Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by I'll remember my stay at your hotel I’ve been rejected 3 times and if the below review will again be rejected for: “Specific references to other hotel brands” or “The mention of specific amounts and/or rates” please let me know what needs to be changed so I don’t have to keep guessing. Here’s my review of my experience at your Hotel. Two of my girlfriends and me planned to meet another girlfriend for a mini vacation. We booked two adjoining rooms, each having two queen beds. We all checked in on September 21st, 2015. We gathered in one room for cards and conversation. Around midnight we called it an evening and we went back to our room to sleep. I pulled the covers back and there were little bugs all over my pillow and sheets. We talked to the night clerk and she came to the room and assured us that they WERE NOT bedbugs. She took pictures of the bugs and went to check on another room for us. They did not have another set of adjoining rooms so they moved us to another room on a different floor with only one bed. Our mini vacation really took a step back. We no longer had the adjoining rooms with two beds each like we reserved. The only thing we were offered was a small discount on our next stay. In my opinion I feel that we should not have been charged for that one room. When I got back home, I told my husband about the trip. He agreed that we shouldn’t have been charged for the one room. He called the Hotel and talked to the General Manager. He didn’t think it was a big deal and when I told him that we shouldn’t have been charged for that one room, he said he would talk to his manager and get back to me. As of October 22nd he has not called me back. I’ve called him back and left messages to try and finalize this situation on: October 7, October 12, October 16, October 20 & October 21. When I finally got him on the phone, he said they must have left the door open and that’s how the bugs got in because he had never had trouble with bugs before. The reservation for the two rooms was made by S. J. and the four of us shared the cost. She did not have any trouble with her room. It was my room that had the bugs. J. & D. November 19, 2015

Breakfast was great and the lounge was clean, roomy, and the staff was very friendly. I plan on staying here every time I come back to the area, which is quite frequently. November 14, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice hotel with restaurants on a lake Holiday Inn Detroit Lakes is a good value for the price. Nice beach on a lake with a bar and grill and restaurant. Do not expect a continental breakfast or coffee 24/7 although you have the ability to make your own coffee in your room. Very comfortable bedding and lounge chair with an ottoman in a king bed room. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by room mix up weekend of Oct 22-25 Beautiful location in Detroit Lakes on the lake. Unfortunately, wedding party was disappointed on the mix up of rooms and service provided to the wedding party. (and no fault by the attendant helping with this mix up as she was very apologetic). Also the price given to the block of rooms for the wedding party was pricey. People who booked rooms at the Holiday Inn only days prior to the wedding had better room prices than those who booked within the dates given for the block rooms. Go figure??! would appreciate some type of private conversation/response to the bride/groom. October 29, 2015
