair was no longer height adjustable and had not been dusted in ages. Housekeeping did supply a working chair when asked.
Room / housekeeping / security. Returning late in the afternoon to my room I noted it had not been made up. After two calls to housekeeping, it was. Returning to my room after dinner I discovered that the room had been left unsecured by the cleaning staff (propped open slightly with the security loop).
I discussed this with someone from the front desk and received an adjustment in my bill. Nice. But I would have preferred a properly locked door.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by notthedoctor A very pleasant stay with only minor gotchas
My family booked a room for a weekend not long ago (late May) for the Denver Comic Con. We stayed two nights. We got placed in a room with only one bed (we wanted two) because we booked a block rate through the online registration system rather than calling the hotel directly, and they couldn't move us, but that's not the hotel's fault. They did offer us a rollaway for our child at a near-zero per-night rate.
First the less-good bits: Unfortunately we got one of the rooms that hasn't yet been redone (the hotel is in the midst of a remodel) and the bathroom was not designed for short adults (like my wife) or children. The sink was almost unusable! The room had no fridge, but when we asked for one it was promptly delivered and hooked up with no issues at all.
Aside from those gotchas, the rest of the stay was very pleasant. The staff were uniformly polite, attentive, and helpful; the room was kept immaculately clean; and the location in downtown Denver, near the Convention Center, 16th Street Mall, the Capitol, the Performing Arts Complex, and much more, was perfect. A very good value for our money! We would definitely stay here again, but next time we'll book directly at the hotel by phone and make sure we get a room with a new bath. :)

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bucksrule Poor staff, shoddy facilities
Facilities were in poor shape - 7-8 lounge chairs were lying at the bottom of the pool. Weights missing from the gym.
Pictures on the website are misleading. Views from most rooms are pretty ugly.
Staff was terrible - especially at the restaurant.
Only good thing about the hotel is the location - it is very close to the downtown mall and hangout areas.

We couldn't have been in a better location! The hotel
was very nice and the room very spacious. The staff were very helpful in assisting with places to eat and things to do. Best of all, most everything we were interested in doing was within a five minute walk! Highly recommend!!

Your hotel double charged me for a meal I had. You charged my room and my credit card. I did not notice until after I had checked out. Other than this, it was a nice hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ABCD59 Perfect location for a conference and business
Great location for my conference at the Convention Center and subsequent meetings in Denver, Boulder, and Fort Collins. The staff were outstanding and attentive, room very functional and comfortable, with excellent facilities and services available. The lobby bar was especially welcome - Tracy was a wonderful host, the food and drink excellent, and with the wireless service it became a great evening "office". Also, very convenient to the 16th Street Mall and transportation. Will definitely use this hotel again - one of the nicest for business-related travel.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Hunter827 Extremely rude and unhelpful staff
The staff was unwilling to help me and finally returned my call after two voice messages and a colleague had to remind them about my message. I typically use Crowne Plaza as my first choice for hotel reservations however after my experience with the Denver staff I will have to rethink my decision. Very rude and unhelpful. Disappointed to say the least.

The Crowne Plaza located just off the 16th St Mall in downtown
Denver was a great find! Very quiet yet so very close to the
downtown action. Just a short stroll from the Brown Palace where
we had a function. We live in Aurora, but chose to spend the
night in town. The staff was so friendly & the suite was updated
with granite countertops in the bath(s)!! Close the French doors from one room to the next & nothing could be heard! The beds
were quite nice as well.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nicolas75flyertalk Don't expect the charm of a sophisticated boutique property, but the hotel does the job
Suite on high floor is around 55 sqm
Room with seating area, coffee machine, toilets
Bedroom with desk, armchair, comfortable bed
Large separate dressing
Small bathroom with fridge like light and tiny bathtub. TempleSpa amenities (I like them).
Panoramic view over the city and the Rocky Mountains
Renovated corporate design with lack of charm, but everything perfectly clean
2 large flat television sets with large cable channels selection (but no international channels).
No iPhone dock (but mp3 alarm clock)
No minibar (but a convenient empty fridge)
Free fast wifi for Platinums (need to enter password only once)
- Very central location (10 minutes walk to Denver Art Museum, Golden Triangle with hip restaurants and cafés).
- Very friendly staff
- Fast wifi
- Rent a bike station next to the hotel (perfect for visiting the city).
- Nothing, except perhaps the interior design which definitely could have been more inventive

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by SaraNorfolk Expensive prices for a so so hotel
I stayed at this hotel because I attended a conference at a nearby convention center. The hotel looks very old. The furniture in myroom was very worn looking. My room view was of the parking garage structure about 20 feet away. I felt like I didn't have much privacy. When I got in the shower on the first morning there was a small blood stain on the inside of the shower curtain. I reported it to the front desk after almost vomiting and it was taken care of but no offers were made to compensate me. When I turned the air on in my room the heat came on an I thought something was on fire until I realized what it was. The room service selection is lacking. When I was there for some reason the restaraunt was closed leaving only the bar open which didn't leave many dining choices open. The location of the hotel was great but that's about it.

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Denver. We were there to attend a Rockies' baseball game and found the location to be very accessible to the 16th street mall for the bus and also to the Pavilion shopping center. Rooms have been updated since our last stay there many years ago, but we will not stay away that long now!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 very small room
I was in Denver for large work meeting and required to share room. Double room was very small for two people. Bathroom very small also allowing only one person at a time to get ready. With proximity to convention center I expected it to be a much nicer quality.

We were just in town for one night on our way to the mountains. The hotel was easy to find and although the neighborhood was a little sketchy, as many 'downtown' locations are, I did not feel unsafe at all in the hotel or parking garage. The room was very clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly. The room upgrade to a suite was an added bonus.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Quick visit
I was having difficult finding a hotel that was near to my event's activities. But this hotel was only one mile away. In retrospect, this location was ideal for shopping, touring, and it was close to the public library. In short, I will encourage my family to take a Denver trip with me on the next visit. This trip was my first to Denver and it was booked under hurried circumstances. While the price was higher than I preferred, the value made up for the expense.
